This woman is completely lying. She makes absolutely no sense. Her receiving SSI or SSD has nothing to do with her husband's income. He don't even make that much money. She applied for disability. She didn't apply for welfare. Nobody stays completely broke for 31 years. She wants us to believe she's only got 70 bucks to buy food for the entire month ? Yet, they're paying over 300 bucks on a car payment and 200 bucks on gas every month ? She wants to work and clean houses 🏘️🏡 ? But, she said she's blind and has MS. So let me understand her (illogical logic). She can't see and she can't really move around. But, she's gonna go clean somebody's house ? Make that make (a tiny bit) of sense.

Sen basically what happens with multiple sclerosis is people get lesions (like scar tissue) in their brain and spinal cord. It can affect the ability to walk, talk, think, and many other horrible things. It can be so debilitating that some people become paralyzed by it and have to use wheelchairs or are completely bedbound. Fortunately many people don’t get that severe form of it but many do.

Food can be cut in half - need to meal plan and budget. Also look at pantry items and see what you can cook from there to cut costs.
You can cut electricity by keeping lights off when not needed and unplugging appliances besides stove and fridge everytime they aren't in use.
Phone bill, if you have a cell phone, homep phone may not be necessary.
    Car, get rid of it.
Doing that will give you the 500/month right there to save or apply to your debt.

Well, it’s a done deal, so why hash it over. University bachelors degrees are expensive, even at state universities it’s $60,000 for 4 years now. The proof that the degrees are not really paying off, which I know for a fact they aren’t. I was in backend finance managing communications for a 3rd party vendor for all major U.S. banks credit cards. The education debt is real, most of the jobs being created are the level of dung, like school teacher level that needs a part-time job on top. And the majority of jobs now are part-time 30 hours for businesses to avoid paying benefits. A bachelors in biology gets you a $15-$20 an hour lab tech job, bachelors in computer programming gets you nothing, because all the finance controlled businesses use a 3rd party vendor who ships in H1B workers from India as independent contractors for $10 an hour no benefits. That’s how America rolls through lobbyists.

They need to not be overdrawing at the end of each month... that can cost a LOT.
Just curing the overdrafts will make a difference.
$35 free from your bank and another $30 from the store where you wrote the bad check... $65 a check that you write after you are out of money.
If you have overdraft protection you still pay the bank overdraft fee.
And people who do overdrafts try to do it small, hoping the bank will let it slide which means they write a few overdrafts. Maybe $350 in fees a month.
Its as bad as or worse than a payday loan, which is a hole you never can dig your way out of.
    >
I know a couple of people who live on overdrafts... and I can't convince them that they are shooting themselves in the foot.

Several monthly expenditures here could stand closer scrutiny. $300 mo for electricity is a lot of electricity.

Perfect advice, except the car may be upside down, take it to Carmax. If it’s close sell it. Can’t beat a well taken care of old Toyota Corolla or Camry. The choice of car for college students. They need to find a way not to finance cars, it’s a death knell in this crappy economy. Also, get that electric bill down, $30 electric space heaters from Walmart, just in rooms used, will lower your bill, unplug everything you can, wear heavy wool in the house, in the summer, sweat it out or take a cold bath. Your goal is to cut electric bill to $150 a month. Go camping “at home” for your meals when you are able to save on electricity. No cook meals saves a lot. Turn down water heater. Just the $150 savings in electricity and maybe $10 savings in water use could free up $1,800 a year, that’s your breathing room, in case the car situation is not workable. But remember, no new cars, stick to super reliable Toyota really old early 2000’s Corolla or Camry . If you can fit in to a Toyota Prius C (a fitness routine and diet will save money and your health), a Used Prius C, say 2015-2018, gets 50 miles to the gallon, that feels great, too. Never buy a a used car without a clean 1-2 owner Carfax no wrecks, and pristine maintenance history, not passed around through dealers, make sure no water damage and Toyota’s can be over 100,000 miles, if they had the big 100,000 mile maintenance flushes, hoses, belts, brakes, new tires done. Best of luck!

the car would take care of a bunch since her car insurance is high. $2300 a year for a single car? I'd also move. Her gas and electric are sky high for 2 people. Sounds like too big of a house, and too much car. Agree $600 is a lot for groceries.

1/28/20....Woman is 51, blind & has MS. She keeps list of bills/expenses.
Hubby works---is 55---wanted to go to college so got $95,000. COLLEGE LOAN + she "didn't want to hurt his feelings or bust his bubble OR JUST SAY NO!"
THEN hubby MUST buy new $17,000.
car with monthly car pmt. BUT car is HALF his annual salary!
GUESS woman couldn't JUST SAY NO?
And huge grocery bill for 2 ppl---so either lots of fast food or filet mignon & caviar "tastes"?
WHY huge electric bill unless you leave all the lights on---have heat set on 85 degrees---have a/c set on 68?
BUT paid for house worth $225,000. that they can sell/move to he close to son/buy place for $125,000. to $150,000. & pay 💸 so NO mtg....& pay off $17,000. car & shop for reasonable insurance---MAYBE get same ins co so discount for home & car coverage.
Put BALANCE of home sale money in bank & DON'T TOUCH!
    Check on SSI....
WOMAN MUST STOP HUBBY FROM ANOTHER NEW CAR + ANOTHER $95,000. COLLEGE SCAM!

I would consider selling the house if they are paying $300 in electric and $200 in gas. They can find a total electric home for the $225K that won’t beat up the wallet so bad

I'm impressed. Most people I see that call Dave on disability seem to have little to no desire to work with conditions less than this woman has.

things that stick out to me is a 300.00 electric bill And a 200 gas bill. for a house thats worth 200 thousand that seems odd. i would understand if the heat and water were electric. But when you say the gas is 200 a month that makes no sense
