Idk why ppl gotta make this issue of salvation complicated when Christ made it so very simple.... you either believe the gospel or you don't!. We don't ever look to ourselves for assurance you will never find it there. Anyone that points you to yourself and your behavior/lifestyle for assurance or evidence of salvation.......Run!!!... The enemy wants u to doubt what God has alrdy promised and guaranteed for you! it is finished, done deal! it stunts our spiritual growth when we doubt God promises to us! Knw that is frm the enemy to cause fear and doubt constantly in you! And he uses these so called teachers to do it!

@Sage , I assume because the majority of people are wrong (asleep)😅 and their path is wide.
The narrow way is the path of those who think for themselves, and not easily deceived while following the ways of Christ, and not man.

@Sage Please read Matt. 7 which has that verse in it. 12] Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
[13] Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
[14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. FOR THIS IS THE LAW IS SAYS.
Christ was speaking to his fellow Jews under the law. That gate is the like the door. The promised Kingdom has a wall and so there is a door to get in. John.10 [1] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
John 10 [15] As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
[16] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
[17] Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
[18] No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
[19] There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings. AMONG THE JEWS. Christ was speaking to the Jews under the law not us. We are not under the law as Christ commanded his followers AT THAT TIME to obey. Read Acts 15 which exposes two systems of salvation. It was decreed AT THAT TIME that the apostle Paul did not have to preach the Law of Moses to the Gentiles but that the Gentiles had to observe four things so the Jews would not be offended. And it was never brought up that the Jews had to believe in the death and resurrection and the blood He shed for the forgiveness of sins. It was never brought up how we are baptized into the death and resurrection of Christ which seals our salvation from wrath and gives us eternal life. 1Cor. 15, Romans 5&6

Paul was being harrassed for not bringing the requirements of obeying the Law of Moses in his preaching to the Gentiles. It was decreed by the Jewish churches elders that Paul only request that his converts follow 4 things. Things that a Jew would find totally appalling. If the Jews have to obey the Law and Gentiles only have to believe in the gospel according to that gospel that Paul taught which was not revealed until Paul received it from Christ and revealed it. "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway" 1 Corinthians c9 v27. Clearly, Paul was concerned about losing his salvation after preaching and winning souls for Christ.

I went to the front of the cross as my grandma always told me to do she said you go straight to the throne a picture of his blood dripping on you I got saved in The chapel at a hospital my grandma wasn't doing good we have a big family and family was starting to feed and I was getting ready to grab a hold of one of my nieces and her mom and just tear them up I was a baby girl six brothers and military family my grandpa was in world war II my dad Vietnam three brother uncles Vietnam nephews Iraq praise God they all came home... But as I approached them something picked me up and took me right past them and I ended up in the chapel and I went right up to the front of the chapel where the steps are just a little chapel little hospital and I hit my knees and I pictured myself at the foot of the cross just his grandma always told me to do and my mother the Lord knew I would have probably hurt them the boys I went through their boot camp I'll put it that way they wanted to make sure I could defend myself but I just started praying and talking to him begging for forgiveness and telling him I wasn't Worthy none of us are and I confessed sins that I couldn't even remember that I don't even remember today and then of course my grandma I said Lord if it's your will then she'll be gone I'm not ready to lose her but you will be done and I was down there on my knee for a good hour and a half and I'm talking not flying tears flying I wasn't playing and he knew my heart he knew and when I came up I was a different person everybody in the hospital can see it on my face they knew before I could say a word and about 2 weeks later my grandma passed away and she was the rock of the foundation that is the honest truth but she told me that the family would never be the same.
And she was right it was like I was walking on air there is no high in the world like Jesus none now I've never done those street drugs never I did drink and I have a severe panic and anxiety disorder so they would have me on Xanax or Klonopin which I would abuse them I quit smoking weed I've never picked weed up again I quit drinking and never drank again oh I did I'd try I drink one or two and I don't want it but it wasn't me but I'd cuss like a sailor and I guess after she died and nobody was really there to say you know it's a relationship you have to have a relationship with him you know I had the holy Spirit I knew that I mean you could see it on my face that's what I want back I may never get that back I backslid for many years so when people say once saved always saved I have to say I don't know about that because when I backslid and without their partying and popping nerve pills and drinking and I divorced my husband because he was cheating on me so I had a few boyfriends well that's fornication we weren't married it wasn't like I was sleeping around I just had a couple boyfriends for a few years but we were not married so it's fornication I don't believe I would have went to heaven sometimes I will just sit here and praise him just raising because he deserves all the praise he can get and those Sephram angels I could just imagine..... So yes I do get a little scared sometimes and I've begged for forgiveness Lord I'm sorry I left you I'm sorry but I would fight somebody in a minute over the Lord you did not want to get into a conversation with me about Jesus when I backslid... So I understand you guys are saying I do but Jesus loves us okay I'm sorry for the punctuation I have severe rheumatoid arthritis so I can't punctuate everything I used talk to text a couple people has made some pretty rude comments and I just explained to him I'm sorry I apologize I can't help it but the Lord has performed miracles in my family miracles I could go on probably for another 20-30 minutes but it was nice chatting with you... They said backslider is like The prodigal son we came back that's all that matters God bless you and your family now when I get upset or aggravated I didn't stop and look up and say the Lord is my shepherd and I just calm down.....

