As much as it pains me, i fear i must fulfill her wishes. She is one of the few NPC's in ED that truly backs us up and never turns away from us. There is no hidden dagger, no betrayal, no hidden purpose..... just a master looking for a sincere apprentice.... alas, it is often a fate of such masters to see their own end in From Soft games!
The other apprentices that served her thought the same thing.
Remember what happened to them.
@@alex_pearlI mean she never tried to make our PC graven along with her. Mostly because she thought we’d become Elden Lord and share the knowledge that comes with that with her, but she really doesn’t ever compromise the relationship between the PC and her.
@@xxeman445xx I mean, when she says, "Even if you fail to become Lord, come back to us. I will have a use for a blunt student." I took that as a veiled threat that she'd do to us what she did with the other apprentices. Thankfully, she screwed herself over before that could be a possibility.
F'd around, found out. GG Sellen. Renala wins by doing absolutely nothing.
If you don’t tell her about Lusat she won’t transform
@@xxeman445xx Here's the thing. Please hear me out.
She encourages you to become Elden Lord.
If you do become Elden Lord, and you believe her lies, then she's in good with someone in a position of significant power.
If you fail, she tells you flat-out _"If you fail to claim your throne, you can always pay me a visit./ Even my dullest pupils will always have a place here."_
She says to Jerren as she fights him... _"Join the school. To reflect on your mistake."_
A Graven School is a mass of sorcerers (willingly or not) lumped into a massive sphere.
Sellen pioneered this technique, and was exiled from the academy for what she did.
It's true that she didn't outright attack the player character. It would be short-sighted of her to do so. As I said before, if you succeed in your quest to become Elden Lord, she can use her influence over you.
But, if you fail, and return to her, I have no doubt that she would use your body and your mind as fuel for her experiments.
She used similar language when threatening Jerren.
Sellen did it before, she did it again. Only, this time, she incorporated herself into the mass that she created, and paid the price.
She should've just become a Spirit Jellyfish to explore the cosmos like our little Jelly friend and her sister.
Helping my lil spirit jelly friend find her sister and set off to see the stars made me happy. A little spot of light in a relentlessly dark and brutal world.
Or shack up with Radahn and ride shotgun on Leonard
I think being a Jellyfish might be limited by age 🤔
That encounter should have ended with our summon evolving into 2 Jellies. 😢
@@Cleptomancer well there is a species of jellyfish in nature that is essentially immortal.
i think it's interesting to note that sellen is still able to teach sorceries after her transformation. function and story relevance are hand in hand in elden ring, and this seems to imply that she is not, in fact, broken by what she sees. she is simply unable to verbalize it. the same way azur and lunar were still able to recognize the tarnished and impart a gift, sellen is still in there.
Yes. It’s also interesting that when you pick up comet Azur from Azur and lusat’s staff or whatever you get from them, the items don’t appear as glowing souls, you interact with them and they give them to you, even though they don’t talk to you. These sorcerers are approaching perhaps the origin of the magic they yearn to harness-stone (see imp lore, gravity sorceries, etc)
I always assumed she "ascended" to a new form one with glintstone/cosmos, idk why everyone assume she is dead or lobotomized
@@lordbertox4056 I mean I feel like it is a pretty understandable assumption just by looking at her abominable form haha
You could just keep her essence in your pocket and now you've got a pet rock to talk to
"If I had a rune for every time we got a small version of an NPC to carry around and talk with, I'd have two runes. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it's happened twice."
@@Umbra_Ursusmust've been awkward having both of them in the same bag.
I suppose you could also just place her essence in a mason jar, then add your own "essence", 4chan-style.

When Sellen said she would "swear allegiance to the new monarch" and asked us to "reveal the secrets of the Elden Ring," I got so excited at the thought of a special ending where the academy would study the Elden Ring and basically become gods. Ushering in an age even more enlightened than what Radagon's Golden Order ever could.
And then she fucking died. So not cool FromSoft.
Exactly
Which ever ending you choose, which ever questline you did, in the end you're once again maidenless.

If we help Sellen she says "Jerren, bringer of my PEW PEW PEW" is all i heard.
Lmfao, i listen to these as podcasts so this cracksd me up
I love how she always respect our choices, she always ask, not command, and respect us if we walk different path, i wish there was a way to cure her.
