Although it may seem like Ghib is just enjoying his food, he 's actually doing the hawkers a huge favour , given the fact that he 's a well-known youtuber patronising these stalls, he 's promoting their businesses, which is very helpful during the pandemic.
wow very nice of you to go back to the respective stalls to show appreciation and say thank you to the uncles and aunties for the food and drink at the end. 👍
You look famous ,well, all people love you and you not alone.🥳🥳🥳🥳👍you introduce good food all and sharing with many people with diff food would more yummy when dayn time go better n come out for din in stay safe n eat healthly.cheer 👍👍👍
Good introduction of the Singapore food to people in Japan. There will be many more to go as there are vast varieties of food in this multicultural society. Great Job both Ghib and Jimmy Yap.
Woah those dishes look so tasty! Every time a video on hawkers gets uploaded, I end up being hungry even though it’s usually after dinner. Great to see Jimmy as well. Stay safe in SG and hope we get to see more videos like this again soon!’
I love these videos. I keep notes on to-do lists for holidays, sightseeing etc. I'm a Singapore born Australian, and instead my to-do list for Singapore is just a list of my favourite places to eat, and another for places I have yet to eat at
I've gotta check it out next time I visit Singapore, good to know! Hope the hawkers can hang in there during this pandemic. Also, last time I visited in November 2019 (I'm from northeast USA), I made sure to bring some AIRism clothes to deal with the hot weather, lifesaver.
just bring ur beach wear will do. as long as you don’t walk into a aircon 5 star restaurant, esle beach wear or sport attire is accepted almost everywhere.
Hello BON ! It's been many years when I bumped into you and yr friendly wife in yr beautiful Canada ! I will always have a soft spot for the Canadian Rockies. Great food there as well
I also loved the breeze from the River and the well designed HAWKER CENTRE. The PCN ( Park Connector Network) certainly helps to bring many customers who stops for a drink or a meal
Not all kway chap stalls sell with braised duck. The soup base for those without duck is usually not "herby". That's a lot of food! Usually when I make avocado with gula melaka at home, that would be my meal LOL. You guys could have shared your dishes. You can ask for a empty plate or bowl.
Omg. I miss Prawn Noodles and Char Kway Teow so much. I wish there is a stall in Tokyo. Can’t wait for SHN to be over and I’m flying back to eat jumbo prawn mee. @GhibOjisan you should try Beach Road Prawn Mee
Yes, the char kway teow at Zion always commands a long queue. I also recommend the halal char kway teow at Bukit Merah View Food Centre. No pork but you won't notice the difference.
Hi IZ ! agree the Trees lined Singapore River that you see with its clean water ( fishes enjoying themselves ) helps with the airy feels. There is a Park Connector Network here for pedestrians and cyclists.
Aiyo, handsome Japan ah boy boy. Can not eat too much leh. Hahaha 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 waits how to chasing for girlfriend when she running faster than you hahahaha 🤣😂🤣 awesome 👍😍❤️
Ah boy boy 💓💓💓 Jimmy likes to hahahaha 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 next video you'll can have a title hahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 coming to have delicious foods and drinks hahahaha 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😋😍❤️
Hey ghib, that spicy wanton you had is called 红油抄手. U shd try the 红油抄手 from paradise dynasty. In my humble opinion, I think that is the best I've had. They are also known for their xiao long bao. Ding Tai Fung dont even come close. It's not cheap though. hahaha
Singapore does have really good varieties of food. Still remember and miss the duck noodle stall in Yishun in the 90's. I have never tasted anything better that that in decades. That Char Kway Teow if in Penang you would be served half the plate only.
I remembered the last time I had fried kway teow from this stall was more than ten years ago, when I was a kid. in the recent years, came here to have this fried kway teow but the queue was insanely long. waiting time was quite long, ended up going elsewhere for lunch. after seeing this video, craving for a plate of char kway teow and a cup of sugar cane juice at 1am. but char kway teow would be best eaten while its hot.
My hubby and I love our "char kway teow" in this little unknown coffeeshop at blk 462 crawford lane. Boss is kind to add more tau gay (bean sprouts) for free if requested. Almost a weekly indulgence if we have craving. Yummy.🤗
Yes this is my favourite place to go for char kway teow. The Chinese dumplings are delicious. Affordable and yummy. The prawn noodles are expensive and I would not say it is the best you can find.
Hi jimmy, thanks for sharing this video, did not know about the Zion hawker centre, only have been to maxwell, newton and Lau Pa Sat. Will go there next time when the borders re open. What is the name of the drink auntie gave you in the beginning , in the large beer mug? What was the name of her stall as well?
Hi Derrick Goh - good recommendation for GHIB's viewers who has never been there. This is a spot I frequent a lot with my friends to golfing friends of Keppel Club. I used to live at Blk 28 Jalan Bt Merah. We love the Multi Storied car park across the street that is linked and sheltered even during a rain
To all, kindly take note, as Ghib-San mentioned in the video description, this video is taken during Phase 3. As Ghib-San mentioned also, the prawn noodle's broth is so good because of the crushed prawn heads, but pork bones are also used and it is very important!!! If there are freshly fried crispy pork lard and shallots, it will be a 9.5/10 satisfactory meal!!! Same goes with the Char Kway Teow!!! Freshly fried crispy pork lard is a must!!! Char Kway Teow with freshly fried crispy pork lard are match made in heaven!!! 😍😍😍
Indeed this family run stall is very popular ! I used to live at Caribbean at Keppel Bay n my Keppel Golf Club members are all regulars here for the coffees to noodles, Malay specialties to Indian Briyani rice
By the time you took the first bite on the ckt, there was no more wok hei. It's gone after 1-2 minutes after the chef plated it. The taste of your ckt is totally different. You should go and try again and ensure that you eat it after he plates the ckt.
No , instantly i can think of another one , circuit road hawker center. And also a east coast hawker center next to the beach. There could be more , you guys have to search on your own.
Ghib, you should try the Teochew char kway tiao at Telok Blangah Crescent. Hai Kee char kway tiao. Queue start before uncle opens at 5pm, and closed at 10pm or until sold out. The amount of fried pork lard and cockles very generous, not oily and very very addictive! Uncle is so nice, polite, and stall is very clean too!
I'm a local and a CKT can. There are at least several more CKT in Singapore that's better. Consider the CKT stalls in Henderson, Hong Lim, Old Airport Rd., Marine Parade, etc. and you'll know what I mean. End of day, taste is subjective. Just enjoy 😋
Haha I used to live 5 mins drive away from this food court that is directly opposite Great World City. Amazingly many famous hawkers are still around after many prosperous years
Wow I went by the hawker center last week when I took the park connector along the hawker center but dint try the char kuay teow. I will have to do it sometime when I go by the Singapore/Alexander River park connector someday again !
Ghib this is how you eat kway chap: Scoop some kway(noodles) together with the chap(gravy), dunk the meat/tau Kwa/ tau kuah(deep fried tofu square/fishcake/meat/innards/skin into the vinegary chilli, place it atop the kwaychap then place into your mouth -- Hmmm heaven. There is a tedious & demanding task of cleaning the innards so as not to have a gamey taste. You should try Toa Payoh BLK 93/94 hawker centre. The kwaychap there is cheap rated 6/10. The hawker center feels so homey and since it's near the river it also seemed more airy, the place has lot of AIRism going on ^_^
