Hey guys, great vid. So we picked up our Larmarie on Monday just gone and we get our offroad van next April. Curious to see what your fuel figures are towing, we will be towing up to 3500kg.
LOVED THIS REVIEW. We just got a new 2.8T boat and we have a fully kitted ranger (check out our YT) but 35's big lift, heaps of stuff and it just struggles, went and looked at a 2021 RAM Express today, pretty confident we love it and I think its time to swap the ranger out! loved the viddeo guys:)
Hi we did the Gibb from Perth in July and are just back from Perth to Canberra and return towing our 3.1t van. We only run 91 fuel as Ram say 91 or for top performance run 95.
hi its a big vehicle, personally i love them but wife hates all the USA pickups.. weird but she's the Boss.. but still you needed airbags and a Load Dist hitch - so that brings me to the point vehicle manufactures need to have a good look at themselves and fix the problem, 80-90% vans a re over wight, that's a industry problem i feel.. Anyway i have the 22 XLT and i just brought a 2019 Desert Storm from Beerawa area.. so cant wait to hit the road.. im thinking about putting in 300-500 constant springs in the rear as i dont want to spend money on the XLT as i have a 23 Wildtrak PP on order for Aug-sept 23. - i feel there is not a lot to gain in a F truck or RAM for us as the 20'6 Tare is 2800 plus water and gear etc so im thinking it will be about 3.2T the veh full of fuel and driver only is 2340 when i weighed it at the truck pads.. ill keep an eye out for you guys, great content and well spoken with good info well done. peter.. Thanks for your comment. It’s a great truck. We really love it. Evem though its set up for towing, it still needs a bit of support in the rear end. It’s a strange one that’s for sure. the springs in the end make for the ride to be really comfortable but, the downside is when you are towing it’s soft. Sounds like a good rig you have there, Enjoy. Hi guys, my belief is that your journey getting to the RAM is meant to be. I believe that if you had have gone straight to the RAM, you wouldn't have appreciated the RAM as much and you wouldn't have noticed the difference between the Ranger and the RAM. You are where you are meant to be in your life. I could go more into this, I'm not going to. I'm not sure what your belief is on this sort of thing. I hope that I am making sense. I'm going to manifest a RAM Laramie and a 5th wheeler, I just need to get myself started on manifesting my dreams.

Any chance you can look in the door jamb and see what the rear axle rating is? Just want to know if the Warlock is higher than the standard. Also did you happen to weigh your empty van to see it the tare on the plate is correct?
Hey Mick. Yes, The rear axle weight loading is 1770kg which is the same as the classic, so we have to be careful we do not overload it. When we got the car weighed with the van and wdh, our rear axle was 1580 so we seem to be OK. Without the way is was another 90kg on the rear axle, hence why we are using it. Hi we had same question. Really weird as we use outback travel australia calculator and we can t get away without gvm upgrade 😮. Unless we carry nothing in ram.its really strange. We ve tried putting in different weights but always comes back to just 2passengersat 150 kgs andnothing else for the weights to stay legal.stumped ! Our lovells s gvmis on order and we have to replace rims and tyres for the upgrade but ournew rea axle rating will be 2180 kgs . Our new van will have ATM of 3.2 T . Tried all sorts of scenario s in calculator so im hoping we got it right .
Air bags to my knowledge air bags dont transfer weight back to the front axle. Thats what ive been told so ive stuck with using a H/R WDH Any " paid content " in your videos??
Problem with WDH is that if an accident happens and the van rolls, the car rolls with it. Takes all the advantage away from the DO45 hitch and its articulating properties.

On board system I believe will detect when trailer connected and tow assist not activated ,could affect any warranty claim. Bit of nuisance having to remember to turn on t/a when ram knows trailer brake activated
Hey Kathleen. A GVM upgrade wont really affect how much you can tow. The RAM can tow 4500kg, bit in all reality, if your van weighs 4500Kg, the GCM (Gross combined mass which is the combined mass of the car and caravan) will be real close to the limit, which from factory is 7237 Kg. To my knowledge you can not upgrade the GCM on a RAM. Getting a GVM upgrade will essentially increase the total mass in the towing vehicle. From factory the GVM is 3450Kg. Once the kerb weight is taken into account, this will give you 880kg in payload in the car. This sounds like a lot, but once you take into account the weight of the tow ball, the weight of your passengers, it starts to get to a point where for some an upgrade may be necessary. For us, our tow ball is around 350Kg. There is the three of us and our dog. We have no accessories on the car. When we got weighed, our GVM came in at 3275Kg which gave us another 175Kg in payload. So. For us a GVM upgrade really isn't worth it at this stage. Hope all this makes sense. Check out our vid from about a month ago where we broke down all of the terminology on weights etc.

what about your rear axle weight when the van is hooked up , hitches off and everybody in the car.
