Looks great for commuting or a bit of local green lane fun. Can't help but wonder when the likes of Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki are going to get involved in electric mobility.
Thanks so much for the review James, a really nice looking bike this one, its too small for me sadly as I am 6 foot 3 but for smaller riders this is a superb smart looking commuter, read through some of the comments below and I think some folks are missing the point, this isnt intended to be a long range bike, its a commuter and weekend sunday afternoon short range pleasure cruiser, I would much rather have the charger off the bike saving space and weight, personally I like the regular chain and sprockets, easy to get hold of, cheap and easy to change, belts are a pain in the bum, I would swap that at the expense of noise. One minute people are complaining EVS make no noise now they are complaining that they do LOL, folks may have noticed its noisy out there! once you get over 30 mph your only going to hear wind noise for the most part. I like the removable batteries, thats nice, makes charging indoors an option, would like to know how it accelerates, looks sharp enough, price is going to deter kids I think, this one will be picked up by inner city folk I would think esp inside the M25, styling wise its really nice, very reminiscent of the sinnis SMR 125 which can be had for 2 grand less. Would like to know what warranty is offered on the frame, drivetrain and in particular the batteries (including the charger) again this is a big risk for folks, you could take finance on this and still only be half way through the finance to find you have no warranty, batteries are expensive to repair and or replace. Only reviews I could find on this bike were in foreign language so thanks for taking the time.
Is that a oil filler/dipstick on the left hand side, by the front sprocket location? Integrated chain lube or a oil filled final drive reduction? The brake switch/controller kill line could easily be tuned out. Most of these bikes run a controller that's easily tunable with a bit of google foo.
Greetings and thanks for the great review. I am between this and the Solar eclipse 2.0. I wanted to ask you, how does the bike hold up after 3 years? Do you recommend it?
Wow. A emotorcycle with actual real attention paid to the suspension. THAT is rare and beautiful thing. There is not sufficient fluid in the left reservoir!Nice work with showing the stuff at night. I would have liked a white wall low beam shot to check the masking. That is something many LED heads do not do properly. The masking does not appear to be correct from the road shots
I have been looking for some time for a reasonably cheap electric bike that is CBT legal, the Zero one instantly drew my eye but it nearly 10k it is a bit much and so it really is down to the super soco TC Max / horwin cr6 or the Kollter ES1-S Pro, as far as looks i like the look of them all but the thing that concerns me is the lack of tank storage on the Kollter that and that seat looks rather flimsy and with only one lock protecting those batteries it looks like you could simply pull the seat in the middle and it would flex and come unlocked, the only other issue with all the cheap e bikes is that dang cheesy start up music I mean why and there seems to be no information on disabling it. Also a question as i can't seem to find the info anywhere is the seat covering on the Kollter waterproof or just basic fabric?
Been interested in the enduro version since I sat on one at last year's motorcycle live. This is the first English language review out their. Only seen one other but that was a customer reaction to a test ride. For green lanes, commuting and short blasts out it seems like a great bike. I'd prefer it to the electric mountain bike style, with also look fun, just because it's more to my taste. Be good to see you on some great lanes with the enduro to see how the range holds up.
Few things that decide against this one@: The charger is too big to carry and therefore if you run out of charge on the road you are snookered, the battery is what 500 charges each at most? Indicators are a bit finicky. The noise doesn't bother me. The Horwin being more expensive is worth it as it has much better panasonic batteries-rated for 2000 charges, in built charger so you can go MUCH further and carry the charging leads with you, indicator button is much better too.
Another great video from James & Kate 👍 Nice looking 125cc eq commuter. Guess I'll have to go down to the local Artisan dealer for a test ride once the ES1-Pro is available. The switchgear looks like it's the same as fitted to the Super Soco TC Max and I agree the indicator switch could do with being push to cancel.
Do you happen to know what the top speed is and range with only a single battery? Wondering before I spend 1,300 Dollars to get the second battery. Great video, thank you for the information! Have a great day
so one thing I never seen anyone do is compare this to a gy6 150cc moped that also tops out at 55mph. but is somewhat slow to get there. my biggest question is, from an acceleration standpoint, how much quicker is this then my gy6 up to speed? I know I'll go away from my moped simply because I cant stand sitting on the moped with nothing holding me in the seat except gravity. I really miss pinching the bike between my knees to make me feel like part of the bike, instead of sitting on top of it. like I could slide off the side of this thing somehow. lol. really 60mph is all I really need to commute my roads are 50mph anyways.
