Great cover, nailed Stevies playing note for note. Does show however that no one’s been able to replicate Stevies voice/singing. Dude was one of the most soulful blues singers that will ever exist.
not saying it's "easy" but it's definitely way easier learning to play SRV by the note than it is imitating his vocal cords.. they're just an accident of birth and lifestyle
First time I've heard this dude. He sounds good. When Stevie died, there seemed to be pretty healthy influx of people that came to Austin, and were kind of touted "the next Stevie Ray", but, we knew there would never be another one. There were, and still are a lot of good players. The closest I've seen that does Stevie stuff, I saw several (quite a while ago) was Tommy Katona. He's originally from somewhere in Europe, and I think he lives in Dallas now. But, he's got Stevie nailed, closer than I've seen anyone, including vocals. Check him out if you get the chance. He's a good player.
@@slimbuttermilk agree totally on Tommy Katona. Saw him last year in Katy, TX. Amaaaaaaaaazing! And he did some ZZ Top cause he was close to Houston. Killer show. Texas Flood is so good. I think this Thursday 07/20 is the 40th anniversary of El Mocambo. Will be watching that again for sure.
SRV you could hear every note ....even in the fast stuff. Don't get me wrong.....you are great. But Stevie was the greatest. Thank you for loving him like the rest of us.
I truly can appreciate the amount of work you put in to be able to perform SRV’s work at this level. Kudos to you, sir! I would just say - Do Your Own Thing! You don’t have to be a Stevie Ray clone to gain recognition. There’s only one Stevie Ray Vaughan. RIP SRV!
Absolutely I was gonna say the same thing. If SRV had seen this guy play, he would be flattered, but probably wonder if he can play like that what the hell’s he wanna play like me for? The same way that SRV sounded EXACTLY like Clapton in Cream in highschool. It was to a T. But he transformed all that skill set from a clone into a crazy unique sound.
@@guyfromthatthing1017and the guitarist would reply, “Because, Mr. Vaughan, you are dead and I love your music. And you inspire me every day, though you’re gone. And not only do I want to pay tribute to you and expand love for your music to future generations, it’s a helluva paycheck.”
I've never seen anybody perform Stevie Ray Vaughan tracks the way this guy does well done to you. Eye of all people know how difficult it is to be able to write songs as good as stevie ray vaughn did and are difficult it is to be able to make it as a full-time musician at that level the stevie ray vaughn did i would say you don't need to dress the same as stevie did I will say this you you are probably the only person who has ever got close to the way Stevie played but please do not dressed like in and act like in just play his songs it really is like you have cleaned yourself. Get your own image up on stage you don't have to be Stevie.
Why close your eyes when this bloke has gone to great lengths to wear the gear and play the imitation guitar , personally I don’t see the point , I think it’s a bit lame I’ve seen many great SRV styled guitarists who don’t do the full impression . Then there’s the hats , good grief, I’m seeing a lot of musicians who have to where the hat, wtf is that about , I’m a musician so I have to wear a hat it’s part of my sound
@@luxibro I don’t deny that he was pretty darn good but why the cosplay, personally I found SRVs garb pretty trashy but he got a free pass because of what he played and the way he played it, this bloke beside his excellent rendition has gone all out with the hat n boots the SRV tribute replica guitar the strap and whole nine yards in an attempt to replicate SRV very presence , yer man was closing his eyes to all that visual stimulus that wild bill had obviously gone to such great lengths to present
Usually these types of things just make me shake my head, this one makes me shake my head at how close it really is. The singing is good, the playing is great! Killer stuff
All of us string runners owed him,to pay a tribute to him and play this well is fantastic and shows much love and dedication its the persona copy thing thats f t up imo