*_Once saved, always saved?_* Jesus said we must endure to the end to be saved (Matthew 10:22).
If we're _honest,_ we should not be saying we're already saved. The apostle Paul made it very clear that believers have "the hope of salvation" and have not yet obtained salvation:
    ■ "But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ" (Paul, in 1 Thessalonians 5:8,9).
We will not be saved - saved from ever perishing - until we receive the promised gift of eternal life (1 John 2:25) at Jesus' return (1 Peter 1:13; 1 Cor 15:50-54; 1 Thess 4:13-17). Short of actualy receiving eternal life, we'll perish. Unsaved.
In this mortal life we can enter *_justification_* - right-standing - with God. While we are abiding in Jesus in repentance, following the holy spirit, we are in justification -not under condemnation:
    ■ "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Romans 8:1)
While we remain in justification we are "in His goodness" or grace, and we have that "hope of salvation." But we can also fall away from justification, no longer "in His goodness" or grace. We'll forfeit that hope of salvation. We have plenty of warnings NOT TO LET THAT HAPPEN. For example:
    ■ "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6)
You must first *_be_* a branch before you can be "cast forth as a branch" or "cut off." And obviously we *_can_* be "cast forth" after becoming a branch. *Jesus did not say "once a branch, always a branch"!* It's nothing less than delusional to think you're "saved" even after being "cast forth as a branch" and "burned."
    ■ "For if God spared not the natural branches [the Israelites], take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." (Romans 11:21,22)
That's right: we CAN be cut off. "IF thou continue in his goodness" means we CAN FAIL to continue in his goodness or grace. Let's not ignore the ifs and the warnings, dismissing them because we think we're already saved.
Jesus clearly warned what would happen to servants who returned to sin:
    ■ "But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers." (Jesus, in Luke 12:45,46)
"Once saved, always saved," with "eternal security"? Apparently not.
Sins "all paid for, past, present and future"? Apparently not.
That servant was going to pay for his sins himself.
The apostle Paul had the holy spirit. Paul clearly refuted "once saved, always saved": he stated it was possible for him to revert to a life of sin and therefore be rejected . . . thrown out . . . a "castaway":
    ■ "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." (1 Corinthians 9:27)
There's a message there for all who have been misled to believe that having the holy spirit is a "guarantee" of your salvation. We must remain in repentance, choosing to be *_led_* by the holy spirit -not just having it and ignoring it. Note the "ifs":
    ■ "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (Romans 8:13,14)
If - _after overcoming sin through knowing Jesus_ - a person then returns to a life of sin, "the latter end is worse with them than the beginning":
    ■ "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." (2 Peter 2:20-22)
While we remain in justification, Jesus remains our advocate with the Father (1 John 2:1) and covers - present tense - any new sins by His blood (1 John 1:7). What happens if we no longer abide in Him, and return to a life of un-repentant, willful sin?
    ■ "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." (Hebrews 10:26,27)
Here's more of the many warnings not to fall away. Note the "ifs" with conditions:
    ■ "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 1:10,11 )
    ■ "Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;" (Hebrews 3:12-14)
    ■ "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:" (2 Timothy 2:12)
    ■ "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;" (Colossians 1:21-23 )
It IS possible to fall away, even after being made a "partaker" of the holy spirit! There would have been no point in writing the next passage if it were impossible to fall away:
    ■ "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." (Hebrews 6:4-6)
We can "fail of the grace of God":
    ■ "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled" (Hebrews 12:14,15)
Our names CAN be blotted out of the book of life:
    ■ "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."
"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." (Revelation 3:5 and 22:19)
Judgment is on "the house of God" - His church - right now:
    ■ "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" (1 Peter 4:17)
    ■ "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it." (Hebrews 4:1)
Could it be any more clear? We CAN come short of entering into His rest!
We have warnings not to fall away for a very good reason: we CAN fall away.
Sadly, most are not being taught the difference between justification and salvation, and instead are being taught they are already saved. Then they go on to ignore all the ifs and the warnings . . . because they think they're already "saved."

