Hi Hazel, The Sears cataloge and the 1947 magazines were a wonderful find. The only problem is if I had found them, I wouldn't be able to cut them up!! 😂
Hi Ruth, well someone beat us to it with the JR. magazines didn't they? lol The Wish Book is going to a good California home & so far, I haven't listed my other one so I hear you. H
Poofy sleeves and big bows! Yep that was my dress in 1991! I even had a huge bow on my head! 😂 The picture reading is called “Rebus” (random educational facts). Those magazines are so fun. The wish book is the best!!! Every year a new pair of Winnie the Pooh snap together top and bottom footie pajamas. 😊
Oh, you poor kid....but I suppose if you hadn't worn that poofy, bow strewn dress you'd have been an outcast, so I'm glad you fit in to the 90s. Thanks for the name for picture reading...I'd add that to my vocabulary. A first cousin to handmade ransom letters I guess....
Great bunch of goodies going into your shop. Oh how I remember the sears catalog. The 5 of us would all lay on the floor and all try to look at it together. My sister said she just recently found all the old sears wish books she had saved, some going back into 70's I think, but she said I can't have them for my journals yet HAHA
Why, because hanging onto them for 50+ years isn't long enough? lol I doubt there are many people who don't have fond memories of the Sears Wish Book showing up in late September.
Good morning Hazel. Wow those Jr magazines are awesome. We could not wait for the catalogs to come in when we were kids. So much so that now when Target sends their wish book out we give it to the grandkids and tell them circle what you want so we can send it to Santa. Problem us, my mini me Ryan tends to circle 500 different things 😅!!!!
Hi Teresa, I agree about the JR magazines. Sculptures for the covers---mind blowing. I always encouraged my kids to make Xmas lists from the Wish Book. "And be sure to include pg numbers, item letters, sizes & colours" were my orders. Naturally it was waaaay more than they ever got but what they did get they really wanted. H
It's hard to believe they're still making them. I wish they'd date the packages so we know if we have something 50 years or 50 minutes old...lol. Thanks, Celeste.
Hey Hazel. I’ve been finding more of those aunt Martha transfers and they have the cutest graphics on them. Look at those magazines. They almost remind me of a young ideals! Haha and the sears book is super cute. The target and Amazon ones always entice my kids!!
Hi Sierra, the Aunt Martha's have a charm of their own for sure. It's too bad they don't put a year on them because it's hard to tell how new or not they are. This Cdn kid didn't know Target & Amazon did Xmas catalogues. Learn something new everyday! Hugs, H
Hi Carol, everyone seems to have fond memories of the Wish Book because that's exactly what it was....wishing for all those items! No Wards or Penneys in Canada unfortunately.....H

Really interesting! Thank you for showing us, Hazel. Would love to find “Jr.” published February 1947.
Sears Wish Book - OMG Hazel what a score!!!
It's going to a good home in California.....lol. For now, I'm hanging onto my other 1976 one...... can we all say hoarding?

Hi Hazel💕
The transfer patterns are my all time favorite, love finding them. Thank you for sharing, hope you had a awesome day. 🤗Big hugs

Very fun items. I LOVE catalogs! I also remember the wish book and pouring over it; the Penneys and Montgomery Ward ones too.
