Hey there, thanks for checking out the channel. There have been years I haven’t had a boat and I would hit spots along Black Dog Road in Bloomington. Just off of 35W is a little dam/inflow kind of thing where the channel from Black Dog Lake spills in. It’s no secret spot by any means, but its popular for a reason. That or down off Pike Island at the confluence. That’s a long hike but puts you near the wintering areas. Good luck!
Hey there, I have a bunch of cat rods, but they’re almost all the ugly stick cat rods or the Berkley Big Game rods. Most of them have abu Garcia reels but the one most seen in this video has an old Quantum Iron reel with Berkley 35 pound Big Game Line. Good Luck out there!
Man, I’d love more than to be able to use a cast net, but it was my understanding that they were only legal on the St Croix and you had to apply for some permit. As far as where I was, just some little creekmouth upstream of the Lyndale launch within a couple of miles. There’s a good number of little creeks and I just picked one that had a nice sandbar. Can’t wait to get back out there :)
@@northstarangling2953 I found out that you can use a 4ft net on the Minnesota river without a permit. you can use one in the river because its a boundary water connected to another state
@@shattyfishingcontent6561 you cannot use a net in Minnesota without a permit. 5’ is maximum size and you can only use it to harvest gizzard shad on the Minnesota, Mississippi pools 2-8 and the Saint croix below the dam in Taylor’s falls.
Hi there - na, I’ve had this boat about seven years. We even had it with on the day of the isles video. We had put in at Calhoun but my trolling motor wasn’t working so we went to isles and shore fished. Thanks for checking ‘em out - have a great day :)
Hi there. I'm putting together a video on the Minnesota River and I was wondering if I could use a few seconds from your video in mine. I'm looking for some great shots of cat fishing on the river and you've got some beauties. Let me know. I'd be glad to give you a credit on the video. Thanks! Gary in SLP

quasiguy - This is awesome! I love local documentaries and PBS type of programming. I even learned a couple of things while watching for myself to pop up. I had no idea there were trout streams :) Wonderful production - it's cool to be on something so professional. Have a great day!

Love your videos
Thanks bud - I appreciate that. Good luck out there :)
you should a cast net so you can get bait for free. I would use Mr. Betts or Tyzac.
And also where were you at 9:14 in the video?
