I did one of these tests in the UK and... yeah... not wildly impressed. I got a set of results that included a bunch of US-centric dogs I'd never heard of, then about six months later they sent me revised results with a lot more Euro-centric results, but still some wildcards that are unlikely to be in the ancestry of a farm-bred "Jack Russell" from the Northern Irish countryside. Ironically the first results seem more accurate, putting him at 7/8 Terrier, (including bull terriers) and 1/8 Border Collie. The revised results threw in some Danish Farm Dog, Egyptian Street Dog and 8% Chihuahua. Threatening to reveal his Chihuahua past is the only thing that gives me any control over him.
Great job with the video!! Degenerative myelopathy is a condition of the spine that occurs in dogs over the age of 8. It has nothing to do with a dogs hips. It’s the dog version of ALS in humans. Carriers (1 copy) rarely develop the disease. Dogs with 2 copies are at risk. However the disease is incomplete penetrance so not all dogs with 2 copies get the disease.
Now you can find the dogs’ parents that gave them up for adoption.
LOL. YOU are the father... you are NOT the father!
If they cannot get the breed right (which is obviously off) why would you believe anything from this company?
Great info! I just ordered mine and am excited to see the results! Did you teach your dog how to open the door or did she learn that on her own?
Completely on her own! And she's a rescued street dog, so I imagine she learned to be a problem solver. ;)
you ordered a dog to use a dna test?
Does it confirm purebreds?
I thought my dog was a dog, but it was a sheep...
😂
I just tried to register my kit and could not find where to put the sample ID#, their website is awful.
😒
Thanks for sharing. We just got a rescue puppy and are thinking about getting this kit.

Hahahahaha
Super cool! Next time, I have a dog. I would do the same. Thanks for sharing buddy!!
Glad you like it!
Do you know if it will contaminate the kit if I got one of my dogs hair in the sample?
It should be fine.
Wisdom Panel has come so far in their research for both the detection of dog breeds and diseases for our furry friends
Glad you're enjoying them!
Will it detect, if the dog will have diseases later on in life like cancers ?
If i would have known the swab was actually a brush, I would have ordered Embark! Not happy
Thank you for such a thorough review of the Wisdom Panel; it was just what I was looking for.
You're very welcome!

Thank you very much for the compliment, and the additional info!
