- Today I hopped inside the all new 2024 Mustang Dark Horse and as a 2022 Mustang Mach 1 owner I had to give an honest review of the new S650 Mustang. This car truly drives amazing and looks even better! I think the price tag the Mustang Dark Horse comes with isn't too crazy considering the Mach 1 was right there when this car was released. What are your thoughts?

Hope you guys be careful on your trip, especially at the tail of the dragon. Don't try to drive outside of the cars limits cause its fall time and the leafs are on the road up there making it slippery. Have fun and be safe my guy.
Just purchased a 2023 Mach 1 Elite Package/Handling package. for $56K with 2.7K miles. Dark Horse is nice, but I like the look of the Mach with all 4 fat tires. Manual BTW!
It’s so insane that dealers are trying to sell them for 90k… and most people don’t even get the tremec 😂😂😂 the 24 GT has upgraded shift forks so the mt82 should probably be a lot better.. I think I want to go for a 24 5.0 maybe next year and try to get one for around 40k 👌🏼

The amount of data collection these 2024 Mustangs collect is insane.
A common example of riding the clutch is to keep slight continual pressure on the clutch pedal whilst driving, as when a driver habitually rests his/her foot on the clutch pedal instead of on the floorboard or dead pedal.
Puts a lot of unneeded wear on the release bearing too.
Very common mistake and easy to do.

Good video always I also like MUSTANGS I am 64 and have 2006 GT YELLOW with CERVINI body kit Roush stage 3 SUPER CHARGER + 600 HP TO REAR WHEELS very fast only 21thousands miles don’t drive it too much at 64 it sort of scares me in a good way but you got to love MUSTANGS keep up the good work I just retired 2years ago from ups now I got time to watch your videos I think you guys have the best Mustang videos your viewer MikePierce Lexington Kentucky

Congratulations to Jake on the Dark Horse. It is definitely a gorgeous car. Maybe the S650s will grow on me but I prefer the Mach 1.

Great video again Derek!!! Would love to go to your four meets especially driving on the Tail of the Dragon but still waiting on my Dark Horse. Now with the Mustang plant closed down for the UAW strike I be waiting a few more months. I have done the Tail of the Dragon a few times in my Porsches. Any performance car is a blast. Heck I want do it on my motorcycles!!! Tell Jake to get some Kooks headers while he waits the next 12 months to be able to tune the DH.

I cant imagine going on a motorcycle, im up there all the time and literally see people going through the ENTIRE other lane through blind curves and it just blows my mind. Worst part is... they are still slow.

Oh and I bet that auto Rev Matching is nice.. I am so used to doing it myself but that would be nice to have.. One less thing to deal with. And it must really save the clutch for those who can't drive a manual well.. Just Imagine all people who have gone from 4th to 3rd instead of 5th like they ment too.. That's a huge save on the clutch if it Rev matches mistakes.. I get why they do auto rev matching now.. I am older so I grew up on manuals.. My first Vehicle was an 1976 F250 390 Big Block with Nasty Headers, I bought that truck in 91 though.. She had the Granny Gear so you had to start off in second... So it was really like driving a 3 speed Manual. 1st would only go like 5/10 miles an hour max.. LMAO..

Only if there was a place where you could send both cars to the limit, 🤔. I'm thinking of a place closed to the public. Maybe sharp turns, long stretches, in great condition. Maybe I could be the first to build something like that. I think I'll call it a track. Open to ideas.

I’m still not digging that cluster screen at all. They could have worked it into a twin cowl, considering it’s two separate screens anyways. It just completely throws off the Mustang aesthetic

The side-stepping of the Mach 1 comparison is hilarious. Let keep it 💯, it basically the same car, but heavier, screens, locked ECU and more expensive. It's definitely a cool car, just lacks the charisma of the Mach 1 and GT350.
Ok something to keep in mind here. The dark horse is not a better track car than a 1le. Throttle house even said that the only reason the dark horse is faster than the Mach 1 is because of the tires. The trofeos hook better than the cup 2’s. And throttle houses track is not a hp track. Just because a car can go around a Walmart parking lot with cones faster than a gt500 or a 1le does not make it a better track car. When you take into account that the dark horse weighs 4100lbs and makes the same power as the previous generation and is only quicker because of new tire technology how are you getting the same car as the s550
The Dark Horse doesn't weigh 4100lbs you added 150lbs to the car... they are only slightly heavier than the S550 cars (81lbs heavier than a 2023 Mach 1 6spd) my guess is the bigger brakes are where some of that weight is coming from. As far as the HP goes it is close but also I haven't seen that many 2024 Dark Horse dynos and besides Steeda haven't seen a Dark Horse and Mach 1 run on the same dyno... got to give it more time but I suspect the Dark Horse will be putting down slightly better numbers but it will be close. Also Throttle House is definitely not the standard for testing cars I enjoy their content but they are just basically a slight step up from hobbyist.

The Mach 1 looks way better than the Darkhorse. I have a 2016 GT and love the S550. The Darkhorse just isn’t special to me like a Mach 1 or a Shelby. Just my opinion.
The s650 interior is excruciatingly horrible those screens are detrimental. Praying they get rid of the screens in the S750.

This guy thinks the Mach 1 is this special car. They still have new ones not yet sold lol
That doesn't mean it isn't a special car it most certainly is the reason some were not sold was because they were optioned in a way most didn't want i.e. no track pack and auto transmission... also dealers were marking them up and they were already on the high side for price... but once again doesn't mean it isn't a special car... a Mach 1 with the track pack and tremec 3160 transmission is a special car.