Sellen is one of the more fleshed out characters, and I really enjoy her quest. I definitely wish it ended differently,it would have been interesting for her to have her own ending. A primal current, scarlet rot, and blasphemy ending all would have been cool.
What would that ending even be? Every ending is in juxtaposition to the changing the Elden Ring, destroying/Replace it. To change the state of the Lands Between. Sellen’s goals has nothing to do changing that.
Heck she’s literally says she would serve you if you became Elden Lord because you could have access to information that being connected to the Elden Ring could provide. Outside of some reference to her in any, not destructive ending(Omen, Frenzy), why would see have an ending for herself.
There’s a 3rd ending to the quest which lets her remain in charge
You can side with Jerren and kill her
Imagine having Sellen as a spirit summon! Super aggressive but squishy mage summon that knows stars of ruin AND comet azur
@@TheSophisticatedAxolotlsource: I made it the fuck up!
It’s quite interesting that she is the only clump of glintstone crowns that can speak to us, perhaps she was into something, but that the amount of pure mental strength and willpower needed to truly understand the un-understandable.

If you don't do the Lusat part she won't turn into a Graven Stone. She will take control of the academy and swear loyalty to you. With this and Nepheli you have two large regions under control.
Apparently so, but she will reside there in place of Rennala until you complete her quest, preventing you from respecing your character with a larval tear.
I needed this 2 hours ago... sigh
I also needed this...2 hours ago 😢
but dont you need to find lusat first to advance her quest until she moves to raya lucaria's Rennala's main room?
@@brandon2173 No you don't.
Sellen with all her wisdom, power, and hubris stared into the abyss and when it stared back, she still blinked, cracking her psyche forever. Leave the cosmos alone
huh? she is literally ascended and can still talk and teach us, she has become what she wanted, one with glintstone to study the cosmos
Kinda off topic but i feel there could have been this multi npc questline where throughout your journey you help install high lords/ladies. Like Nepheli and Sellen where they pledge allegiance to the new lord and the legacy dungeon stops being hostile.
Sellen: "finally the academy is ours."
Me on a Sith playthrough: "yes... ours. About that."
She was so preoccupied with whether or not she COULD she never bothered to think if she SHOULD.
I assumed Sellen commissioned Seluvis for the body. They both have their own schemes against Ranni and the Carian Royal family.
Despite Sellen disliking Seluvis, she still needed a new body.
It's really important to meet Jerren before Radahn Festival and also work with Seluvis to get the full story.
It's similar to missing out if you didn't work with Rogier before meeting Ranni.
It's worth noting that unlike regular ones, her graven mass actually has her "face" (the glintstone crown) on it.
I think the interesting thing is that one of the spells you can get if you complete Sellen's questline (putting her onto the path to becoming a Graven Mass) is the Shard Spiral, a failed attempt at creating a new comet. That this spell (and the Glintstone Kris which is more associated with Rennala and Radagon's marriage and what it meant for the academy itself) ends up being the ultimate reward for taking Sellen's quest to the end seems to indicate that Sellen never had what it took to glimpse into the current like Azur and Lusat and that the conspectus surrounding the Graven Schools as a means to understand the current was a failure from the start.
Sellen also comes off as a foil to Thops in this case: Sellen was a remarkably gifted sorceress with a crown to show for it, while Thops was regarded as a bluntstone. Both of their questlines ends with you in the possession of new magic but Thops the bluntstone's discovery ends up redefining the way glintstone sorceries fundamentally work that the academy ended up recognizing his brilliance as the founder of a new conspectus due to his spell. Shard Spiral, as effective as it is in combat, is ultimately recognized as just another spell of the Karolos conspectus and her attempt to glimpse into the current through her own study into the Graven Schools doesn't even award you a primeval sorcery for the effort.
Its interesting that Sellen only transforms into a garven school after acquiring the body of Lusat. The graven schools usually mostly consist of olivinus conspectus sorcerors, Lusat's conspectus. Perhaps Lusat or his followers set a trap on his body to exact some vengeance?
There is a way to keep her alive, don't tell her of Lusat's whereabouts, just carry on her quest, help her get her new form and defeat Jerren, she will take the spot of Renalla and willbgive you the normal dialogue about becoming elden lord, just don't mention Lusat to her.