Jesus Christ said remain in me and ye shall bear fruit... Without me ye can do nothing... Any tree that doesn't bear fruit is cut and destroyed.
You are only born again when you remain or abide in Christ and bear fruit.
Question is, would you be in a state of 'born again' when you die? How you meet Jesus Christ on the last day, or at death, is what matters.
That's why Christ warned us to endure unto the end. Carry the cross and follow him. Follow through the narrow gate.
We are warned not to fall but to continue or remain in the faith. Believing or being born again is a life changing thing. If your life isn't changed then you cannot be said to be born again.
It is only those who believe and abide in Christ and continue to bear fruit and endure to the end that are saved.
You don't say you're born again today and then you lock up your born again certificate in the drawer and continue living a sinful life or just like you were before and expect to go to paradise. Eternity with Christ is for those who actually believed, repented, got born gain and aligned their lifestyle with Christ's. It's not that you're perfect about it, but it's the Holy Spirit that helps you and makes you perfect. That's the grace of God. If salvation doesn't require us to change our way of life then Jesus' death on the cross is nonsense.
I'd rather abide in Christ and continue to follow him, trying my best unto the end. I know it's rough the way to paradise but he will not leave me nor forsake me. He knows my feebleness. I believe, abide and follow. He cares, guides and saves.
Once saved always saved doctrine is going to send more Christians to hell than it will send to paradise. Only lazy Christians welcome such teaching. It's confusing and misleading as it is deceiving.

I think you misperceive what OSAS believers actually believe. OSAS isn't a license to sin, instead the Holy Spirit instills faith in those who received Christ. The Holy Spirit continually draws us and advocates for us, keeping us in Christ. If it were up to us and our sinful nature, we would fall away every time. If people aren't showing repentance and faith, they haven't received the promise of salvation and the Holy Spirit.

That salvation is a free gift from God to mankind by his grace through non meriting faith not physical works so no one can boast that...
I saved myself or helped God saved me, as our faith is not a meriting work and an ability we all have from God

The early Christians taught, there are two stages to your salvation. The first stage is the gift, the gift of salvation. All your sins are wiped clean. The slate is completely clean at this point. That's when you are on the vine that's mentioned in the book of John chapter 15. But there's one more part of salvation. We have to remain on the vine, to remain in the vine Jesus said we have to produce fruits. Any branch that does not produce fruits will be cut off of the vine. And Jesus said thrown into the fire. Again stage one abide in Jesus on the vine. Stage 2, produce fruits and remain on the vine, endure to the end and you will be saved.

Fasting really helps pray, we all will struggle with past habits and things that may take a life time if ever to over come.
just repent or turn from them, seek help if you can from someone who has a testimony in that area, like drinking drugs porn hate anger adultery fornication stealing lying etc greed.
yes christians still struggle with these from time to tome, even though they know better , while we are still in the flesh, repenting each time the spirt leads us turning away, tsaking steps to flee the temptation before we get their, like a drunk should stay away from bars, and places that push booze, as that is tempting him.
If he fails he is still saved, he should repent and turn back away from the booze, remeber what made him weak pray study and aviod that temptation if possible next time, God will forgive he is faithful when we confess our sins as believers.
some can go cold turkey, some need more time some a life time, if they are believers they will know whats wrong in their heart as the holy spirit convicts and then comforts them after repentance, that trust in their lord and savior is their faith, and Jesus has them as believers.
Can they choose to fall away from the faith, the bible says yes, can they choose a false faith doctrines of devils, the bible says yes, if they no longer believe they are not saved.
But the good news is as long as they are alived and genuine God will indeed accept them back restore them as the prodcal son, who if he did not believe and returned would have been dead and a lost son.
But he repented retruned and was found and restored.

We aren't given the option to go on sinning (1 John 2:4, 3:6-9, 1 Cor 5:11-13, Hebrews 10:26-29). Truth is that we cannot possibly go on with a "I can't help it" mindset (I'd know, I'm the king of sinners) with the Holy Spirit residing in us. Are we to say that we didn't know better? We do. Are we to sin so grace may abound? God forbid it! If we sin, we have an advocate in Christ. Thank GOD. But the sweeping grace people talk about in Romans 3:21-31 actually talks about "former sins" being passed over. I don't see where "future sins" is listed. Even the early church fathers talked on "heathen repentance" being a fake one characterized by repetitious sin (see Tertullian, for example), or discussing penance for "involuntary sins" (Clement) and not even giving way for voluntary sins. All in all, we must make ourselves living sacrifices, denying ourselves and picking up our cross DAILY. We in the developed world are soft Christians... let's repent and pursue holiness unlike ever before, that we may attain to that which is eternal in Christ.

