Minelab X-Terra Elite 1st Live Dig and My Thoughts.

- I was fortunate to see an Amish farmer tilling up his field so I stopped in and got permission to hunt his field with the Minelab X-Terra Elite metal detector. I dug just about every target that had a decent tone just to understand what the machine was telling me. The one thing I figured out is that you will know when you walk over a good target vs a bad target with this machine. Enjoy.

Thanks for the share. The Elite will be my first Minelab. Been a Garrett user for years. Personally, I like the detection tones of the Minelab detectors over the Garrett.

Hey M&M. Enjoyed the vid. No fluff,right to the point. I'm one who doesn't need shots of the sunrise or butterflies. I'm watching because of the promised content. You got my subscribe. You assisted with a decision to buy the elite. I waited for the vortex but it's a non starter right now. I own four Whites, one Garrett and the 540. After being in this hobby since 95 I'm looking for depth and fair accuracy in target I D. The exterra seems to be it. Thanks again and good hunting.

Hi Matey, which would you buy between the Xterra Elite Expedition Pack v a secondhand Equinox 700 , as both are around the £600 mark here in the UK.. but no videos matching them …great channel matey 🇬🇧🇺🇸

. Used both avg depth 8 ins . Best for our parks. Sensitivity 25 recovery 3. . TONES 5 🎶.. ACCEPT REJECT 12 to99 in others out. THRESHOLD =0 but do a balance to find frequency on ground to hunt or keep in auto tracking. Fe Al ways --1. Brilliant in 15khz as well. Did a 600km run 12 Parkes done Craig got 28 dollar coins 48 2.00 dollar coins Brett. 22 1.00 dollar coins 5 old silvers creek area near park 4th one 2.oo 14 coins . Andrew got the lot won carton of bundy camp fire rum 🥃. 38 one dollar coins 58 2.00 dollar coins 17 silvers. 2 were 👑 crowns 3 rings 😮. We all had same settings. Top run.😂.

There is nothing in the Elite that Minelab couldn’t add to the Pro with one simple update.
Perhaps.
Same could be said for all of the SImplex and Score series of detectors to bring it up to a Legend level. That is the push with software upgradable machines where a manufacturuer has to make money by offering different level / capabilities of detectors without stepping on their own toes.
It’s a walk on the balance beam for them to not piss off their own customers. If someone spent more $$ on a particular model that a lower priced model was later updated by a software upload that made it equal to -or- better than the higher priced model, then the manufacturer would be hurting themselves in the long run…
They could update the Pro but they WANT people to buy the Elite. The Pro is a multi-frequency machine where you can manually select each frequency to use. I believe the Elite uses the same frequencies but they operate at the same time simultaneously.
Yes you wonder if it could be that easy to update the Pro to run simultaneous multi-frequency like the Elite?

Whats your verdict on iron/ ferrous discrimination?
My opinion? It's awful; worse than the Pro. The amount of iron I have dug up since getting the machine is way up than on the Pro.
Especially on big iron chunks as well (tractor parts etc). A solid, repeatable 42/44 on the vdi in all directions so one should dig that all day long.

Just a question… what do YOU do with all the clad ? I’m up to a 5 gal bucket of clad lol
Wash/tumble it then stick in a coin star. Or roll it up and cash in at the bank. It's money! It helps pay for gas and detecting gear.
Cash it in and buy another detector :-)
Play with your dog metal detectors will be here for years a good dog is hard to beat.

Hi there.. I'm new to the hobby. Is there any reason you pressed on the button continuously when noise canceling?
I use Manticore but same functionality. We hold button down until it stabilizes to a number that keeps coming back the same number then let go the button if it repeats on same number.
I saw in another vid that the Elite has the normal manual noise cancel and a "rolling" noise cancel when you hold down the accept/reject button as he did i this vid. I think it was brought over from the Manticore might be wrong tho.

hmmm I would disagree a smidge. I think this is an improvement over the Pro. Just because I didn't find anything amazing doesn't mean its not better. There are some definite improvements in stability and depth IMO.
