Hi both, I hope you read this! I pick up my MG this week, The dealers CHORLEY just called and said they have installed the update too allow timed charging.
I have a horwin CR6. Very good bike. Much better quality than the supersoco. Perfect bike for commuting if you do not need to take the highway. You can smoothly follow traffic up to 90 km/h. If you take maintenance and fuel into account, I am sure this is the most economical transportation possible. Cheaper than any other motorcycle or car.
Can you share more details why supersoco is in lower quality than CR6? Have you checked both before personally? I was thinking about CR6 too but the fact that I can replace the battery, recharge or simply store it at home during the winter time is valid argument.
@@mojtajnynick101 yes, I saw both bikes. The CR6 is just bigger. More wide. It looks more like a real bike. It also has a bigger battery. To me it was worth the extra 1000 euro.
Its a really interesting time in e motorcycle evolution to see a bike moving into the almost vacant gap between mopeds and big players like Zero and Livewire. Loved your review James though I live in a hilly city and wonder what this bikes speed drop off would be over a variety of hilly city streets. Cheers
Greetings from Barnet! I disagree when people call this bike a cafe-racer! I lived all my childhood surrounded by cafe-racer bikes, which were that Standard built in its factories. Have you ever heard about FAMEL ZUNDAPP XF-17 SUPER motorcycle, for instance? I love this Horwin BECAUSE IT'S NOT A CAFE-RACER although it has a cafe-racer seat and its bar, overall is not that same Style. Why? -The handle bar should be way lower, width shorter or even split like the ones of a Racing GP bike, and its grips should be at near seat level/height and (optionally) outwards tilted down diagonally. Congratualtion on the review, mate! ✌😎Stay warm!🥶😄😉
Right away, You had me googling for a dealeship, and prices in Norway. :) Unfortiontly there is'nt anyone. :( Prices are fare, in comparison with other 125cc bikes.
Very Super Soco!! £5k is incredibly expensive. Now call me a cheap skate but until these are around the £2.5k to £3k I can't see many being sold. But hopefully the prices will come down fairly quickly and when they do I'll happily buy one just for bumbling around the lanes to the cafe and doing small errands.
In one thing you are wrong. The tension a belt drive needs is less efficient than a chain. Beltdrive is the least efficient way to run a motorcycle. The order says. Chain, kardan and then beltdrive when it comes to the loss of power through secondary drive. Google it. Therefore a chain is the perfect secondary to get more mileage
The SUPER SOCO TC MAX is more beautiful and has the possibility of removing the battery for charging at home or in the office and costs 1000Euro less, the Horwing CR6, perhaps has the longest and most comfortable seat for the passenger, you should try it.
The super soco is frankly chinese rubbish. I have rode one, its a smooth ride i grant you that but it rattles like crazy and everything just feels too plastic and not built to last. Plus the batteries on the TC MAX only go up to 500 charges , the same on the Horwin CR6 is up to 2000 charges and are higher quality JAPANESE panasonic batteries. My vote is GO Japanese batteries over Chinese EVERY time!
Love the style, and looks like a great commuter bike, only down side for me and means i cannot buy it is the lack of removable battery, thats why the TC Max appeals to me, so many of us live in flats with communal parking, and the ability to remove the battery to charge it is a must
I'm really interested in getting an e bike, been looking at super soco tc max, better performance but range is terrible, just wish this was about 10mph faster, but the range & the fact my surname is orwin, I'm gona look into buying one of these, plus government grant, should get 1 for around 3k, pays for its self in a couple of years
Thanks James. This bike makes me wish that I'd taken the motorcycle riding test 40 years ago, when it was simpler! I would definitely be riding one. Is there an option to add more battery capacity? A 100+ mile range would attract a much bigger market.
Good vid, but I really dislike the over use these days of the catch all term "cafe racer" Caf racers were proto sports bike!s with dropped bars that were so low you were basically lying on the tank. The only feature on this bike that remotely tips a nod towards the genre is the rear of the seat unit. Looks like a handy bike to chuck in the back of my eNv200 camper though 🤔
its not manurable because its a ev its because its light all light bikes are the same sort of thing but i get what your saying because the battery is lighter than a engine lol im only pulling your leg mate nice vid ty and nice cam you must use and bike looks real nice as well
For the kinda money suggested, I'd go for the evoke urban s. 81 mph top speed, 0-60 six secs. Learner legal to, at 19kw motor ( peak power, which companies list the motor powers at, UK law is continous power at 11kw for learner legal, kind of shows how piss poor all these motors really are. And how over priced they truely are).
The motor is not oil cooled. Both the battery and the engine are air cooled. There is no oil to replace. The only maintenance is the brake fluid and the tires.
Great little bike but no belt is a bummer. The Super soco TC max has a belt with same specs sort of ( max 90km) 72V battery but less range , 100km . also a great looking cafe racer
but is inferior in quality (btw you sound like a rep for Super soco) the TC MAX loosk to be a MUCH lower quality build than the Horwin . Lesson learned NEVER trust the CCP controlled Chinese bikes and always chose JAPANESE components!
Hard to see where it fit's into the electric options really given the price ? An electric pedal bike would suit for most commutes at a fraction of the price and it's range and charging rate makes it a poor replacement for an ICE motorbike ?
So many different all electric vehicles are available to choose from in 2020. No reason to choose a polluting gas or diesel vehicle any more when EVs are just better.
@@Big_John_C More wind and solar being added to the grid every year. It is time to dump coal fired power plants. Wind nd solar energy are safer, cleaner and cheaper than fossil fuels.
@@Big_John_C we can start this argument time and time again. If I charged this bike 100% from coal, which is impossible, it would be 4 x cleaner than an equivalent ICE bike. It makes me want to get back on two wheels again. If I do it will definitely be electric.
Yeah me too, once you try one u are in love. No sound for me is peace, and the reprix amazing and brakes and speed.