What's clear though is that the prevailing argument against OSAS is that you can sin as you please and still go to Heaven, as if the ONLY reason someone would believe in OSAS is to sin without fear. If someone would say "sure, if I couldn't lose my salvation I'd sin all day long," I'd think that would be a good indication of the lack of the salvation they feel they have to work to keep. @@jdoggmusicman That's not a true argument though. Those are based on human reasoning rather then the full word. The real argument is that we are called to repentance as a part of salvation and also to believe. Yet belief is not mearly a word you say because the demons believe. You see to bring salvation down to one phrase is the dumbest point of this whole conversation. Salvation is talked about in the bible and all scriptures must be included. Also the osas view avoids judgement all together. Thats is a big fat No! The scripture is more then clear on this, God will judge you no matter what you think about having a sure salvation. Time will tell on you and that which was done in the dark will come to light. This is why you workout your salvation. Osas as a doctrine and phrase should be removed from christian teachings and the scriptures should replace these theories of the imagination. I mean what is the difference between a saint/Christian/disciple of Christ and a sinner or person of the world? I mean we all sin but a true Christian asks for forgiveness and turns from sin and a sinner remains and/or lives in sin unrepentant. This video doesn't explain it properly and a lot of his teachings are his own views as opposed to actual Gods Word. You need to think of this like a marriage that you must maintain. We can sign a marriage license to be married but the license does not guarantee that we will remain married. We must strive every day to maintain and nurture the marriage and keep it alive and on its proper maturity. We will always have shortcomings, but that's why we must always have a heart of repentance and love towards our spouse so that we always do our part to continue to make the marriage work. The once saved always saved concept is a lie that will always lead to divorce and separation. If we love our spouse then we will do whatever it takes to take care of our relationship and when we screw up, well own up to it and get back right, well Jesus is our spouse and salvation is our marriage lisence, so we must take care of it all and do our best to make it last so that we can ensure until the end.

@Madison 07 the problem is you don't trust God as you should and your sin is not allowing you to experience the assurance you should have if you are a real christian.
I'm pretty sure you have a great plan to get back on track and prepare your self to fall over and over and over again and repeat.
You probably think that you can lose your salvation and then get it back whenever you want.
Or that its up to you to keep,
And you probably think that you are good enough to keep it.
Trust him not your works .
Going through a hard time in life full of doubts and regrets join the crowd.
The lord said we would be tested.
If you are a real christian just know that HE IS THE SAVIOR .
The reason why Christians still sin or have sin in their lives is so that they won't get all puffed up and start acting all holy and righteous like some people do,or because they just want to or they slipped
Or it just happened or the truth, we are not perfect in our selfs just in christ.
The bible clearly says, he that says he has no sin is a liar.
If you think that you fell from grace
Or that you can fall from grace you might have a trust issue because of a lack of understanding.
If I were you I would dwell in his promises
And if you are stuck in a hard place cause you cannot understand some verses or passages. Ask?. Seek. Pray.
It might be false to you but it is real to me O S A S .

You trust in what Christ done for you
Or you might find yourself saying I did this and I did that .
      I,I,I,.
I WILL TRUST IN WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR ME.
YOU CAN NOT ADD ANYTHING TO HIS GIFT OF SALVATION.
      HE CLEARLY SAID
      New International Version
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
To fall from grace is to add something or anything to salvation.
      Jesus plus nothing equals salvation.
      This is the narrow road.
Judaizers are always telling someone that they have to do something or add something for salvation.
We do not live by the written code anymore, but by the new way of the Spirit.
You can certainly fall out of God's favor, but not lose your salvation.

      ALL CHRISTIAN'S BEAR FRUIT.
Only 1 of the places where the seed fell was good soil and produced fruit.
Jesus’ explanation of the Parable of the Sower highlights four different responses to the gospel. The seed is “the word of the kingdom.” The hard ground represents someone who is hardened by sin; he hears but does not understand the Word, and Satan plucks the message away, keeping the heart dull and preventing the Word from making an impression. The stony ground pictures a man who professes delight with the Word; however, his heart is not changed, and when trouble arises, his so-called faith quickly disappears. The thorny ground depicts one who seems to receive the Word, but whose heart is full of riches, pleasures, and lusts; the things of this world take his time and attention away from the Word, and he ends up having no time for it. The good ground portrays the one who hears, understands, and receives the Word-and then allows the Word to accomplish its result in his life. The man represented by the “good ground” is the only one of the four who is truly saved, because salvation’s proof is fruit (Matthew 3:7-8; 7:15-20).

I believe i said the first video and I hope you see this. You started off saying I believe in Christ sufficiency for my salvation. You also said only real Christian are the "always saved". Which i doubt anyone would disagree with, those statements are solid doctrine based on direct scriptures. "Osas" is a made up phrase not in the Bible firstly and secondly its painfully vague which leads to more confusion. Also leads to division not because we don't agree that we shall not continue to sin, we all agree on that. The division comes from the theology of men being passed on as the word of God. Paul says shall we continue to sin? God forbid. Easy and simple. The Bible tells us over and over not to deceive ourselves. Hebrews 10 is for those who left the faith. The word is simple, preach the word. Theology is for the birds, the word is the source. God bless.