Thank you
Then you don't get her helmet.....nahhhhh imma still tell her
@@mhead1117cruel asf😭
What's interesting, is that Seluvis' doll is _not_ a perfect copy of Sellen. It has all the same clothing, but the face under the mask is totally different. Considering how Seluvis is making his dolls, it's likely that Sellen just gets to pilot someone else's body.
Also, I'm pretty sure Renalla is directly called "full-moon witch" somewhere. I think it was Miriel who called her that.
I remember that, but I thought it was just "moon witch"
I thought I remembered Rennala being called the full moon witch but couldn't find the line and didn't want to assume so thank you! It's actually funny, the new face has some differences such as the skin and hair color but outside of that the sliders are almost exactly the same with a couple alterations to I believe the nose and chin. We used both helmetless looks in the video.
@@square-table-gaming I think Seluvis tried to get someone who's similar in appearance to the original Sellen's body, but couldn't get the exact match.
I was always curious as to how there were two simultaneously living sellens in Limgrave and WP while later she acts like she NEEDS her primal glintstone
E: “merely a projection” never focused much on her dialog
I just made a connection.... The Graven Mass is basically the exact same thing the Jars are. Thats why its a punishment AND banned because it can give birth to a person as strong as Marika, a Saint
16:58 Lusat and Azure arent dead, you literally see them move when they hand over their sorceries to you. Their clintstone crowns have fused into their head, its a side effect of coming into contact with glintstone, first the mind breaks, as seen in the description of stars of ruin and comet Azure, and then the body itself becomes glintstone.
Its cosmic horror at its basics, you gain knowledge and perhaps some new strength (strong spells in this case) but you lose everything else
They still gave their lives for knowledge. Also, it seems as though Sellens consciousness is the only one that remains in the end, so it's safe to say by the end of the quest they are properly dead. I always interpreted their passing down their spells as their final act before passing on, which is why when their bodies are taken to the academy, their armor sets are left behind.
Btw if you pan your camera to the top-back of the Graven Mass you can see her head
Recently completed Sellens quest (this is still my first play through 😂). As sad and heartbreaking as the end is it remains one of my favorites and has themes I love to see in stories (especially Lovecraftian themes). Brilliant video!!
I must re think my existence on why I bought this game. Only suffering after suffering. Rip Sellen and Thops 😭😭😭
I think In an odd way, sellen is grateful for her transformation she got to experience the primordial current and tap into it making her own (don't know if more powerful) spell leaving behind a legacy for knew mages to harness without the sacrifice of tapping into the primordial current. Not only that but in a lot of mythology three is a sign of the holy trinity so my idea and hope anyway is she was shaped into some unknown god in the primordial current with the fusing of her body and the other two. It also shows sellen fully absorbed their knowledge and wisdom.
Sellen is a very interesting character because it leaves the player asking what is beyond the husk of her vessel is she in the primordial current did she get what she wanted and the player will never know. But my belief is that she became one of the few people to harness and become one with the primordial current. One would imagine she's grateful to experience such a blessing after devoting her life to figuring it all out even if it didn't become anything grand.
My search for deeper knowledge (of Elden Lore) lead me to this channel.
I just hope I don't delve to deep that I turn into a graven mass. Such a sad ending.
Great storytelling. Definitely earned my sub. 👍
Thank you!
The primeval sorcerers aren't dead, per-say: They actually hand you their magic, if you look closely at them. By a similar hand, Sellen has kinda hit the mark: She seems to still have some function, meaning that, yes, it's a matter of power to grasp the current well holding onto oneself... The problem being that that'd seemingly take infinitely more power than can be grasped by a few mages and a tarnished.
And yeah, sad as it is, this *is* what Sellen wanted. As with the Iron Fist, it's a depressing honor to aid them in their quests.
Yesss you have to interact with them to get their items vs the items just appearing as shining objects, very much implying that they are alive
I wonder if "restore the primeval current" is a translation error and a more accurate translation would be "restore the study of the primeval current". The primeval current is something that exists outside of the Lands Between, and the only Carian who we know of who ever had the power to halt it was General Radahn, and he didn't even gain that power from his mom, he got it from an Alabaster Lord. Plus, when Sellen says "now I can restore the current", she says this AFTER Radahn is dead, at which point the current should have already resumed flowing.
