The flute arrangement is very soothing. While the original is more upbeat and fun. It all depends on the listener to decide which one is better. I personally can’t decide at this point. They are both amazing. I would recommend for you to make your trills faster. Instead of making them a mordent, try making it a trill. So instead of three per trill, try maybe 5 or 6. I don’t know if that’s hard, because I don’t play flute. But I would imagine it wouldn’t be hard to implement.
The original idea in the first arrangement that I made was that the section from 4:55 to 5:38 would be played on flute exactly how it was written in the original score (with fast trills and in the high register). After later experimenting with the fingerings and technique (which were quite difficult at that octave), I came up with the idea that marking a mordent or a fast triplet would be much easier and would sound much better. Many of the trill fingerings that needed to be used in the case of a trill had flat or sharp intervals, which would obviously make it sound out of tune and at such a high registrar the true amount of mordents per trill would be masked. After reviewing the music the first time together, we realized that it sounded quite frankly, bad when we were forcing out the high notes at a truly soft dynamic. At the end, we decided to take the section down an octave but after reading your comment and listening to our recording, I realized that true trills would have sounded much better in a lower octave. I am currently working on a more final version of the arrangement and I will definitely take the trills into consideration. In terms of the tempo, I do prefer a faster version but we were not prepared to play at that speed. Thank you very much for your advice!

Great arrangement and playing! Congratulations. I'm sure a lot of work went into arranging it from the violin parts. Any chance you'd be willing to sell a copy of your arrangement? I've been looking for one for flute but with shipping to Australia it often comes to a total of around $70-80 AUD!
