Why Ubisoft didn't move forward, continuing the journey of Bayek, Aya and the Assassins I'll never know. How cool would it have been to play another game as them and other assassins in the formative era of the order? But after finishing Kassandra's family's quest, and after killing all the Cult members, and finishing the Isu Atlantis quest line, there was nothing else to do. I spent 20 more hours completing side quests and maxing the ship, but there was nothing interesting to do anywhere, so I assumed I'd completed the game and I finally uninstalled it.
But now I see this Hidden blade plot line where you kill Xerxes? What? When was that supposed to happen? How did I miss that? Did I have to spend dozens of more hours just side questing after finishing the game to unlock that quest? Or was that DLC? I'm kinda bummed I missed out on a major quest line, but I guess I now get the jist of it, though. Not re-installing, just a little confused.
I thought the game ended kind of anti-climactically and abruptly.

As you may know there's no real present day character between Black Flag and Origins which introduces Layla Hassan who pops up again in Odyssey and presumably in Valhalla.
In Origins, she set up her Animus in Bayek's cave/Tomb while doing research for Abstergo. Abstergo kills her partner and tries to kill her, but she uses her bleeding effect skills to kill them, then gets recruited into the Assassins toward the end of the game by Desmond's dad.
She's in Odyssey, but I don't know what happens there I never finished that piece of crap.

@@hilosky Then let me explain it to you. Layla opens Atlantis and learns to wield the staff via Kassandra going into the simulations of Atlantis created by Alethia. Layla ends up seemingly corrupted by the staff and kills Victoria and seriously injures Otso Burg. In my opinion, Odyssey has fixed the modern day, which has been subpar since 4.