Also, Renalla did have the title of "witch". Miriel specifically calls her "the great and beautiful Full Moon Witch".
So in the end Sellen failed in mastering/comprehending the primeval current just like Azur and Lusat. Im guessing in her hubris she thought she could outdo the founders but she faired no better. So in order to save her life, we should never find master Lusat?
Fared*
You can complete her quest without telling the location so she'll never become a ball.
So she can use Lusat for her ritual?
The goal is to create a being capable of seeing the truth without going mad… I’m pretty sure human sacrifice is already pretty insane.
I always thought rennala got pissed and turned sellen into the graven mass😂
Then went about her usual day of asking if you want to be reborn.
😂trueeee.
"I reached into the void, and it tied me in a knot, turned me inside out, and made sure I couldn't die so I could spend an eternity suffering"
Selvius planned to betray Ranni while housing a body of one of the Carian Royal Family's greatest foes, being Sellen. It's reasonable to hypothesize that he may have planned to bring back Sellen to aid in his betrayal.
Or he was trying to hatch his own plan to make one of the most powerful sorcerers in the world his plaything.
Ive read somewhere that he owed Sellen a favor some time ago and thus created a new doll for her to be inhabited, due to her being shackled
@@dreamybullx1I think it was the other way around? You take a letter to Sellen from Selivus and he mentions that she owes him a favor, while she says she hopes she wouldn't hear that name again
I think you have gravely misunderstood the ending. the goal of Sellen was always to become a Graven Mass. The lore behind Graven Masses is simple: Mortals cannot properly perceive the Primal Current of magic, hence the study to transcend the mortal form. a Graven Mass is a being willingly created that can perceive the Primal Current, and more importantly, it exists to gather magical power into itself to grow in power until these creatures eventually grow powerful enough to leave the planet and become the 'Seed of Stars'. She literally transforms into a being that will become one with primal magic and create an entirely new sun, with the possibility of seeing life develop on whatever worlds come to orbit in her wake. Hers might be a slow transition into a trans-mortal state, be we help her achieve her true goal. (Side note: if we had failed to become Elden Lord, I think she wanted us to join the Mass with her, and transcend together)
Sellen ultimately wanted to become the leader of the academy. She achieved that station. By turning herself into a school of graven mages, she loses that position she worked to achieve. The concept that she was trying to turn herself into a graven mass seems to run antithetical to her goal of supplanting Rennala and leading the academy in the study of the primeval current.
@@square-table-gamingThe fact that she needed her own body, and the bodies of her teachers supports the idea that she has been planning to fuse with them. My thought is that her plan was to transform *without losing her sanity and other abilities*.
In the end, it's kind of in-between. Unlike any other graven mass, she's non hostile, able to speak (a little) and even teach sorcery. But I doubt this is the exact outcome she was looking for. So in a sense it's still a failure.
In a couple different kind of ways, she reminds me of George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones' the Red Witch, she is helping another become king or "lord" of the realm because the current ones haven't been very kind to her. Also, she is the master of unknowable sorcery and uses it for her own designs, selfishly... for the night is dark and full of terrors.
As controversial as she was, I liked Sellen alot. A stern, yet cool teacher, and had we retained whatever connection Sellen had to Varre's questline, besto mommy witch. Choosing between fighting Sellen and Jerren was difficult.
Why does everyone want to save Sellen? She turned people into balls 😂
She was actually one of my favorite characters
i doubt they'd do it, fromsoft isnt that nice, but i hope the dlc allows us to continue certian questlines to alternate endings, i'd love to fight some cosmic glintstone god and be able to give its soul to sellen or something for her to truely glims the current and truely fulfil her wish
If only...I wish
I love this character. She's clearly insane, but I cant help but want her to achieve her goals. I know she ultimately gets what she deserves, but I was just left wanting to see more of her. More of Raya Lucaria under her control and what that would entail long-term. Incredible character
In my head I thought that Ranni probably just stopped by to stop Sellen from bullying mom, but now I like the idea of Sellen inflicting it on herself a lot more
Selens death hurt, she was so proud, and gave us a gift, the dagger which I kept equipped, but then that happened to her. Eldenring got seriously depressing towards the end, everyone dies, your maiden, Alexander, Selen, rogier, fia, House hoslow, and hewg loses his mind, at the end all I had left was Roderika, and Bok. The most unassuming of friends
This is one of my favorite quest lines. I read somewhere but haven’t done it that you can summon Sellen when you fight the wolf in the academy if you’ve advanced her quest line enough.