Don’t crucify me, but I understand Salvation to be permanent, but not absolute. Much like a marriage, which is permanent, but if one decides to divorce, it’s possible. Demons believe and tremble in fear. We’re saved by grace, through faith. Faith is allegiance and loyalty. Works/deeds are a subset of loyalty. If a soldier is loyal, he/she would not betray. What Ephesians 2 is referring to when it says, so that none can boast, is God’s grace. God gave us faith, and expects us to grow it, instead of burying the talent in the ground. God’s interpretation is what matters. If God doesn’t expect anything from us, then it’s called universalism, which means all are saved, and don’t have to have faith in god. Salvation is specifically for those who have loyalty/faith in Jesus. People who are loyal to other religions, or those who believe in every religion will not be saved. We all can debate until we’re blue in the face, but what if we’re wrong? If we teach Salvation is absolute, and if we’re wrong, we have given our congregation a license to sin. If we teach that it is possible to lose salvation, our congregation will have the fear of the Lord and remain in Him. The one who teaches that it’s possible to lose salvation would not have the blood of their congregation on their hands, while the one who teaches that salvation is absolute does. There’s too many scriptures that one would have to remove, in order to believe that salvation is absolute. The word Believe is a work. It’s a verb. How do we know if we won’t be one who leaves the Faith later in life, when going through tough times? It would be so convenient to believe OSAS, but I beg to differ. We entered into salvation because God first offered salvation, but only to those who did a work. That work is a part of Faith. We can’t be saved by works alone, because Ephesians 2 says it’s also by grace. We can believe in Jesus and have faith all we want, but if He didn’t have the grace to die on the cross, then there wouldn’t be salvation either

I agree with you I think you did a good job explaining it. Your take is not popular because it holds people accountable and it's not convenient to the lukewarm cottoncandy american church of prosperity. The Lord's own prophecy said the path is narrow and FEW will find it. People think it's just saying you believe but the Lord said they worship me with there mouth and lips but there heart is far from me. The devils also believe yet they remain devils. To the Jews that believed on him he didn't say hey your saved for life he said IF you continue in me you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. A lot of Christians are happy with the savior Part of Christ but not the Lord part. He is Lord and Savior he said to pick up your cross daily and follow me. Sure sounds like you must continue in faith.

You guys are spot on and I'm happy to see that there are people out there with a strong enough mind and love for God to know the truth and not be afraid to say it. Once saved always saved is a false teaching and a lie from the pits of hell to lead people into hell. To me it just seems so obvious that we will have to maintain our relationship with God to inherit His Kingdom, believing in Him alone isn't the whole shabang, I always like to use the example about getting married... Can we say, "once married always married"? No! We can't, because if you don't maintain your relationship with your spouse you can become divorced and separated. Well Jesus is our spouse, He's our Bridegroom...and we maintain our marriage with Him by not only believing and faith, but also with devotion, loyalty, a seeking of further levels, constant repentance and humility, obedience to His commandments as well as His every day orders... I wish people weren't so naive, but most just like you guys said, love the lukewarm fake comfort of once saved always saved because they're selfish and lazy and don't want to have to do anything to be fruitful or fight in God's army. Well there's going to come a time where He'll say, depart from me because I never knew you.

    “. . . return backslider” Heb 3:14,
“...if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him” Heb 10:38
“. . . be on guard so that you are not carried away“ 2 Peter 3:17; 1 Tim 4:1
“. . . they are again entangled in them and overcome . . . For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness . . .” 2 Per 2: 20-21
“But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith . . .” 1 Tim 4:1
And what is holiness and its value to you?
    Colossians 1:21-23
21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of HIS FLESH THROUGH DEATH, TO PRESENT YOU HOLY, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight- 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
How is it that you are so certain that someone cannot become so discouraged and overwhelmingly doubtful that they discontinue in the faith?
“The latest high-profile Christian personality to renounce his faith is Paul Maxwell, the well-known "Desiring God" writer. Maxwell said on his Instagram feed: ‘What I really miss is connection with people. What I've discovered is that I'm ready to connect again. And I'm kind of ready not to be angry anymore. I love you guys, and I love all the friendships and support I've built here. And I think it's important to say that I'm just not a Christian anymore…’”