This guy is very good! But, it’s a testament to SRV that even a guy this good leaves something to be desired. There was just something magical about the man himself that just can’t be replicated. Nonetheless, this guy killed it!
Stevie Ray Vaughn already did this.
Great skill
Go be you
This dudes awesome !
Excellent Excellent!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Us guitar players dont realize how hard it is to play his licks until you sit down and learn this stuff...lol !
This guy definitely channeling Stevie. !
Who is this Talent???❤❤❤
There’s no one like Stevie Ray, but man this guy killed it. Very good!
Sos un crack loco!!! Saludos desde la Argentina 🇦🇷!!!
It tales BIG Balls to play Steves's material not to mention impersonating him.
This gut Phucking NAILED it.
KUDODs to the band for fine accompaniment.
Jesus someone put that guitar out!! Its on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 🎉🎉😍😍😍
GREAT !!! Compliments from Italy !!
Sooooo awesome!!!🕺🎉
Gawddamn, ol' George Armstrong Custer is absolutely KILLING IT on that Strat!
HA HA HA HA I was gonna say Jethro Tull but Custer is better!
Or Steve Gaines! Lol
He keeps turning up! Saw him on the golf course last week.
?not?
By far.. the funniest comment I've read in a while. Thanks.
Dude can play like Stevie Ray!!! That was awesome 😮
Watching from Greece.hi everybody.
Best guitarist ever. Noone like him.
Good job. sound tight. Has the SRV intensity down. Takes Cajónes to play like the master. Impressed. keep it going Long live the memory of SRV.
Steve's music still alive because of bands playing like that.
It's still alive because it was his music and his style ,not some copy cat. If it wasn't for Stevie this guy would be working t Walmart
I grew up in Austin watching Stevie and this is close as it gets.
Quality job 👏 👏 👏 respect to you keeping srv alive 👏 top draw 👏
I saw Stevie 4 times. This guitar picker makes me smile. Hats off to him. That's hard work playing SRV. Keep up the good work mate, I'm proud of you.
If I close my eyes I'd swear to God it was Stevie playing
Amazing!! Roby is the best
WOW.........
Love to go see theses Guys....
What A Natural!
Rip Stevie......
Great cover, nailed Stevies playing note for note. Does show however that no one’s been able to replicate Stevies voice/singing. Dude was one of the most soulful blues singers that will ever exist.
Texas flood cover band frontman is pretty well rounded
not saying it's "easy" but it's definitely way easier learning to play SRV by the note than it is imitating his vocal cords.. they're just an accident of birth and lifestyle
Good tribute, no doubt, BUT even without seeing who was playing I knew it wasn't Stevie!! Stevie was more than his not3s and style of playing.
Have you checked out Tommy Katona, he has a similar voice in some videos 😊
SRV was underrated as a vocalist. He was amazing.
Very well done fellas!!!!!
It's not just about conjuring up the SRV tone and attitude...his phrasing was very unique, and this dude gets closer than anybody I've ever seen ✌️
Holy Mary, that was perfection.
I am stunned, he completely took
on the spirit that embodied SRV.
👍👍👍👍👍

Shaw Davis ....Dan Patlansky....and Phillip Sayce get pretty damn close too especially when it comes to the slow stuff.
Com certeza lembra bem SRV pela técnica. Não é qq guit que consegue manter esse feeling.

VERY VERY Impressive!! Talk about hard to cover!! man you ripped it up!! Huge fan of SRV and he smiles when yu play his music brother!!
This guy is so good he even put in extra licks at that tempo 🤯
One of the best tribute bands I've ever seen at lock 3. COME BACK AGAIN ROBY
Lock 3? On the Warrior River West of Hueytown Alabama?
@@NativeSon60 no, I saw him at lock 3 in Akron ohio last summer
Few players on the planet at the skill level of Roby Duron! Had the great pleasure to play live with him a few years back :O)

Keep doing your thing, guys. A very worthy tribute and fantastic to keep the legacy of SRV and Double Trouble alive.

Incredible!
And he played with the exact intensity. Loved it

I saw SRV live. I used to live in Oak Cliff. This made me tear up. Incredible. Long live SRV.