I am also a huge fan of Jerren and hope we see him in the DLC
You can, if you do her questline far enough. She barely survived the fight, but she definitely lived through, even if barely. 😁
This was great, I really wondered what happened. I thought Rennala jumped her and caused that to happen to her
I love her character, she really is the Voldemort of Raya Lucaria.
Damn. I wish we could somehow save sellen from becoming a ball of graven mass nightmare. Really got attached to her even tho she's mass murderer.
Just continue her quest without finding Lusat. She will stay normal but will continue to ask for help. By not completing the quest, she can be spared.
@@soldierinsane2689too bad I already finished her questline and turn her into a graven mass. If only I've known it sooner
Rennalla is also the Full Moon Witch.
Yes! A commenter confirmed that line came from Miriel. I half remembered this while writing the script but couldn't find the voice line so I didn't want to assume.
Both Iji and Jerren believe that Sellen is a villain. Iji calls her a Carian weed and wants Jerren to finish her off. Jerren says 'countless' sorcerers' fell to her hand, and he refers to her as the most dangerous mage in the academy's history.
Even though she is charming and useful to the Tarnished on our quest, definitely a cool NPC, it seems she is the Voldemort of Raya Lucaria. She can't even die if her body is destroyed - her 'primal glintstone' must be destroyed, since, like Voldemort, her soul or essence resides there, an object that's separate from her body. I don't think is a one for one, but she is certainly power-hungry. I think she recognizes the potential for power in the Tarnished, a link with the new Elden Lord.
Her becoming a graven mass is fitting - her previous apprentices were probably left in the same state.
Ngl. When I first got through sellens questline, I thought she got beaten by renalla, as she used the amber egg and its power of reincarnation to punish selen by turning her into the graven mass.
I know that idea has been floated around but Rennala hasn't given us any reason to believe she can even act with malice at this point. When we face her she has no interest in fighting us and her 2nd phase is just a projection of Rannis.
The big ball of all time!
Top three big balls

2.Tarnished balls

I am now forming my own theory of the Blood Star because of this video. Graven masses are the seeds of stars. All three sorcerers channel a lot of magic which caused glintstone to be grown on their bodies.
Red glintstone can only be formed by sacrifices and blood. Mad tongue alberich has red glintstone growing on his body.
How many lives would it take to form the Blood Star with this method?
Personally I had to side with Jerren. Yeah, you get better stuff from Sellen, but I was thinking about it morally. We really don’t know how Sellen truly viewed us. Sure, she acts nice, but that’s manipulation 101. Meanwhile it’s blatantly obvious that Jerren is just a genuinely sincere guy who wants to help the Carian Royal Family. Plus he was friends with Radahn (my favorite demigod)
Man it was sad killing Jerren, now that I read your commnet 😂.
I always figured ranni the witch punished sellen and put her in that state and reinstated her mother back in charge of of the school
Her end is harsh but i would say if she was given a chance she would do it again. To keep researching, rather then rot in jail and be killed by that guy.
Fortunately no one at STG became mindless or imprisoned in a graven mass for this episode
Sellen doesn't turn into a ball. I think the carians just extracted her primal glintstone and put it into the ball where she can't do any harm.
To be fair she kinda deserved it.
11:02 am I crazy or does the shape inside the primal glintstone look like an embryo?
It absolutely does. Definitely intentional.
I think there's a LOT of murderous subtext that gets overlooked, because Sellen is so decent and loyal to us. But clearly her victims endured something awful, based on her infamy. More interestingly, the general perception is that the second body she uses is a doll, but I don't think this is the case. I think it's a body - the body of another. She mentions how young and full of vigour it is, and that it isn't the first time she's stolen a body. It reminds me of Morrigan's mother in Dragon Age, or Papa Justify/Mama Cecile from the Skeleton Key. She steals young women's bodies, to continue her own life. And she's does it so causally, she doesn't even hide it. She is, quite literally, heartless.
