  • I like to share my mistakes as it shows how dumb I can be and yet build a strong safe airplane. And it shows how easy it is to fix mistakes when building with wood.

Thanks Tim! This is very encouraging. It shows that most things are fixable.

    TIM!!!
My Loehle Sport Parasol wing looks very similar, it is almost 30 years old and I am making minor repairs to recover it, but I have issues, I am going to make a video for you to look at and consult on for FREE :) If you will.

I still have no idea what was wrong with it exactly. The rear spar, the angle to it was a 1/4 of an inch back? It was "that direction 1/4 inch"?

If you looked straight onto the front of the leading edge, the root was perfectly straight and square from the main spar to the trailing edge... But the rear spar had slid to the left ¼".

I'm with you. From the video I have no idea which frame is showing what is wrong. Is the rear spar issue north to south, or east to west? I don't understand why the ribs are being cut loose if it is merely slid past the end rib a quarter of an inch. Couldn't the end be trimmed off?
