Well. I just found your site; and there's my rifle! Now I know what the "AE" means. mine's a little newer, with a tang safety rather than the lever safety. I bought it about 10 years ago from a guy who had medical bills to pay, along with a companion '60's-vintage Ruger Blackhawk... both in .357 Mag. A nice pair.
I have the older one top eject, saddle ring no safety, I think my dad got it from his dad and I’m 42. I should look up the serial number, I’m sure it’s pre 64
Any suggestions for bullet grain? Using 180 gr soft tip makes mine give a wide pattern. Would the 240 gr be better for this barrel length? I picked up the Hornady leverevolition 225 gr for hunting but it’s too expensive to use for sighting it in.
Anyone having carrier problems with the post 64 44? Well I have. Got a Winchester model 94 44 mag used. Cocked it one time and it jammed plum up...tight! Had someone tell me it was the carrier from the broken piece I showed him. He offered to fix it....6 months later a demanded my rifle back. He had put the original carrier that he'd have brazed on and filed on and all beat up in a bag. He got a new one from china it is in the gun now and has been brazed and beat on. I watched numerous RUclips videos on assembly and dissembly over and over because I've never attempted fixing a gun. I finally found a original carrier and a new carrier spring. I probably wouldn't be writing this I the year of my rifle was the same as the videos I was watching. Mine had a push safty I didn't take out so couldn't get to where I could change to carrier. All that said this carrier in a Winchester model 94 Post 64 44 mag seems to cause many folks problems. So my question finally.... Is there anything that needs adjusting or smoothed off or guide adjustments, anything?? Or if it keeps happening the gun just can't be fixed... that's what the man finally told me..... I'd appreciate your help or videos Chaplain James "Hooter" Eaton admin@ brandedbygod.org
I've had mine since 1987, 44 mag and it has never given me any problems feeding period. I shoot everything from low load 240gr LSWC to full blown 300gr WFNGCs at very hot levels. It works like a dream and is accurate as hell.
@@imwatchin7770 the 94 was designed for rifle cartridges. 92 was designed for pistol cartridges. I think ive heard some issues with pistol cartridges in the 94! But if u haven't had any that is great glad you haven't 😊
@@clinteastwood9115 I think I lucked out and just got a damn good rifle. It is so handy and has pounded some hogs. Farthest off hand was an 85yd heart shot and that's pretty damn good with my old eyes, lol. That thing loves my 300grn hot loads.
I bought the same model in the summer of'89. I still have it and it's still my favorite gun.

The new hornady bullets with the flex tip makes this an easy 100 yard or better rifle now ,,,, thanks for the video ! 👍

The 92 is better for pistol cartridges cause it was made for pistol cartridges

nice :D i hope some day i can buy a Winchester Model 1894 Trapper Carbine in .44 Magnum
Winchester stopped making them in 2005..Howa firearms in Japan makes them now
I have one. It is very accurate
I love mine
75 yards??? HAHAHAHAHAHAI have went WAAAYYY further out than that with my 94 44mag! It is easily effective way beyond that!
Yes, I took a 200lbs doe at 220 yards with my lever action 44mag using 240gr hard cast bullets.
good for wild boar and big game at close range.
it came out in the 71 or 72... I had one.
Why does he keep saying .45 long colt?
That's what a lot of people call it. Did you understand what he was referring to?
If im correct the 94 had feed issues with pistol cartridges

You have to work the action aggressively..if you soft stroke it you will have feed issues
Published a year and a half ago and "trapper" is still mispleed in the title. Guess who's got two thumbs and not clicking subscribe.
The Chopping Block is your mispleed a typo?
It’s misspelled
I never liked the lever safety on the 94 .
The used inferior metal in the post