Amazing, really pleased to hear it. Miles, and Chorley are both excellent 👍🏻
I just bought this last week. Still waiting it to be delivered though. Cannot wait to ride this.
How is the bike? Have you had any issues as im looking to purchase one too? 😁
Great looking bike. And it's electric 🤔😮😀
I was looking at electric motorcycles online just 2 days ago 😎
Well worth a look 👍🏻
Look at bumblebeebikes.co.uk. East Sussex based.
Decent bike, that. Like you say, it looks well assembled and it makes a good commuter or learner bike.

Hi Peter. Thanks for your comment. The speed does t drop really, it’s quite powerful, unless you’re riding up a mountain that is 😀👍🏻

And those are the cheapest ones out there. There is plenty of models with nice range and power but they are as expensive as a luxury SUV
Wish we could buy this in the US! I'd buy one now.

I agree, but everyone is at it currently. In all honesty, I prefer a sit up position in my old age than flatting out over a tank 😂😂
They might be but, as VeeFour wrote, that is still not any sort of 'cafe racer'. If they try to sell it like they, they will be laughed at.
Excellent and precise review 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Does the digital speedometer need to be in MPH to be legal in the UK.

Will you be reviewing the Horwin CR6 Pro when it's available?
Nice vid James
Thanks for The vídeo, i going to buy one This week. Your range is very high….how you drive?
Sensibly 👍🏻
Looks very nice.
Wild at heart- theme song, which is better, the cafe racer or the theme...hmm hard to choose.
New logo for you channel then , looks like a good bike , how much is it then ?
So what's the predicted cost then ?
Maybe have a quick look on Horwin website. €6,290
As mentioned the website should tell you, but as yet, they aren't released here.
@@Jamesandkate it's a shame as 6k will put nearly everyone off. When a 125 is only 3m average

Take a look at a Sur-ron.
Is it sold in Europe ?
Not related to this video, but I’m looking forward to mg zs ev vids. I’m interested in knowing if you’re having cold gate issues.
Check out Bjorn's videos on the ZS EV in Norway. He's found some coldgate problems.
3:16: transverse front fork ?? what is that ??
also: in fact a belt is NOT more 'efficient' than a well-maintained chain.........
also: can you get one with a full rear mudguard, rather than the nob-jock fashion accessory seen here - with the middle bit missing?? YOYOY?? SAKES
I think I’m buying one tomorrow and I’m looking for reviews to put me off. You didn’t help.
Charger is onboard?
Why has it got a Rev Counter ?
The motor still spins, and while you cannot shift, it still has a top rpm.
It's styling is somewhat dated, I think it looks quite similar to the 1994 MZ Skorpian.which, as a design, is getting on for 30 years old!
naked retro bikes are considered very stylist. There is a reason why triumph and royal enfield are still making retro looking bikes

One of the most important point with electric motorbikes is the noise !!

A quick internet search shows around €5,890 so that is about £5K
How’s the performance compared to a “normal” 125cc gas driven bike?
Similar to 60mph, but the ice will take it at higher speeds
