- Was recently introduced to Dance Gavin Dance, so I got into Mothership a bit late. But wow, what a stellar album. DGD has a plethora of catchy songs. So I naturally wanted to cover one of my favorites off Mothership. I know I didn't play this exactly as it was recorded, but whats the fun in that? As always with these drum covers, its not always easy to layer your own processed drums over an already mixed and mastered track. But I did my best. Enjoy guys, let me know what you think.

Question! What were you using to get that sweet kick sound? Heads and kick beaters and any EQ pads/patches (or triggers lol)? I have a similar Mapex Armory kit but haven’t gotten it that dialed in
May I ask for the details of your cymbal hardware? It sounds great.
Sure no problem.
Actual cymbal hardware is a mix of Tama and Mapex stands. The hi hat stand and tom mounts are Mapex. The cymbal stands and splash boom are Tama. I have since added two additional cymbals which are not seen in this video, but everything you see here is as follows. Meinl Byzance 14” Medium HiHat

When start the voice , the drum is slow and melodic, i dont find a drum beat or cover with this style

+Josh Summerville Funny that you said that. My cameraman was suspended after reviewing footage. Hahaha Maybe this will help. Crash and choke the Cymbal with your right hand. Your left hand will take care of the two floor tom hits, then snare hit.

I can understand how 1:11 could of obviously had a better angle.
But you’re complaining how at 3:00 the camera is a little zoomed into my face for the last 13 seconds of the song, when nothing important is really going on with the drums. And you hope my other videos are “better” because of this? lol
