Spongeycraft So all you criticize is the fact that the angles change really fast. But that’s supposed to be like that, to underline the speed of the time, of the scene itself. For the sad, slow scenes, the camera is be the same.

What a nice homage to Marilyn Monroe- I like that no one copied anyone's look, but just presented a unique presentation of the song.
It was weird seeing Diamonds are a girl's best friend in Birds Of Prey in a dream sequence where Harley Quinn sings it and Black mask who is played by Ewan Mcgregor, is in the dream as well.
At least here it was cool. The scene in Birds of Prey.. *NO!*

I was 11 when this movie came out in 2001. I was dazzled by Nicole Kidman in this scene and her outfit was the inspiration for several Halloween costumes over the years, lol. As a 31 year old straight woman, I continue to be dazzled by her beauty, grace, and talent in this movie (and all others for that matter). Couldn't really have thought of a better actress to play Grace Kelly than her.

What a beautiful romantic tragedy! I love how Baz Luhrmann has this wonderfully strange yet uniquely beautiful vision in his movies! I must also thank him for introducing me to the amazing band Radiohead whom I first heard in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet.....another wonderfully unique & beautifully executed Romantic Tragedy!

To me, the Roxanne one in this movie is more expressive and amazing, i like it more than the original song itself, and this version of the marilyn one is very well performed too... and how they put in the material girl lyrics. I can see what you mean. Amy does old Hollywood waves with her hair a lot and always looks stunning. I wonder how it’d be to see Amy play Satine, she could probably sing it 10x better than Nicole but Amy has a more coy and innocent look, she might not be able to pull off a sexy temptress well.
When Amy Adams was the age Nicole Kidman is here, she was stunning. Kidman is 8 years older than Adams. Kidman was in her prime here, it's unfortunate that she decided to freeze her face with botox. I find Adams to be more beautiful now because she's aged naturally.
