    Absoloutley brilliant video!! I've been tearing my hair out trying to understand why I could resize the tabs, but the holes/slots were not working as they were not closed shapes!! As soon as I got to about 11 mins into your video, the part about 0 offset, I immediately tried it and lo and behold, it worked like a charm!!!! So happy, thanks for making the videos you do, I;ve been following for a while now, and even if I'm not looking for info contained in some of the videos that autoplay after the one I want, I find myself just watching anyway! Keep em coming, great work my friend!

      Like the video I dropped about creating a sunburst, you may have no need for a sunburst, but you may learn a trick that saves you tons of time. A lot of the time, my videos are more about the techniques used in the video than it is about the design created.

    Thanks so much. The other videos people have are great, but show how to use the slots/tabs feature whereas you’ve done the extra important stuff of troubleshooting issues👌🏼 really appreciate your work.

      I was in the process of finishing my video when he uploaded and I seen his title. My heart sank. I spend days preparing and editing. I do everything on video in real time. But getting it to ready for RUclips takes me a couple days sometimes. I was relieved that it was addressing two different problems. I was afraid I would have to reschedule my video and have nothing ready for this week. Thankfully, it all worked out.

    Steve. I’m at time mark 22:55 and haven’t finished the video yet but I think the reason your top slot was at 2.27 was that maybe it wasn’t exactly square? Maybe using the ruler to measure the short sides to verify. Will watch the rest and see if I’m right. 😊

      Glad you found this helpful. That was my mission when I started this journey. I've had no training with Lightburn, other the trial and error. I started this channel as a bit of a lark sharing what I learned as I learned it. We've come a long way in just under a year. And I'm looking forward to the upcoming months and new abilities Lightburn is adding this year. Stay tuned.

    Steve you are a genius, I ran into a similar problem with your file I purchased on the floating picture frame. ( at least that is what that file was called the one with the Truck in it) I know it was operator error on my part. I should have watched this video first.😁🛫

      I'm glad you got the problem resolved. I don't know about the genius part. My friends usually call me an idiot savant... minus the savant. Strangley enough after your messages last night, I started experiencing similar problems with files resizing slots that have worked flawlessly before. This was the first time using this tool with version 1.4. I'll hate it when a bug is fixed and the fix breaks something that wasn't broken. I've noticed that when I'm trying to make slots smaller, the blue lines show the direction of movement, making the slots larger, not smaller. This is a new problem. Oh, Joy! 🙄

      This is a jewelry box design I have been working on, on again and off again, for months. It is in its final steps of R&D. I have a couple of viewers that are helping me to test and revise the design. I plan to have it ready for release within the next month or so. It will be available on hobowithwood.com. But only recommended for creators with some woodworking experience and a strong comprehension of Lightburn. It is an elaborate build.

    Thank you for this video. It has helped, but I do have a question - I have a curved piece, and when I am trying to resize the tab height using YOUR method and it is making them a different shape. I also tried the lightburn easy way and it does not select all the tabs.

    I have nothing but but frustration with the tabs lining up in the boxes I'm trying to make.

    • @HoboWithWood
      @HoboWithWood  10 часов назад

      The exercise of learning how to make boxes is a great way to get familiar with the software. But once you can do it, it is a huge waste of time. The box generators are the way to go. Let them create the base design and then modify as needed to make the design your own. But I can relate to your frustrations. The lessons you learn from struggling with boxes can and will be used elsewhere down the road. But once you've mastered the slots and tabs creation, go with the box generators to save some time and headaches.
