She remembered it differently, accepting the absolute gladly etc. etc. but it was all an illusion/dream made up by the elder brain, not even once was anything she did in the name of the absolute her own choice - she's terrified of Orin and has/had a burning hatred of Ketheric Thorm. She also agrees fully with you about wanting to take revenge. But she is a drow and holding power in their hand and using everything to get said power is the very foundation of their society/culture. Survival of the Fittest and she doesn't intend to lose.

You can even ask her how she avoided breaking her oath while acting for the Absolute and she'll tell yoi plainly that it was mind control, she had no control over herself or her actions. If you play as her, and kill any innocent character, it will still immediately break her oath. Shes not some murder hobo, she has strict rules and a vendetta against those who harmed her.

So I downloaded the mod that lets you get her on a good playthrough, and honestly, it feels more like that was an option the devs had originally considered/planned. But despite being Lawful Evil as a Drow, her backstory is kind of like a horror movie. She talks about how she had to helplessly watch as all her men were slaughtered before her eyes, and that it was Ketheric toying with her, then they put a tadpole in her eye and warped her mind so bad that she was convinced she had free will this whole time. She even admits that she is horrified by how many people she killed/butchered in the Absolute's name, but realizes that it was never even her own choice to do so. This is what frightens her, cause she was genuinely convinced that those were her own thoughts/decisions and never even suspected that her mind was basically not her own. So even though Minthara is probably not a paragon of virtue by any means, she is technically less evil than Astarion when you really compare their own choices/decisions. This is genuinely just a show of how good some of the writing in this game is. Like when I first played the game, I didn't like Lae'zel and Shadowheart was my bestie. Then getting deep into Act II was when you really see the two in almost a entirely different light based on the deeper context of their stories. It's just **chefs kiss**

She's 100% lawful evil. Saying that as someone who playef Evil Dark Urge and killed most NPCs in the game. She likes power, but she isn't fond of senseless killing for the sake of it. If you tell her that you just like murdering for fun she disapproves and tells you she can't trust you.

I killed her in act 1 when infiltrating the goblin camp, I already planned on romancing Shadowheart and playing a fairly good aligned character, one conversation with Minthara was enough for me to say "I can't fix her". As much as drow may be physically appealing to me, evil is not.
iirc my vengeance paladin mostly 1v1ed her while the rest of the team took out the goblins in the room and the floating eye, I was pretty shocked that she's also a vengeance paladin but i only found out after smiting her. Im still not really sure why she's a vengeance paladin since she's pretty obviously has no morals or empathy.

The fact that you choose to be good aligned but romanced shadowheart is actually wild. If you were gonna go that route the obvious choice would be karlach
I’m ok that you sacrifice people to get this company, but it needs to be more worth it, she needs to be on par with an origin character, because you essentially loose two, which is an absurd amount of content lost with nothing really to replace it. There rather has to be a good recruitment, or she needs to have a much greater impact of a story, because narratively speaking the grove raid is substantial to the character you are playing and how it connects to minthara, then she just takes a back seat the rest of the game? It’s lazy, and there is no excuse, minthara fan or not. Rework her, give her much more, she probably should have more content and quests then wyll and karlach combined if you loose both of them, or a good recruitment, or both.
@@Novictus heard it’s really buggy if you go that route though, you still loose people from the grove. So it’s still loosing content without content being added in.
I am currently in process of getting her as a team member, but I have lost three members, Gale, karlach and wyll. Don't particular like gale or wyll, so it didn't hurt losing them, but karlach? That one hurts.
The downsides to getting Minthara as an ally outweigh the upsides Yes you get a great lawful evil character, but you loose a large chunk of side quests, companion quests, and even a companion or two out of it, and her personal quests and romance path aren't as fleshed out as all the others are. Some people say Karlach was left with so little because she was added last, but Minthara takes the cake here tbh

I remember first time I saw this during my evil run. I had been in character for awhile at that point and the puppy dog eyes trigger two things. One: A rather messed up laughter at the fact this Drow looked to me, the slaughter of tieflings, Gith, and Harpers as her savior. Two: that little part of me that really wants to be the hero of the story… in character I decided my Druge did it because he saw Minthara in battle at the grove. He needed another martial powerhouse besides Lae’zel.

@@YourHaelinnah uh, quite the opposite, these outfits will makes your character weaker than using the normal outfits, I mostly use the outfit mod for cutscene purpose so my party in these videos look more elegant and has more variations than using just one or 2 armors I usually use during my normal gameplay, besides using mod to make your party OP is pointless if you can't challenge yourself then you'll get no fun playing the game, as a veteran Divinity OS player Baldur's Gate 3 combat is easy to learn.

After finding out she's aggressively monogamous, she's easily the best, and most valuable romantic companion in the game.

I’m ok that you sacrifice people to get this company, but it needs to be more worth it, she needs to be on par with an origin character, because you essentially loose two, which is an absurd amount of content lost with nothing really to replace it. There rather has to be a good recruitment, or she needs to have a much greater impact of a story, because narratively speaking the grove raid is substantial to the character you are playing and how it connects to minthara, then she just takes a back seat the rest of the game? It’s lazy, and there is no excuse, minthara fan or not. Rework her, give her much more, she probably should have more content and quests then wyll and karlach combined if you loose both of them, or a good recruitment, or both.
You only need to lose Halsin and you cannot progress Karlach's story because there is only 1 hell smith in the game.
@@Novictus heard it’s really buggy if you go that route though, you still loose people from the grove. So it’s still loosing content without content being added in.
I am currently in process of getting her as a team member, but I have lost three members, Gale, karlach and wyll. Don't particular like gale or wyll, so it didn't hurt losing them, but karlach? That one hurts.
The downsides to getting Minthara as an ally outweigh the upsides
Yes you get a great lawful evil character, but you loose a large chunk of side quests, companion quests, and even a companion or two out of it, and her personal quests and romance path aren't as fleshed out as all the others are. Some people say Karlach was left with so little because she was added last, but Minthara takes the cake here tbh
i think that’s part of the price you pay for going down a dark path.

The only real loss for getting her (companion wise) is Karlach really. Wyll is kind of boring. The loss of loot and other nice things also sucks.

@@chipsfries5638 yeah he’s pretty one-track and there just isn’t much depth (lots of muscles though!). Minthara just seems so much more well-developed and actually has a character arc.

I remember first time I saw this during my evil run. I had been in character for awhile at that point and the puppy dog eyes trigger two things.
One: A rather messed up laughter at the fact this Drow looked to me, the slaughter of tieflings, Gith, and Harpers as her savior.
Two: that little part of me that really wants to be the hero of the story… in character I decided my Druge did it because he saw Minthara in battle at the grove. He needed another martial powerhouse besides Lae’zel.

@@YourHaelinnah uh, quite the opposite, these outfits will makes your character weaker than using the normal outfits, I mostly use the outfit mod for cutscene purpose so my party in these videos look more elegant and has more variations than using just one or 2 armors I usually use during my normal gameplay, besides using mod to make your party OP is pointless if you can't challenge yourself then you'll get no fun playing the game, as a veteran Divinity OS player Baldur's Gate 3 combat is easy to learn.

You dont have to kill the tieflings to recruit her. Knock her ass out instead if killing her. Then she ends up in dungeon at moonrise and you can save her and recuit her. People saying she pure evil. Ya she is evil, however so is astarain. Mathara is very loyal once she not under the absolutes control.
