I have run mine under hot water just from my tap and have had success with it straightening out some. I also like to take a brush from time to time and remove all the bits of stuff that has gotten wedged into the cracks. Right now my one cutting plate almost looks like a bowl HAHA and still works fine, I always keep a new set handy just in case one breaks etc.

Hello Hazel, interesting experiment, I was hoping it was going to work! I’m not sure I’ll try it, I’d end up over heating my heat gun again if I do! My plates are badly warped too, I think I’ll have to bite the bullet and buy some new ones! xx

the covers are wonderful Hazel, this video is great message for a beginner, or us old craft collectors in the fact when we ask ourselves what type of tools we need, what kind of stuff we collect etc, when people think I am just collecting stuff and have not started a journal yet cause I don't have enough etc... to me it means we do not need all the bells and whistles, we don't need the fancy tools, and the perfect room. It means just get started, have fun, enjoy the process, enjoy the space you have and the stuff you have already.

Good morning Hazel. Believe it or not I actually have that great big huge Professional Cookbook although I think perhaps a bit newer version. But that one is a go to cookbook for me whenever I need to learn a term or technique. It is huge tho! Lots of paisley in this book haul!

Hi Hazel, I agree, when you purchase an "old" book(s) and they have an air of.....I don't know......musty/mildewy smell!?! It really turns me off! 😝. I hope your experiments work. 🤗. Those 100 yr old books were a great find!

This is a great topic as I am sure most of us have gone through this very thing and have tried lots of things. I have thrown out many books because of the smell, now I am careful to just not bring any home with out smelling them. And yes some things seem to work on some occasions but not others.

Hi Hazel💕 Thank you for the video, I'm finding myself more and more sensitive to old book smells. I used to sell candles back in the day and it changed my sense of smell. My noise burns now with candles, perfume, etc. When we go to the store or out to eat I can't sit near anyone that had bathed in the stuff. I immediately get a migraine and they are not fun. Cigarette is the worst for me, my dad had to quit about 7 years ago because his lung collapsed and he started smoke at age 15. I wish there was an easy quick solution because there are so many amazing books out there to save. Hope you are having a good week, take good care. 🥰Big hugs🐦🦋🥀

Hi Hazel! I’ve successfully used apples to deodorize smoky paper. :) Slice the apple in half, place next to the paper in a sealed container. I check every few days until I’m happy w/the new (lack of) scent. Happy deodorizing!

I’m always fascinated by these collage challenges but the list of things I want to do is ever growing and these just haven’t made the cut. Hidden paper clip: take a folded piece of sturdy paper and slide a paperclip over the fold. Cut a rectangle around the paperclip leaving the fold in tact. Apply glue all around the paper clip and put your decorated folded piece over the top with inside of the decorated fold over the sturdy paper fold with the paperclip on it. ❤😊

Good morning #LifeCoachHazel. These are slowly taking shape! I especially love the blue with the drops!!! Crazy how doodling can take your project in a fifferent direction. I used to have a client who loved to talk on the phone for sometimes 2 hrs so can you imagine ( 2 yrs and 200 houses later...yes she finally bought one)...what any piece of paper around me looked like! Should have just vollected them for my future self 😅😅😅😅