There were several others. Why do you believe that all those who claim to once have believed cannot fall away, give up the fight, feel that the struggle causes them to sacrifice self too much and quit. I pondered what my life would look like if I began to live as if I answered to no one. The way you all teach makes one feel that it is acceptable to give it a try for a while because you know that God will bring you back. That is dangerous!!! What if after choosing to experience a more sinful life, they die? Where does this person go? Because they chose to denounce the ways of God without having come back, what happens to their soul?
I believe the Lord is not to be played with. We are to cherish the relationship and His ways; once having experienced that and choosing to “do you,” you just may be DONE.
Just because the atonement is done (Jesus did His part), doesn’t mean that we are not charged with sanctification. Why then do we continue to ask for forgiveness (some repent, some don’t)? We ask for forgiveness because we demonstrate that we understand our brokenness and how we would remain in it had it not been for Jesus. But if you continue to “do you” to pleasure yourself in ungodly ways without repenting, what is that? That is choosing to walk away. That is refusing to turn away from sin.
Many Israelites walked away without repentance and paid for it because their faith waned. Why then are we not able to be judged by our not choosing Jesus any longer? Israel experienced God firsthand - in the physical and spiritual, YET SOME FELL AWAY.
Just as they needed to repent (turn away) of their wicked ways, so do we. Just asking for forgiveness does not seal it. We are charged to turn away from sin and do things God’s way.
     Fornication
     Lying
 Allowing yourself to use foul language without effort to change
 Pride (people excuse themselves all the
 Vanity (believers are just as caught up in the mirror as the world)
 Greedy (validating the need for a whole room for their clothing and shoes)
 Looking for attention (must have the flashy car, the latest amenities, newest iPhone, show how much they spent on their clothing
 Selfishness (“doing you” and not caring if others are hurt or your misrepresentation of Christ)
It is a daily sacrifice; anything else is disobedience. Obedience is better than sacrifice because Christ took care of the ultimate sacrifice. However, we are still called to sacrifice self and die daily. To obey is sacrifice and disobedience must be checked by one’s self. There is always work to do. What we do demonstrates who we are OR HAVE BECOME.
And I do not make a dogmatic claim because I know that my knowledge and understanding pales to the TRUTH. Some believers are puffed up and speak as if they don't /can't err regarding some doctrine. PRIDE IS REAL!!! I merely mention this because many believers get to the point where they will swear that what they speak and understand is undisputable and follow with "I'm open to being wrong if someone can prove me wrong." That statement could be considered prideful - and your persona demonstrates pride to me. People may present evidence all day, but if the evidence is up for interpretation, there is no bona fide way to prove or disprove. As I always say, just stop speaking with such certainty about certain issues. Why not just encourage believers to endure and not wane in faith - JUST LIKE THE APOSTLES DID - THEY ENCOURAGED US TO ENDURE!!! COULD THERE BE GOOD REASON FOR THIS?

No one thinks you can lose it.
      Lose is an unconscious decision.
Falling away from the faith, apostasy, walking away, not believing anymore are all conscious decisions and choices, so why do people keep saying lose which implys on accident without knowledge misplaced etc?
They non osas people think God is not a Calvinist God and does not determine who ahead of time who will be saved and who will be damned before humans existed.
They also believe that once you accept Jesus Christ you do not lose the free will to one day fall away from the faith reject Christ, reject belief in Jesus, which is the faith, and commit apostasy which we are warned not to do through the New testament.
Jesus says people in the faith will fall away from the faith that's as simple as it gets, he does not say once saved always saved.
Salvation is conditional, based on belief in Jesus that's in the faith in him in Christ Jesus.
.by God grace through faith which is not a work but an ability all men have, so we can't boast either way.
.that's why we must continue in belief to the end to be saved.
. God is not a Calvinist God that forces humans to believe or withholds their ability to believe not before creation, not after you are saved.
Or then your belief is a false belief, and his judgement would be unfair to all of those who do not belief because they are not forced with irresistible grace which is forced salvation hyper grace once saved always saved don't repent sin freely licence to sin man made doctrines, designed to give false hope to those headed to hell if they do not repent and be restored to true belief, at the worst and to creat lazy Luke warm fruitless christians at the least bad.
Both are terrible and Satan loves it.
If once saved always saved is true then once damned always damned by definition would also have to be true, and that's Calvinism which says before you were born you were either a respected person to God and predestination primarily saved you not Jesus except as a secondary cause dependent in the primary cause of your salvation, predestination , so should we pray to predestination or God respecting us over others for no apparent reason, it just has to come to pass in time ?
.then the majority of people are made for wrath and destruction because God withholds saving grace, so even Jesus can't save them if he wanted to, because again they are predestined to hell made for hell and cannot believe.
, in hyper calvinism like James white teaches even the sins rape murder evil thoughts the fall of Satan Adam and eve were all scripted by God yes even child sexual assault rape abortion murder lgbt sin they are all scripted by God for a purpose to think the thoughts and do the sin with no way not to.
      I reject that
We must be careful not to force God in a corner with ideas doctrine or even worse to judge those that fall away from the faith as never saved to begin with as that is us taking Jesus job as the judge of salvation away and giving it to sinful man, sure we can speculate and say if they did not repent before death and believe they are going to hell, , only jesus knows the heart and their last moment of life, even Judas, who ironically we may see in heaven, when we judge people to absolute hell, that just shows arrogance like the scribes and Pharisees looking down on the tax collector and sinners.
If we were not told of the thief on the cross story, many would say certainly he's in hell, but at the last moment unknown to many who knew him he repented confess and believed and was saved imho
Instead we should use scripture to teach rebuke reprove encourage the fallen away from the faith brother to be restored to the faith with prayer and truth.
Not say you must not have been saved because my doctrine says you will not fall away from the faith until apostasy.
They may have simply backslidden or lost a love one and temporarily in doubt so let's not damn them to hell or say they were never saved we don't know the heart or last moments of life .
And if they truly walked away from belief to apostasy, let's still not give up on them give prayers for them as we were once fallen as well and someone did not give up on us.

What is the root of conditional security doctrine? First encountered it as a young adult and it was quite disconcerting.

