Great talk 👍
“Always carry a camera” is definitely the best way for me to be able to do photography within the life puzzle.
Also allow yourself to not shoot when not feeling it. If you don’t enjoy it or get paid, just enjoy the moment instead. But have a camera with you in case you change your mind.
10000% Sometimes the best possible thing to do is carry a camera and not use it :)
You make more sense than any of the photo "heavy weights" I follow in RUclips. Practical musing from real life. An exercise in "looking" is so important. You go girl.
Gosh appreciate you!!
This video was honestly so inspiring. I’m in college currently and have been in a major rut with photography feeling I have no time to do it as I’m studying to be a pharmacist. But your simple recommendation of bringing the camera everywhere took me back to 13 year old me that just got into photography and had that camera attached at her hip… truly thank you🥰 I’m going to work on bringing it more places again
Yay Sophia! It's funny how just the act of carrying the camera can help you notice and capture things that might have blended into the scenery of the day to day otherwise.
@@OneMonthTwoCameras so so true!🙌🏻😊
I love when you leave in vignettes of your daughters interrupting you. It’s a beautiful reminder of the importance and priority of close relationships over work or stuff. It reminds me a lot of gentle parenting techniques which I’m sure you’re not a stranger to. It begs the question, what sources of wisdom on parenting do you recommend? My wife and I have a 13 month old daughter whom we adore and watching your daughters in your videos has me excited for when she’s the same age.
A wonderful, inspiring release! There are many deep, but such simple truths. In the modern world, we complicate too much and attach importance to what is really not important, we all need to learn how to live again.
So glad you enjoyed it 🥰
I love the way you talk to your kids. By learning to deal with my own trauma I realise how important that kind of communication is. You're one of the most inspiring creators I am watching right now. Keep it up, Ali!
My goodness my heart. Thank you so much. Grateful to have you here.
I've been hoping for more of this kind of content from you. Your knowledge and experience add to its weight. I think it will resonate with a wide audience of photographers and other creators. More please!
I am beyond happy to hear that. Thank you so much!
Oh my god Ali. I watched this in the bath 🛀 and absolutely loved every point and every second of this! Thank you 🙏🏻
Love you so much! If anyone can relate, I know it's you :) x
just bought a Canon 1Ds MrkIII for nothing - and inspiration is back - and back problems :-) - a big fun (like my M8) - after 50 cameras for pro use...your channel is a big fun too!
So good. The minimalism part really hits home for me, especially as a busy parent. Reducing clutter in my home-like tackling constant laundry or organizing messy areas-frees up my attention. This way, I can focus that attention on less tedious and meaningless things.
So true! It really does feel therapeutic to get that out of the way. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for making these videos. I subscribe to 300 channels and you are the only one that I have notifications enabled for. I moved to NYC in 1992 and Angelika was a regular stop. I watched Reservoir Dogs, Naked, Blue, Orlando, El Mariachi, In The Soup, Eat Drink Man Woman, Exotica, Floundering, Before Sunrise, Fallen Angels, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Party Girl, Kicking and Screaming, Safe, and countless others there.
Love love love the editing on this!
Yay! Thank you so much!
Anyone who references The Artist's Way (my go to when I'm stuck) and transcendental meditation in one video gets my full attention! I've been writing morning pages for a very long time .... 3 pages daily. Makes a huge difference in my day. The best thing I learned over the years is find that time alone, even if just 5 minutes and feed yourself art, talk about it or write about it...then ALLOW, ALLOW, ALLOW. Let it percolate, give it tons of attention as often as possible. Live inside your inspiration bubble and don't let anyone else in. Jealously cultivate it and it will gift you in spades. Thank you for this!
Oh my gosh greatest comment ever! So delighted to have you here!!
❤ thanks for the warm welcome! I just discovered you last week and commented on one of your other videos about the film walk… I’m the one from Atlanta! Looking forward to more greatcontent from you!
@@juliettemansour Oh yes!!!! So lovely to "see" you again!
This hits home hard! A little less perfection, a little more enjoying and a lot more putting myself out there. Thanks for the support of my work as well, it means a lot 🙏
You nailed it. Thanks for being here!
i love it !!! Thanks Ali!!!
TYSM!
We enjoyed this - some wise words here and thankfully some things we are already doing. But we can definitely do better. Also, big fans of CleanMyMac!

