Thank you for the PDF! I added the self centering pre drill bit to my shopping list! I have the Kreg jigs and they are just fantastic!!
I also wanted to thank YOU and Jacob. I built a set of nesting steps so that our older dogs could get into the hatch area of our car. With out the two of you, I would never have had the confidence to build anything. The two of you do such an amazing job of breaking down the process and showing how to do it. And your drawings are just awesome! I truly enjoy my morning coffee at my out door couch (favorite Mother's Day present)! We have REAL wood bedframes! A farm table with benches! I also finished the base to your Round Modern Dining Table, and this week I am building the table top! THANK YOU!

Yep you are right, but I like the way she did it better since I only have one cordless drill that way I am not changing back and forth between the forstner bit and the screw hole bit for every hinge. BTW it seems like the hole in the drill get pretty sloppy the more hinges you drill a weakness in the jig IMO.

  • @fafournier

Nice techniques, clear and simple to follow. I like it!
Those euro concealed hinges normally have a standard measurement. The cabinet part is actually meant to be compatible with the "system 32" peg system. This means that the holes are 37mm (between about 1 7/16 and 1 1/2 inch) from the front and 32mm (~1 1/4 inch) apart. This part is quite universal (except for Ikea that likes doing its own things on some of their ranges...)
On the door side, there is more variation between brands. The template that you mentioned and that usually comes with the hinges is really practical. The big hole is typically 35mm (about 1 3/8 inch) and its center varies around 21.5 (~7/8th inch) and 23.5mm (15/16th inch) from the edge of the door.
Stripped screws in MDF is definitely a problem... I can't wait to learn about that! :-D

Make sure to read the Kreg instructions. On the jig there are guide holes to align pilot holes for the screws. Use a hand screwdriver instead of a drill. Put the right hand screw in first as this motion keeps the hinge plate straight. Ps. Kreg also make a nice jig for drilling handle holes accurately.

Do you show how to do the face frame hinges please? I am making a little library box that needs the door to be over the opening and it is not attaching to the 1/2 frame, as it is framed. I need the face frame hidden hinge? Thanks so much Nice video, and clear steps!:)

Hi, Ana. Love all your videos! Thank you for sharing. Can you tell me where you ordered the doors from?

Ana, do you ever do inset cabinet doors, where door is flush with face frame?

I used to but really stay away now because it’s so hard to get the doors perfect in the inset. The overlay is much more forgiving and easier to install.

Hi Ana. Gosh I love your stuff. I am working on one cabinet door with concealed hinges. It is a frameless cabinet and the thickness of the cabnet is 3/4 inch. I am doing a FULL OVERLAY. Question for you -- is the offset, the measurement from the edge of the door to where the edge of the hinge cup is located? And you say yours are 5mm. Are they all 5mm? Since it is just one cabinet door (for a homemade medicine cabinet), I am hoping to just buy a little plastic jig for $10... Not the fancy Kreig jig. Can you just tell me if my offset will be 5mm? I guess I am confused about if the 5mm offset matters with the width of the cabinet overlay. Thanks if you can help me. Your stuff is GREAT!!!!!! Thanks you so much!

Very good video and you explain overlay, framed and frameless very well.
I apologize if I missed it, but what is the depth of the bore hole. I plan to use ½” plywood to cut a 24” by 18” door frame then cut a 20” x 14” opening and put cane material in the opening at my daughter's request.
Would ½” thick door frame be enough for these “euro” style hinges?
It seems many of the online stores list the hinge as 35mm bore, but never say anything about the depth of bore? What is the required depth of bore?

No problem, I lay it all out here www.ana-white.com/woodworking-projects/concealed-hinges-made-easy-video-and-illustrated-guide

@@AnaWhiteDIY wow 1/2" depth, so I guess I had better re-think using 1/2" plywood frame or that cup will not be concealed. So I guess this could be the reason lots of people use 3/4" MDF or 1 x stock which is actually 3/4" thick. Or find different hinges than the euro style 35mm bore. Thanks for the reply.