I took this for a test ride this weekend, brilliant fun and much better than the Supersoco or Horwin CR6 in my opinion. the next best option is the Zero FXS which is so much pricier!
What are the advantages of that bike over the cr6? Isnt it more convenient to charge the cr6 while on the way? Having that huge charger for the es1 means charging just from home or carry a brick with you. Can you charge de cr6 out of a standard wallcharger? What type of connector does it have?
Cool, looks fun! I might get one for zippin aroun but I’d rather still have gas. If for no other reason(there are more but…)than refill takes 5 minutes not HOURS. I imagine battery tech will take another leap soon and range will go up with less weight. One thing I wondered if you could get side cases and carry 2 more batteries(width any EMC) if you had to get some more range.
Then dont ever try going on a long journey cos it will take forever and it seems you have to carry the heavy charger with you and hope you can find a socket in a motorway service station or an A road cafe and make a coffee last 4 hours! It's ridiculous! A serious biker would never consider this to be viable
It fits a purpose, commuting, green lanes and short fun rides. Its what I would use it for but your right it's not a viable alternative for easy pleasant distance work but neither is my cheap 3 year old lexmoto 125 which is why my main bike is 900cc. If I could afford one for that kind of usage I'd be tempted and the usage Vs range argument is one we can't seem to shake off with any EV.
Nice bike, but it could do with the ability to use EV chargers en route. Lugging that big, slow charger around can't be much fun, especially seeing that it reduces your average speed on a long journey to less than 20 mph. If it could recharge in, say, 30 minutes at a charge rate of around 2C (~15kW), which is reasonable for a Lithium battery, then that would be brilliant for everyday use and for occasional touring. Even a 7kW charge rate (about an hour) on public chargers would be acceptable for most people. But as it stands, I have to agree with you that, as a town bike, it's near perfect.
If I remember there is a smaller charger that you can store under the seat in place of the second battery but that does mean halving your range and performance, sadly the lack of onboard storage due to the design is a real problem because if they had made the tank area larger it could have been used for the storage of the smaller charger like super soco did, it is kinda why I am steering more toward the horwin cr6 sure it is only 6kw but it can still do the job but it has a massive amount of tank storage and also the charger is built in so all you need to carry is a simple charging lead that goes from a 3pin wall plug directly to the charge plug so you can shove that in the tank storage and simply plug it in at your location, and more and more EV charge stations have waterproof 3 pin wall sockets.
Not that impressed with the stupid external charger. Are you supposed to carry that charger lump with you if you go anywhere and need to charge? Why not make it a standard Type 2 interface like everyone else?
Expense and ease to change it should it go wrong. Also, it leaves more space for batteries, so more range. Tbh, you won't need to take it anywhere except for the very odd occasion and chucking it in s rucksack would be ok for me.
No thanks. If it weren't for that awful noise, I might be interested. If I wanted noise, I would stick with my ICE bikes. One of the huge benefits of an e-bike is NO noise. Noise on an e-bike is a deal-breaker for me no matter how good it might be otherwise. I'll pay double for a Zero FXS instead.
While i have not personally used this bike so can't really say but the chain noise could be because the wheel is slightly out of alignment or the chain might be to tight, I have used a horwin cr6 that is also chain driven and it was utterly silent ( aside from the usual motor noise )
This may be a tad louder than some of the others but it’s still a hell of a lot quieter than most ICE bikes. If noise was an issue for me (which it isn’t..I consider it to be a very effective safety feature) I’d sooner spend a few quid to convert it to belt drive, rather than shell out double the purchase price for a zero. Yes, the zero does have other benefits/advantages but some of us just aren’t looking for such frills..this bike has/does everything required by most of us & is fairly priced in my opinion
Yep. It does look 'different'. 'Covid cuts' are introducing some novel styles. My wife cuts mine, and it's not bad. The hairdresser is now redundant, and we've saved £30 already. Oddly, she will not let me loose on her hair. I wonder why not? 🤪
Don't buy this bike, it's full of electric faults, the milage is false, I bought mine brand knew for £4500 , 3 thousand on clock and 4 times it broke down, the shop and the finance company has refused to help me. They said it my responsibility to get it fixed when it's still under warranty. Stay away from this bike , nothing but problems and bad customer service . Its brakes down on the road within 5 seconds with no warning, completely dangerous
The twin batteries are a great idea but the bike is really pig ugly. Also led headlights are rubbish. They need to be so powerful to see the road that they would drain the batteries too quickly. My evo3 lights are ok for traffic to see you coming, but forget about night riding unless the streets are lit.
Looks great for commuting or a bit of local green lane fun. Can't help but wonder when the likes of Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki are going to get involved in electric mobility.