    • @TheBibleSays
      @TheBibleSays 2 года назад

What' s the root of the conditional security doctrine? Is in all the wanrings and the "if's" that have been provided in scripture.
If "eternal security" (OSAS) were true, then there would have been no point in warnings like these:
      ■ "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:" (2 Timothy 2:12)
      ■ "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6)
You must first *_be_* a branch before you can be "cast forth as a branch." And obviously we *can* be "cast forth" after becoming a branch. Jesus did not say "once a branch, always a branch."
Jesus clearly warned what would happen to servants who returned to sin:
      ■ "But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
There's a message there for all who have been misled to believe that *having* the holy spirit is a guarantee of your salvation. We must remain in repentance, being *led* by the holy spirit (read Romans 8:13,14) and "walking after the spirit" (Romans 8:1) . . . not just _having_ it and ignoring it.
The apostle Paul warned that Gentile believers - even after being "graffed" into the "vine," - could be "cut off" the vine, just as the "natural branches" (the Israelites) had been broken off:
      ■ "For if God spared not the natural branches, *take heed lest he also spare not thee.*
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, *if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off."* (Romans 11:19-22)
If, after overcoming sinfull living through knowing Jesus, a person then returns to a life of sin, "the latter end is worse with them than the beginning":
      ■ "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." (2 Peter 2:20-22)
Here is another warning "if" about returning to a life of sin:
      ■ "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." (Hebrews 10:26,27)
*_Can you lose your salvation?_* Trick question, because it incorrectly presumes you *_have_* salvation. Jesus said we must endure to the end to be saved (Matthew 10:22) . . . and we have not endured to the end.
The church is *in judgment* right now . . . NOT "saved":
      ■ "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" (1 Peter 4:17)
      ■ "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it." (Hebrews 4:1)
Christians need to understand justification (now) vs salvation (later). Paul wrote that justification and salvation are different things, at different times (Romans 5:9). While we abide in Jesus and "walk after the spirit" (Romans 8:1) we remain in justification and are "in His goodness" or grace (Romans 11:22) -not under condemnation. While in justification we have "the hope of salvation" and are "appointed . . . to obtain salvation." Here's Paul:
      ■ "But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 5:8,9; also read Peter in Acts 15:11).
We have many warnings not to fall away from justification because if we do, we'll forfeit that "hope of salvation." We'll miss our appointment to receive the promised gift of eternal life (1 John 2:25), at Jesus' "revelation," His return (1 Peter 1:13; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17). Upon receiving eternal life at Jesus' return, then you will have eternal security. Short of receiving eternal life you will perish, very much unsaved.
Here's more of the many warnings not to fall away from justification.
      Another "if":
we must choose to be led by the holy spirit:
      ■ "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (Romans 8:13,14)
"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." (Revelation 3:5 and 22:19)
The wolf says "you're safe . . . no danger here . . . no harm can come to you." The "instantly saved, eternally secure" message DEFIES AND CONTRADICTS ALL THE WARNINGS provided in scripture. People need to WAKE UP because there is massive deception going on. Spiritual warfare is raging and most don't realize it.

Brother I don’t know if you will ever see this comment and I believe you are spot on. I would like your take on 1 Cor 3:12-15. The foundation is Christ. If all the works built upon that foundation is burned up, meaning they didn’t have a single work they did that endures, the passage seems to indicate that person shall be saved. I take this as assurance that not everyone who is a believer produces works that benefit them or anyone else. 1 John 3:9 says Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin (New Man) for His seed remainders in him; and he cannot sin because he is born of God. Now we know we sin until we die but God sees his son in us and does not see the sin of our flesh.
1 John 5:18 We know that whosever is born of God sinneth not; but He (Christ) that is begotten of God keepeth him and that wicked one toucheth him not.
This is reinforced by Paul in Romans 7:18-20 when he says he sins in the flesh even doing what he doesn’t want to do but Christ sees his spirit not his flesh.
This to me shows that not every believer produces good works and may not produce any but they are still saved because God sees his Son and not their flesh.

@Kush Castro Psalm 51, is David's prayer of repentance after he sinned with Bathsheba. He was crying out to God not to leave him. Verse 52 says, "Restore to me the joy of YOUR salvation, and uphold me by Your generous spirit." Salvation is the Lord's. Philippians 1:6, "being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." This verse is speaking of sanctification, which occurs after someone is truly saved. God can't save someone and not continue to do a good work in them.

@Kush Castro if someone claims Christ, and then later denies Him, they were a false convert, and never saved to begin with. Christ isn't going to deny someone salvation, after they are already saved. I would urge you to study the attributes of God, His righteousness, His sovereignty etc. God is not going to extend mercy and grace upon someone and then yank it away one day. If someone prays the sinners prayer, but their life never really changes and they live in unrepentant sin for years, they were never really saved to begin with.