Sellen is a monster and a psychopath. She just happens to be really nice to US.
The turtle pope calls Rennala "a great and powerful full moon witch" So Rennala definitely had a witch title too.
Very atmospheric video, thanks!
I appreciate it! I try to make my videos as immersive as possible.
I feel bad for selling so much after the end of her quest i was like oh no sellen! I like her so much!
There never seems to be a happy ending for anyone in this game.
Sellen could've used her knowledge and wisdom to become a great Headmistress of the Academy. But in her pursuit of knowledge, she threw all caution to the wind and reduced herself to a husk of stone.
Whatever knowledge she's learning about The Primeval Current, she's in no state to share with us that knowledge. Nor can she put that knowledge to any use. Sellen will spend the rest of her life as a simi-cognitive mass of rock.
Elden Ring is my first Fromsoft game, and Im on my first playthrough. After Sellen briefly took over the Academy and told me she would pledge allegiance if I became Elden Lord. I got excited there might be an ending where I end up with her, but I rested at the site of grace and found her in her new form. It broke my heart. I will become Elden Lord for my mistress.

watching this makes me wonder if it was better to just stay as tadpole.
She was a grafter of the minds of her apprentices. In essence the female version of Godrick the grafted.
I definitely feel like she’s becoming an Astel
Just wanted to add, Miriel specifically refers to Rennala as the "Full Moon Witch", confirming your supposition.
Was so sad to find her meatball form );
Sounds similar to the shaman village situation
did anyone ever try to do thops questline in the middle of this?
in my mind it would be funny if including thops right before she became a magic-ball could maybe complete the project.
instead of both "failing" the could help each other
but i guess it from software and gorge RR martin so all people die.
Part of me, for no real reason, feels it was done on purpose to herself. Yes, she sounds pained and struggles to speak, but that may be due to the physical change. She wanted this bit didnt quite grasp the reality of it until she accomplished it.
I also find the idea funny, imagining rennala just kinda.. watching sellen transform and then rolling her off to the side 😂

@@square-table-gaming 😊
Ur the man been asking for this since I first subbed. Keep it up.
... Yo... So... Is Sellen also attached the Sellia, Town of Sorcery? Because by now it seems like every faction across The Lands Between have had their fingers in that pot.
Interestingly nothing in her lure really connects her to Celia aside from Lusat being her master. It's possible they studied in the town, but it's more likely that she studied with him at the academy.
@@square-table-gaming Gotcha. Sorry for asking such a random question, it's just... When I look at that town, I see, like, a knot on my sticker board.
The Children of Rot, Assassin Sorcery, the Nox, Alabastor Lords, Radahn, Ranni, the Haima conspectus, the Black Knives, etc.
I just feel like there's something there that I'm missing to connect it all, and if Sellen was connected to Sellia(same base word in the name of the town and the lady), that might explain something...
Like, it's a congregation of knowledge or something.
@@AlriikRidesAgain no worries we accept any and all questions
Hmm, let's follow the line of reasoning.
The theming strongly indicates a connection even without it being explicitly stated. Mages of Sellia delve into the arcane in secrecy, and this is exactly her MO.
Given that Rennala put an end to her experiments at Raya Lucaria, why do we find her imprisoned in the Weeping Peninsula rather than in Raya Lucaria? It seems whatever measures the academy took, Sellen was able to go elsewhere before being caught.
Sellia is in Caelid where we first meet Jerren at the Radahn festival. Then he is the one who knows where she is imprisoned. Clearly he was involved in her capture.
It's likely he did so in Caelid since he was bound to Redmane Castle until the festival is complete. So it follows that Sellen was continuing her experiments in Sellia, Jerren caught wind of it, and chased her to the peninsula where she was jailed.
What are Jerren's motives? It could be a simple mercenary gig, but he's tied to Radahn who has a grudge against the stars. Sellen is meddling with the primeval current, the life within the stars. So Radahn and anyone bound to his ideals would seek to prevent her from succeeding.
That also explains why she was merely imprisoned and only killed once the star crashed down. She's seen as a threat now that the power of a star is nearby, which she may have had a part in bring down from Jerren's perspective.
