The thought of so many people living in such terrible and cruel situations breaks my heart on so many levels. It's appealing that the Philippine government isn't doing more for them since they deserve so much more. I appreciate you sharing this tour.

Most Filipinos would say that it's the government, but IN REALITY, it's also about the culture and mentality. A lot of Filipino families have TOO MANY CHILDREN. Young people don't think about the consequences of their actions. They make love and once the baby or babies arrive, it's only then that they seem to worry about the future. Because of big families also, especially by the poor, some children don't go to school or aren't able to finish their education. They rely on someone to work abroad and provide for the rest of the family without helping themselves on their own. I know it's hard to hear this, but this is my honest observation as a Filipino. Take accountability too as a people, not just blame everything on the government. A lot of Filipinos don't have discipline as well. They can't follow simple rules and would rather do something that's most convenient for them. I know because I'm from the Philippines and have seen this with my own eyes.

I agree with you, I have a Filipino friend in bayawan and I offered a job in Zambia 🇿🇲 africa, she refused. She just wants to be in America 🇺🇸 or south Korea and Japan 🎌 I knew this girl for 3 years now, I used to send her few coins, but now I have stopped since she can't work in Africa. 4 June was her birthday, she posted pictures with boys, very soon she will be a single mother and start asking for help again. Instead of picking up the job and start helping her family. But she only wants to go to countries mentioned above and she has no money or friends in the same countries. For security reasons I went to Philippines 🇵🇭 restaurant in Zambia 🇿🇲 and the few people I know from there talked to her, they told her that there's opportunities in Zambia that's why lot of Chinese are here. Still she refused that she can't work in Africa.

@@charleskapepa5080it's the government's fault OF COURSE. They have to power to implement the rules by not allowing SQUATTING but they just don't care. Did you know that SQUATTERS multiplied GREATLY after the EDSA REVOLUTION? It's when the government didn't know how to discipline the people. Everyone squatted where they can. 😊
