I like how instead of 'alright' it's 'just fine', it gives a sense of calmness in knowing that not everything is gonna be the same ever again but you'll learn to live with it and you'll be fine, not worse or better but fine.

I just found out that my nana has a maximum of six months left to live - the day before we celebrate Christmas. My grandpa still refuses to get help from Hospice, even after we met with a representative. After crying for a few minutes away from my family (I don't need to bother them when they have so much on their plates already), I listened to this song. While listening, it took on a different meaning for me because on the one hand, it feels as though the song is comforting me, but on the other, it's almost as if my family is comforting my nana, who believes in an afterlife. Perhaps no one will read this, and I'll effectively vent into the bottomless void known as the internet. However, I hope Digital Daggers knows how much their music impacts their fans, and I hope others can find comfort from this song as well

discovered Digital Daggers through Spotify. I fell asleep listening to a band that I liked and when I woke up either "Still Here" or "Surrender". I was twelve and going through a rough patch in my life. I was instantly hooked and here I am listening five years later, still absolutely in love.
My anxiety's awful, but this song helps me sleep at night. Sometimes, it moves me to tears. Well.. that's all I have to say. Everyone else seems to think it's really beautiful, too. ^^

Beautiful and calm: two things that set this band apart.
After rough or scary days at work i lay in my bed or whever hotel we are put up in and listen to this to relax. It reminds me of back when things where different and i had someone beside me in bed. Little sorrowful but a a memory of being at peace.

Brings a tear to my eyes.
I've made many stories around this song, but right now it's two boys. One's young, responsibilities pushed onto him and who feels like he needs to be a certain way for people to care. The other, an adult, who promised long ago to protect the boy until the boy died, but who has come to realize that he would do anything to make sure the younger lives at least as long as him, perhaps longer.

Since the first time of hearing this song, it always reminds me of being a parent; I want to do everything I can to always comfort and be there for my children, and with any struggles remind them that everything will be just fine and we'll make it through. My soulmate is going to be such an amazing person I mean is like another me or a twin flame 🔥 this will be interesting. I imagine my soulmate like another me probably even a tougher warrior than me. I imagine the harmony of this song and the vibe it makes me feel and think of a romantic novel about a hero battling monsters and dark forces and in this episode he finds his other half and it rescues him. When I closed my eyes I imagined pink roses and the wind blowing them. I can’t explain this feeling is like if I envisioned myself with my other female half the other part of me my soulmate or twin flame.
Edit: I don’t know if is bad to think this way. But this is the reason why I don’t want a girlfriend until I find the person destined for me spiritually.

I assume it has to do with dreaming or the afterlife. For me, the song is about what a fictional character might tell a real human who is in love with them, or what the human would like to hear. Other side thus refers to the world the character is from--or, a fantasy world where the person is happy.