@@NickCombs Fascinating. Now, when "The Star Falls And Her Fortune Turns For The Worse", that's... That's in regard to the Ranni Quest Astel Meteor, right? The one Ranni's destiny was tied to, that Radahn held in place to secure the fate of Sellia?
So... Do you think there was a guiding hand behind the Starscourge Conflict? Because it's feeling that way to me. Give me a couple hours and I'll present my findings if you'd like.
The grandmasters are worthy of a video of their own. The two founded the academy and I presume they built it. It’d be speculative tho, as they can no longer speak. My theory is they are alive and well, becoming something of a fusion between the crystallians and people, allowing them to hone the primeval current at the cost of their mobility. At one point, they were even meant to use spells in their current form. They don’t need to, as they areinvulnerable to attack
Only thing I could never understand is how sellen became a graven mass. Did renalla do it or did sellen mess up and do it to herself.
Sellen absolutely did it to herself. She was planning to use the bodies of azur, Lusat, and jerren somehow thinking that would perfect her theory and prevent her from becoming the ball. It seems like it half worked, she's sentient, but that makes it worse.
@@square-table-gaming haha crazy . Ya I thought renalla might of did something since sellen said she got rid of her. But how cuz she just seems interested in her egg. Thanks for the video
@@robertsoto5713 that's what we're here for
She is making progress though. I imagine if ranni or rennalla tried they might be successful as they are even more powerful sorcerers.
I love her voice actress
I very rarely critique from but with this quest.... jesus they buchered the end so hard. I know they did not had the time to finish it , its pretty clear but i would have LOVED to see a more dyamic end for quest. The only problem for me is the end. I mean that you chose to help or not it changes nothing. I mean i would at least imagine a reaction from ranni about the fact you literally overthrow the rule of the mother, wich its clear she dosent care very much about the crown but i mean... still his moma yo ! Pretty shure though that is Ranni whom put the breaks to the Sellen quest but even then they could have put it more clear and i know they thought about wich is even worst, i know is only a matter of time
I really hope that the DLC it is gonna be like the scholar of the first sin but for elden ring because a lot of quest have the same problem too much cut content at this round!
Incredible content, thank you so much for all your efforts
Ooooh, I’m gonna sleep good TONIGHT! 💖 Loved Sellen! 💖
Glintstone Sorcerer->Graven School->Void Incubation->Meteor Fall->Starbeast->Astel 💅
She's been making star beasts as experiments. It's she maintains the Sellian Crystal tunnel shortcut in Limgrave.
And probably why she founded Sellia.
I kinda wish she turned into a Spirit Summon
I love her! I hope to see her as a companion in the DLC. All healed and well. 💙🌟👑🌟❤️
Sellen should at least become a summons spirit like the albinauric woman. I like her.😢
There are a few graven masses in the concentrated snowfield. I could never figure out why.
I think it's possible that selling could have had some of her failed experiments put there. Nothing in the lower says she's ever been to the consecrated snow field but we know she's responsible for the graven masses so it would make sense
@@square-table-gamingi think it is reasonable to assume that the graven masses were there before Sellen did anything since astrology is the basement of glintstone magic and its stated that everything started at the mountains Tops. Maybe those graven masses were the pioneers of those studies.
@@square-table-gamingappreciate the reply. Great video as usual.
I didn't doomed her, she did it by herself i just followed orders
Bring on more lore! Bring on the madness!
Bro what were they doing at that academy!?
All kinds of shit man, it's ugly.
I guess I always assumed Rennala put her in the mass as punishment, not that she put herself in it. 🤷♀️🤔
Her goals and past strongly indicate that it's something Sellen did to herself. Rennala doesnt seem capable of malice at this point she is thoroughly absorbed in her amber egg
@@square-table-gaming totally agree now that I've watched! It's crazy how much you miss when trying to do so many things in the game!
@@twinlyplays for real. I can't count how many times I've played through at this point and there's always more to explore.
I hope they continue her story in the dlc
I tried to raise grievances with the HR of Raya Lucaria, but I was attacked on sight... 0/10 - would not recommend studying there.
A fate worse than death
Bout to watch the SHIT outta this!
I absolutely loved your video
What will the 100th Elden Lore be? Something special 😏
We are actually tackling a topic for episode 100 that I've wanted to do for a long time. The character in question is a man of unbreakable resolve.
