Stoked for you guys to see Larry the ram 🐏 on board for the travels now... can't help but think it should have been a chev, but hey. We all love a bit of banter lol 😁..
Hey Kyle. Yeh. Who knows. We are happy and just wanted a car that could tow the van without any worry. The chev was a bit more expensive as well, so we just decided to go this way. Hope we made the right decision.
@@ThumbsUpAustralia I'm sure the hemi will do you well. And those ram boxes are to good. Multiple uses. For our family we need a diesel for the remote areas we want to go to in the Kimberley and NT. So unfortunately we have to spend that extra for the 2500. Plus, driving from tassie to get up to those areas are going to require alot of fuel to 🤦. So it's diesel for us
There is a lot of storage space behind the rear seat. There are different ways to make the space accessible (search youtube), but it is worth the mod. I used to keep my emergency parka and sleeping bag (gets cold in Northern US and Canada), and my SA58 behind the rear seat. It doesn't look like a lot of room from the top, but it opens out a lot when you get closer to the floor.
yay happy dance am so so happy the Ram Finley arrived can't wait to see the next video when the Van is hooked up and you 4 ( got to include the pup) are ready to hit the road
@@ThumbsUpAustralia I reckon you will be hearing me more like it ;) LOL I am looking forward to the caravan show in January here in WA have already told hubby he's comn as when we went to the one at the Gold Coast only looked at 1 caravan this time I am looking at everything that's on offer as I know what I want in a Caravan might even bring some goodies home anyway always awesome to here from you lot O and before I forget with the red paint just keep up the polish and use a really good wash and wax I love my turtle personal preference See you next year in WA fingers crossed I might have the pool in so all the kids including the big ones and our fur babies can jump in and have a paddle
Really funny watching this. We brought a red warlock as well. Traded our Ranger in as well. Currently towing a 3.4t caravan and wouldn’t use anything else. We are so happy with it. Look forward to following you guys. Regards Rob.
Once you go RAM….you’ll never drive anything else. The comfort level of RAM trucks is amazing. They can be thirsty….but they are so versatile. There should be a 4WD Auto button as well… but 2WD on road really helps gas mileage. So?…how do you like it now?
@@ThumbsUpAustralia I had red with paint protection and the only thing that protected my wallet was the paint protection warranty, it didn’t stop it from fading though but you gotta risk it for the biscuit right? 🙌🏽 still looks sh!t hot though!! Unfortunately fading is unavoidable with red due to the red colour components reacting with the blue Rays and something to do with wave lengths…blah blah blah but having the lifetime warranty is awesome! 🤙🏽
Mate. You will LOVE it. We really love our car. Thought we would miss the ranger., but no. It's been one of the greatest decisions we have made. This is good as we have made a couple of really bad ones recently, well at least one. Ha Ha
Ironically I was looking at a Black RAM Express yesterday at my local dealer. Just in thought process at the moment ?? Right next to the Black Express was a Black RAM Warlock I started noticing All the things I don't get ??? Which really got me thinking when I am looking at a $100k vehicle. Plastic steering wheel ???. ( and that very average antenna you also noticed ??? ) For an extra $10k for the Warlock I started thinking the Express was enough to pay. But, I did like a fair few of the options that are standard on the Warlock some I could do without ?? I have no real need for the RAM Boxes especially for an extra $4,500 ??? I would prefer more tray space. I didn't really like the RED colour at first ?? After looking at your RED Warlock with the blacked out bonnet, I sort started changing my mind about the RED ( But, I wouldn't buy a RED car myself ) Thanks for taking us for look around your latest purchase. It's a shame the Ford Ranger wasn't more suited to what you need. I'm guess you must have taken a pretty big hit on the change over ??
Ram box delete is something like a $450 credit here in the US. Some people like them, but $4500 seems like extortion. I like red vehicles. Ordered a Rapid Red F450 King Ranch to replace my Deep Cherry Red Ram 2500. The Ram 2500 depreciated $12,000 (including taxes and fees) in 12 years of heavy use. Unfortunately rust started to take a toll and it wasn't big enough to tow anything larger than my smallest trailer.
Heh. Sorry we haven’t gotten back to you. We have been real busy with family. We love our RAM. DEFINITELY understand about the colour. We have gotten very used to it. What did you end up doing??
@ThumbsUpAustralia Unfortunately. I'm still on the fence about buying a RAM ??? Ironically, on my way home from a family day out yesterday. I drove past our local RAM dealership. Plenty of models available. I definitely like the RAM Limited. But, at almost 160k. There are a fair few other vehicles that could be purchased for less money. Absolutely 💙 the interior space. Something you would know well. Especially after the Ford Ranger. But, interior space definitely adds to the exterior of the vehicle ??? Trying to park a RAM might be something worth thinking about before I buy one. I keep this in mind every time I find myself in any sort of area where I need to park. I could only imagine how difficult it would be. I'm still to get past the whole package 🤔 Big interior 👌. Big exterior 😬
Just a heads up that the MDS equipped Rams have similar issues to the AFL equipped GMs. A $350 dongle that plugs into the OBD port disables the MDS and makes the long term reliability much better.
Congratulations on the RAM. I do love the red colour , but nearly every red car that I have own and friends of mine have owned have found that the red colour fades really quickly. Hopefully you don't have that problem.
Hey Gary. Thanks so much. We love the red as well. Yeh, we had that same concern, but we added the paint protection that comes with a lifetime warranty against fading, so guess we will see. Fingers crossed. 🤞
Hey guys love the walk thou on big red , I actually like the colour anyway I’m thinking about a Ram I want to use it to pull my van it’s only 15 foot but looking to upgrade it in years to come any last thoughts or suggestions
Hey Perry. The RAM is a great vehicle. You’ll love it. You won’t have any issues on towing a van under 3.8 tonne I reckon. Once the tow ball weight gets over 350 Kg I reckon your rear axle could go over. So. If you upgrade to a heavier van and it’s around that weight, you may want to consider a GVM upgrade. Check out our most recent vid from last week on you tube. We talk all about weights on it. Enjoy the car. You’ll love it.
Thank you for you video, it made us choose the same as you, was looking at the new Ranges, glad we didn't, we love our Ram, we got the Patriot blue, anymore updates on what upgrades you did for towing or what would you recommend. The only issue I have with the Ram warlock, is it's not made for short people, the driver's seat doesn't go up, I'm only 5"2.
Hey Corinna. Great choice. Check out this vid that we did after this one. We have kept the RAM pretty much stock standard but we installed airbags in the rear suspension. We are also using a weight distribution hitch. Glad you’re enjoying the content. ruclips.net/video/a2qa3jQ8shc/видео.html

@@ThumbsUpAustralia you cannot put a price on family safety. Petrol way cheaper than diesel, servicing costs way cheaper than diesel. Towing kg for kg at the same speeds we'd run around the same cost as a Mux. Much more too it than a simple how much fuel you use.
Nice car indeed but a couple of minor points. The vents on the bonnet are fake so no air actually goes through to the motor. Have a look at them closely and you'll see. Secondly, you don't need to use 95 or above. I have a DT 1500 Laramie and had a DS 1500 Crew cab before that and I use 91 without a problem on both. I also tow a 3.5t van and the engine is designed to run on 91. If you want to throw away your money, keep using 95 but there will be no benefit at all. Happy Ramming!!!