❤️ glad to hear it!
You Rock! Such a great inspirational video. Lady Rick Ruben.✌
OMG BEST COMPLIMENT EVER!! I'm getting a Lady Rick Ruben shirt made :P Thank you!
@@OneMonthTwoCameras I seriously jumped in my car and drove to the mountains and took photos after watching this video. #ladyrickruben
You are my photography Buddha!
😄🪷🕉️
This was brilliant thank you 🙏
Thank YOU!!
Tremendous and inspirational. Great job as always!
Thanks so much!
Well said. My revelation was when I understood my "output". I stopped focusing on the ultimate resolution, sharpness and perfection when I realized my output was usually 8 1/2 x 11 prints (max 14 x 18), photo books and FaceBook. It is all so much more fun now.
Absolutely and great point!
I'm so glad I found your channel! Greetings from Cologne :)
Hello there! 👋🏼
Watched this while washing dishes after reading and tuck time
Thanks for the inspiration
Those kids are lucky ducks to have you. Glad you found inspiration in it :)
I first came to this channel for the camera reviews, but I stayed for the constant discussion and reflection on creativity. Your work inspires me so much and got me more invested into my now new favourite hobby, photography. I love the genuineness of your videos, how you show us a way to embed our creativity into everyday life. Thank you :)
Wow thank you so much. Really grateful to have you here.
Great advice.
wonderful video - what you told about inspiration, that's exactly what I am doing - except I do short videos on my photos, like a slide-show and put it on tablet and phone.
That is such a great idea!
Interesting and practical to implement bits at a time.
I love your hair so much, you’re so beautiful
Thank you 😊
Thanks Ali, you have music in your voice, great video. Thanks from Andrew in Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks for listening :)
Really valuable video!
Glad you think so!
Tbh not a type of video I generally enjoy but you're always engaging ✌🏼
.. if I had a macx I'm sure it would be squeaky clean.
Haha well I appreciate you as always :)
For some reason I didn't know you had a youtube channel. It's nice to put a face on OneMonthTwoCameras.
Super interesting content too! Wtf! How did I miss it xD
Hi! Glad you made it over here to YT!
I loved it! The title is a perfect description of the video but it doesn't do justice to how extremely useful it is. I would have called it something like: 'Beyond the Lens: Crafting Creativity in the Chaos of Everyday Life.
Thank you very much for sharing all these things; I hope it won't be the last time :)
I so glad you found it useful 🙏🏻 Thanks for watching and love the title ✨
Important video. 👌
❤️
360 MODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HELLZYES. More of that madness to come!
finding a camera, lenses and time to go out.
Another question. I’ve been trying to start a channel for almost a year now since discovering yours. I loved your advice to just begin with what I have, which is an iPhone 13 and an iPad Pro. I’ve started a handful of videos but just can’t seem to make it through until the end. I lose motivation. Either the editing software is frustrating me (I’m brand spanking new to video editing), or I don’t like the direction the video is going in, or I wonder if the video really matters to be made. Do you have advice on how to over come this?
That photo of yo hubby silhouetted is dope af --- as I land in ABQ I'm using this :)
GAH SO JELLY of your sojourn! Bring back some of those cowboy hats.
Thanks for sharing. It really pushes the right buttons right now as I'm feeling stuck in a rut last couple of months.
Whats the song (short sound clip) called at the start and at the end?
So glad it resonated. As for the music, the opening song was a little something I worked up and the last song is called Young Wild & Alive by WEARETHEGOOD (you can hear the whole track here - ruclips.net/video/FlFS9YCFCEg/видео.html)

Also, love the Poor Things score here 😄
Nothing makes me happier than when someone catches an Easter egg 😍 Thanks for watching!!
Awesome vid! Is that a Poor Things soundtrack I hear
YESSSSSS!!! 👏🏼👏🏼
Okay I love this so much but can you let us know where you print your photo books??🥺
+1
I think is Chatbooks
Yes the small books are from Chatbooks (tried to show the name on the back cover). The larger books are from Blurb and Artifact Uprising.
@@OneMonthTwoCameras thank you so much!
You are becoming my favorite photo RUclipsr (James Popsys is a hoot and inspiring too). I don't do Facebook or Instagram (I'm paranoid and of the wrong generation) but would like more info on those little books you get printed. Is it an Instagram only thing? I will be bingeing you the rest of the weekend :)
So happy to have you here! And no you can print whatever you want through the Chatbook service. There are also heaps more services like Artifact Uprising, Shutterfly, Blurb, etc. They all have nice easy and accessible interface options if you don’t want the workflow to be too involved and you’re a terrible designer like me :)
Do you have a video where you talk more about the books? My goal for this year is to make a photo book and I’m all over the place on which direction to go. I also love the idea of a book from my IG account. Thanks. Your channel inspires me always. ❤
Thank you! I haven’t made a video on that topic yet because I’m a fairly haphazard book maker but I like the idea of making something on the topic.
@@OneMonthTwoCameras that would be great
Well done video. Lot of work and not something you can dash off in an hour. Probably more things you wanted to say, could have said you stayed on track. The disciplines won.
Maharishi did such a great job with The Beatles. They broke up within a year.
LOL
Ali...OH SNAP!...WORD!...PRINT!
PRINT IT! :P
@@OneMonthTwoCameras Ali out of all my photos, my polaroids are my fav. They are SOOC and so authentic and artsy. Have been wanting a 5x7 printer to travel with but everything is mostly 4x6. I like the white edges around my images. What a timely and inspiring video!
@@bw2314 Oh I love that! Instant film is a brilliant solution and creative sandbox.
XCode... oh no.... you have my deepest sympathies 😔
:P

To get rid of your RUclips homepage, do the following: Delete the history and close it. Now you can only take care of your subscriptions
WHOA! Love this! Had no idea but such a great tip.
You grew up in a commune!? 😮
A commune of sorts :) A very strong community with its own schools and principals with a spiritual aim that bound everyone together
It seems as if this channel has now also lost its stubbornness and is going the way all channels go, for a few RUclips Shekles. After pushing the fake nostalgic Hype with digicams, which served to sell the own collection that was collecting dust in drawers at higher prices than they will be worth it, now shilling typical RUclips junk. You forgot purple and blue neon light in the background, only then are you relevant as a youtuber.
Wow my friend, you sound lost and unhappy. I hope the day gets better for you.
@@collapsingruins I didn't think it was worth responding directly given the criticism you dole out goes to the very origin of the channel, aka "the fake nostalgic Hype with digicams". Because the direct response there would be, why are you even on this channel commenting then now or ever? So now you have your direct response :)
@@OneMonthTwoCameras Reads like: "Please move on, there's nothing to see here".
@@collapsingruins reads like an indirect response. Alas….
@@OneMonthTwoCameras God bless you.
