    • @MP60
      @MP60 4 года назад +28

      Natmeris it doesn’t get any better than that backhand. His forehand is equally devastating. Once he gets his first major under his belt (I abhor the use of the term slam) he will go onto to win multiple majors.

    • @MP60
      @MP60 4 года назад +3

      razneK because a slam is when you win ALL four majors in a calendar year.

    • @MP60
      @MP60 4 года назад +8

      razneK Incorrect. The term ‘Grand Slam’ was originally coined to describe Rod Laver’s feat of winning the Australian, French, US and Wimbledon titles in 1962. Laver is the only player to twice achieve a Grand Slam, in 1962 and 1969. The term has since been diluted by lazy journalists looking for a way of sensationalizing the majors. Now everyone calls a major a ‘Slam’ which is wrong.

    6:52 Thiem using the tactic fed used in 2017 ao final (and djokovic his entire career) against nadal. Drill that crosscourt bh flat to rafas fh

    • @buggesej

      Exactly... Djokovic crushed Nadal with that BH crosdcourt in the AO final 2019

    • @FirestarG1
      @FirestarG1 3 года назад +9

      Chooey Sooares exactly, you’re right, people don’t realize it. He tries to put them in a backhand prison with his forehand but just ends of getting beaten by a player with a good bh. It’s a nothing strategy that a lot of lefties use.

    • @rijulgupta1597
      @rijulgupta1597 3 года назад

      Well that works as long as rafa doesn't take it down the line on the forehand.He normally goes back crosscourt giving a shorter ball to his opponent but sometimes when he has that urgency to win the point he will go down the line too and then his opponent has no chance of winning the point.

    • @FirestarG1
      @FirestarG1 3 года назад +1

      Rijul Gupta yeah honestly that almost never happens and he’d need an easy shot for that to happen. Also usually his down the lines aren’t perfect so if the opponent moves properly he can still get the ball.

    • @robertingersoll3039
      @robertingersoll3039 3 года назад +7

      @Chooey Sooares It was effective only because Federer was adamant about using the 90" frame and also, Ivan Lubijic deserves massive credit for improving Federer's backhand. Federer should have cracked the code on that lefty cross-court several years back. Since he was too late to change his frame size, the record of most GS titles is in the cusp of getting broken by both Nadal and Djokovich. If Federer loses that record he will have no one but himself to blame. Whoever holds the most GS titles will arguably become GOAT. My favorite is Federer but he was too late to solve that dynamic. Now, he will have to depend on luck to keep the record. Unless of course he shows the 2017 form in 2021 and picks up a couple more slams (it is a long shot but one can hope for it to happen).

    • @__jan6113
      @__jan6113 3 года назад +1

      Honestly as a fan of Federer I would say it looks like that because Djokovic fans like putting abusive comments against Federer which creates arguments between them. They won’t do it against Nadal because he still has his chances to keep up with Djokovic in winning slams considering their age while Federer doesn’t have that so they can abuse or mock him and his fans. And since they don’t do it against Nadal his fans might not be that visible as much as these 2 on social media while in stadiums it’s clear how loyal Nadal and Federer fans are for their favourites.

    • @gordo1191
      @gordo1191 3 года назад

      @@__jan6113 no, while many djokovic fans are extremely toxic, in the comment sections I see, federer and nadal fans are starting the arguments. Of course, a lot of the fans are very nice people. I just hate all toxic fans, whoever they are fans of.
