Just a comparison of two Slavic-themed tarot decks.
I should add that my copy of Tarot of the Golden Wheel was trimmed - I got rid of the bottom titles.

I got them both now. I bought Golden Wheel a while ago, a year maybe, when I was searching for some Slavic decks and it was the only one I found. I like it, it looks pretty, but it didn't feel 100% right for me. I'm Polish and Golden Wheel has more Russian folk vibe which I find too intermixed. And I think that was a reason I struggled a little with this deck.
But when I found Slavic Legends... Oh boy, I fell in love immediately and I finally felt something resonating deeply inside me. This beautiful deck is with me only for few days now, but I already feel like I'm using it for decades. I am actually an inexperience tarot user and I had to check basic card meanings many times before but Slavic Legends cards speaks to me right away. I love it!

Hi I dont have slavic legends but I do have Golden Wheel. At the time I was also looking for slavic decks (im Polish too) and this was the only one. Its very very pretty but somehow I have big struggle to read with it. Even tho most images are quite alive - the guidebook and "message" seems very flat. So I rarely use it and even thought about rehome it. I dont like its russia vibe also. I am wondering tho about buying Slavic Legends. I dont feel like instant urge to have it (like its not the most amazing thing I've seen) but I feel a bit drawned and with hope its better slavic themed

    Thank you!
Just showing me that I love my golden wheel and don't need another slavic deck, although the other one is quite nice too.

Thank you for showing this side-by-side comparison of two beautiful decks. I have the Tarot of the Golden Wheel and adore it. The Slavic Tarot is beautiful as well, but I am not in a hurry to buy it. Still thinking about whether I need another deck. 😂

Interesting. The Golden Wheel Tarot seems more cohesive to me.

Beautiful cards in both decks.. makes it hard to decide so I guess I'll get both 👍 Thanks for showing this! Although I lean heavily to the deck on the right.. The Golden Wheel deck.

They are both really beautiful. I prefer the art on the Golden Wheel, I think Losenko's watercolors are really beautiful, especially on the courts! But for whatever reason, Slavic Legends which is overly decorated, hard to look at and aesthetically not my cup of tea kind of a deck READS SO MUCH BETTER. I can't get enough of that deck.

I love that you compare the two… I agree with what someone said with The Golden Wheel feeling more cohesive. The Slavic Tarot dips too far into fantasy art for me but the nature and detail is stunning! I can’t really stand beefy buff men either in the Slavic Tarot… seems a bit cheesy. Though I don’t usually mind if cards don’t have titles but there are some cards in The Golden Wheel Tarot that would need a title (such as the 6 of Swords) so that is a little annoying. I love how opulent the Slavic Tarot is.

Super, że wpadłaś na porównanie tych talii. Obie są świetne, ale Slavic Legends bardziej mnie zaczepia. Plus za świetną jakość wideo :) Pozdrawiam!

Altho living in Australia currently, I'm moving to Serbia to be with my Mrs and since we are both Slavic background, I am going to need to get ourselves a deck each of the Slavic ones....never knew they existed. Love the Slavic deck :-) I've already bought her about 20 decks and just when I thought I was done....lol

Thank you for doing that!!. Glad to have the Golden Wheel. This made me appreciate the gentle and evocative soul in its art.
Love though the intensity and power of new one. At least not all the cards had antlers/horns.🤣

I bought Golden Wheel twice and gifted it twice - could never work with it, especially now. As a Ukrainian, owning a Russian-made deck that calls itself "Slavic" feels very wrong. Russians (or more accurately, Muscovites) were never Slavs, they have historically persecuted and destroyed Slavs, and have over time stolen and appropriated so much of Slavic culture and even the name of their country which was derived from the Ukrainian "Rus". Their desire to be associated with Slavic cultures and to be the supreme Slavic culture is largely behind the centuries-long colonization and genocide of Ukrainians and many other peoples. This is not to tell anyone who loves their Golden Wheel not to love it - if you don't have those associations, it wouldn't be an issue for you. But for those of us who know history, associating anything Russian with Slavic cultures is both inaccurate and painful.

I'm Bulgarian and I feel connected to Slavic culture even though we were as well colonized in modern days by the Russian communism after ww2. Yet our cultures will always be influenced from one another and emerged.
