    It’s so unbelievably frustrating that there are no affordable rifle actions available. It’s cheaper to buy a Remington 700, savage, or Howa and get a custom barrel, that it is to just buy an action.

    Just a quick note about the Proof Pre-Fit barrels. Proof research guarantees the head spacing of their barrels to the action. The only thing they don’t guarantee is where the caliber etching will end up but in my experience they are always close.

    • @davidwarren3433
      @davidwarren3433 9 месяцев назад

      There are several barrel makers that guarantees the headspacing of their barrels to custom actions nowdays. I have a CarbonSix Carbon fiber barrel in 6.5PRC on order right now and they Guarantee .5 inch MOA w/ load development of their barrels. Other barrel makers are getting the action info from the custom action makers and getting the headspace near perfect for custom builds.

    The Savage barrel nut system makes it super easy to put together an amazingly accurate rifle, without having to take it to a gunsmith for chambering and installation. With a set of go/no go gauges, I got a Savage pre-fit from Shilen, and put it on a Savage 110 tactical action, in 6mm creedmoor. Shoots lights out!! 115 grain DTAC’s with H4350 can stack shot after shot right on top of each other!