    • @solideogloria6569
      @solideogloria6569 2 года назад

@Kush Castro this is why it's so important to read scripture in context. 2 Peter 2:18-22, is speaking about the deceptions of false teachers. Verse 20 says, "For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning." So again, it said they had the initial knowledge, it does not say they are saved yet. It also says they "are again entangled in them and OVERCOME. Someone who has a saving knowledge of the truth may be decieved for a moment, but will not be overcome completely by deception that they turn away from God.

All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. 25Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? 26When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. 27Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. 28Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 29Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. The problem with OSAS is not all the verses that talk about how we are secure in Christ (and there are MANY), the problem is that if there is ONE SINGLE WAY, regardless of how remote or difficult then OSAS as you present it is not accurate.
For me the problem comes from the sin of apostacy. Is this a real sin as described by 1Tim 4:1, 1Tim 5:8, 11-12, 2 Pet 2:20-21 then there seems to be a way that someone can deny the faith that they HAD. Let us not forget that salvation comes by grace through faith.
Now, we like to deal with this by quoting 1 John 2:19 "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.". But is this a universal reason, to say they were just not saved the solution to everything?.
Is this the impression we get from verses like 1Tim 4:1, 1Tim 5:8, 11-12, 2 Pet 2:20-21, that these people were just not saved? The only way to deal with these verses on apostasy is to say a) They were not saved (the text does not seem to support this) b) Do Bible acrobatics so the text means something different than what it plainly says. Like saying that this faith is of different kind than what we read in the rest of the New Testament.
Now, let it be known, I'm a strong believer in eternal security. I don't trust my own strength to stay faithful till the end and fully rely on God's everlasting faithfulness. Yet, I clearly see something here that does not fit your understanding of eternal security.
From these scriptures about apostacy I can only conclude that there is some kind of seduction that can happen in the heart. That there is a path to damnation even if you posses the truth. This is consistent with the warnings about persevering to the end. I will also admit that in light of God's everlasting faithfulness this seems impossible at first glance but I must accept what these verses clearly state, that people can apostate from the faith and after doing so to not be counted as the redeemed.
On the other hand I will be the first one to admit this interpretation is not bullet proof too. Questions like a) How can a man undo the work of salvation when he had nothing to do with it {faith is not a work} b) In verses like John 17:3 where it defines eternal life as knowing God, how can you stop knowing God once you know him? c) If God does erase people from the Book of life as Revelation 3:5 says, then how do we account for the sin of apostacy?
This subject is part of the great debate about God's sovereignty and man's free will. I for my part accept that there is a mystery here. The Bible states both truths and I believe them both. How do they interact is a mystery (in spite of what many theologians would like to say otherwise). You can argue that I strongly lean on God's sovereignty on this subject, and I admit that I do, but I can't use it to totally erase man's free will from the equation. I believe your interpretation of OSAS goes on that direction.
I may have written more than I intended. Keep up the good work. May the Lord bless your faithfulness.
Note: Christians have had debates on this subject for centuries {good sign this probably falls under the mystery category}. May your disagreements on this subject be as civil and as full of the spirit as the disagreements of two of my favorite Church heroes, John Wesley and George Whitfield.
    God Bless!

Your good and bad DEEDS will def be judged and it will testify against you. However you lived on this earth was in your heart.
Make sure you are doing everything from your heart. That is the heart that Christ gives us, and not the heart of stone.
Yes u can loose your salvation no one is good except for Christ all our works is filthy rags. But if we love Christ and obey his commandments and repent we will be children of God. Those who endure till he end will be saved. It's really not hard to understand. People make it hard and start adding things and constantly explaining. Just obey Jesus, keep walking with him!.

I couldn't have said it better myself, it's time to take the gloves off and let people know the real actual truths instead of the lazy lukewarm concepts that seducing spirits and false teachers like to push.

Thank you for methodically hashing out these issues because it’s easy to read passages of scripture and make a case that we can lose our salvation. But when the Bible has passages that seem to contradict each other we must look deeper. The Bible is harmonious. OSAS and s the only way to harmonize scripture. The doctrine of losing one’s salvation has to deal with contradicting passages. OSAS does not.

Many years ago the Lord put this question in my spirit....
    If you teach people to abide in Christ and walk in the Spirit, but you are wrong about once saved always saved, then the worst that can happen is;
    ☁️☁️"GREAT IS THEIR A
    REWARD IN HEAVEN"!☁️☁️
    However if you teach people that they can never walk away from the Lord, and you are wrong about once saved always saved, then the worst that can happen is;
    🔥🔥"GREAT IS THEIR
    TORMENT IN HELL"!🔥🔥

In one of my visitations to hell, Jesus showed me a person who was a Christian (Jesus said “he was a Christian like you”). But the guy unfortunately started sleeping around (he was planning on repenting later). He died middle aged and went to hell forever it was dark but Jesus lit up the area, he asked Jesus for another chance but unfortunately it was too late for him, Pretty said, Repent and ask Jesus to help you with your struggles (James 4:7)
