I guess they didn't want the file to rub against the scales either...
But this updated file is a lot better at not scratching the back of the blade, because the cross cuts sit a bit lower than the tip. The pre-2018 file design scratched up the blade a lot.

I carry the Cadet Alox Silver version and the Rambler in my Alpaka Zip Pouch Pro. I tried fitting the Alox Pioneer X & the Compact in place of the Alox Cadet but sadly neither could fit well without having limiting access to the inner compartment. Guess the Cadet Alox really is the chosen one to sit in my wallet.

Those would certainly be great for carrying in a suit pocket. Useful tools in a slim package. I think they missed a trick with these though. Making the end of the file a 2D crosshead screw driver would have made then even more useful I feel.

I have actually used the tip of the file as a 2D Phllips screw druver quite a few times, when the can opener tip was too big, or I didn't have enough room around the screw.