I love your videos and perspectives but when I can’t hear I have to skip. You really should check into a a remote mike with a wind muffler.
Okay, I've ordered and received a wind muffler, hopefully you'll hear the improvement 👌🏻

13:04 lol that’s Hinckley road I live not even 10 seconds round the corner from there and just drove down there earlier

As a paranoid, I would be afraid that the batteries would be stolen if I parked it unattended. Especially access to the upper battery is very easy.
What are the advantages of that bike over the cr6? Isnt it more convenient to charge the cr6 while on the way? Having that huge charger for the es1 means charging just from home or carry a brick with you. Can you charge de cr6 out of a standard wallcharger? What type of connector does it have?
Did you ever get a leak on this? I have one on mine only 1,000 miles on it and I've had other people reach out saying the same thing.
Brought here by Ben good guy good channel you both have here thank you for the information

If the rear rim is 3.5 inches wide It can take normal supermoto rear tire 130/70-17
Does it have a seperate 12 volt small battery like an EV or is the voltage much lower that a solenoid is not needed?
No separate 12v 👍🏻
What is the highway range.
Gd review. how can you compare this bike to the zero ?.
Didn’t catch the price, was it £4600.oo ?
£4687
Hi whats ur height? Do you think it will fit mine 193 cm and 125 kg? Thanks for the review!
The sound of the future. 👍 Not a fan of linked brakes. never got on with them on my VFR.
How does it compare with the super Soco?
You said it is limited to 60,can it be derestricted?
Great report! Thanks.
Great review, not a bike person but this looks cool
4 HOURS to recharge after only 70 miles!!! you think thats good?
from a 3 pin plug, surely that isn't bad
Yep. Because 70 miles is 4 times the average commute and most people sleep/work for more than four hours a day.
Then dont ever try going on a long journey cos it will take forever and it seems you have to carry the heavy charger with you and hope you can find a socket in a motorway service station or an A road cafe and make a coffee last 4 hours! It's ridiculous! A serious biker would never consider this to be viable

I have Quazzar e Divine, 25 miles range, charges 5 hours, never ran out of charge, or even been close to

What cc is it equivalent to?
125cc
Thanks. That's good news.
James,
What is a "DRL"?
I may be an "Old Fart" but a plug is "male" and a "socket" is female.
Motor driven cycles are fun (until you fall off).

that noise, instant nah. i'd love if Artisan offered belt drive on the site as an option
Too bad it doesn't have a maintenance free belt. But still a very attractive bike.
