As a Sens fan, losing to the Sens is rough
I can’t believe my Oilers lost to you guys 🥴
@AttilatheThrilla we win against good teams and lose to bad ones

13 years no playoffs is wild
Last time Buffalo made the playoffs I was in elementary school and the Canucks went all the way to the cup finals. So yeah, it's been a long time for Buffalo.
Damn
No, the Wild made the playoffs last year.
I know I meant it is wild as in crazy for the Sabres@@djgregus
Bedard was 5 the last time the Sabres made the playoffs
I thought "yeah, I'd boo this team too losing the game 5-0" only to eventually realize that it was 5-0 in the 1st.
Yeah against the Senators too who have arguably been a bigger letdown this season lmao
anyone paying attention would know the sens are improving and likely will continue to@@delilahknight6068
Levi saved them from total embarassment making 31 svs on 32 shots
They start booing when it was 4-0 after 9 minutes lol
So sad to see the arena empty every night. Their team is just not allowed to be good 😭
Looks like Hartford
When they broke through and actually got a 3 game winning streak (a couple of weeks ago), the arena had a sizeable number of Sabres fans packing the arena. Winning cures a lot of things.
@@paullastnamehere3295 yep. Too bad they took a step back this season
@@TOCC50 I'd much rather go to a Wolfpack game than see the Sabres. I'd rather be in Hartford than Buffalo too.
It's like God hates the Sabres ffs
As a Sabres fan it is nice to see other fan bases sympathize with us. The Sabres players were mad at fans because they bood them earlier in the year and in return the team stopped saluting after their rare home wins. If other teams fanbases can see the awful effort then these players have only themselves to look in the mirror.
It is surprising they've gone so long without making the playoffs. I'm not sure which is worse...not making it at all, or losing in the first round every year like the Leafs do. It's almost like a wasted era. If the Leafs ever change upper management maybe things will start to improve...but it's disappointing that no Canadian team at all has won in 31 years. There's lots of talk out there about the NHL doing things to prevent certain teams from winning. The longer it goes on, the more you think it may be true.
Sens fan here i can't imagine. I just want my Sens and the Sabers to be relevant again while the Red Wings can suck for all eternity. I do like the Goat Head jersey a lot
No sense in hating on the Red Wings. I’d like to see an era where all 3 teams are good. I thought it would be this season, but that hasn’t gone so well. The Atlantic is about to be a blood bath here soon.
@@Winged_Wagon_Nation as a Pens fan, Hockey is better when the Red Wings are good
I am a leafs fan. I have cleaned a spot on the couch for you. I can share the years of disappointment with you so you know where this is going to go before it gets better.
I went, moved from 313 to 108 in the 2nd and glass seat in the 3rd. At least the side mission was better then the game
my dad and i used to do that all the time at the old AUd wed get higher seats then move down to the blues or reds during the second period or so..always worked out well
@@sonnyc3826 dang the old Aud, that was the first time me and my buddy moved down. Had some help from some fans letting us know if someone sat there. I also talked to the security as we walked in to get our free seats.
Most arenas don’t let you do that
@@barrygerenski6259 Most teams don't suck for 13 years like us either 😪
The 2nd and 3rd goals are seriously unnacceptable. You don't even see that lack of effort in beer league.
Yep. We've been seeing that effort all season in Buffalo. Easy to get away with when there's zero accountability in the organization.
As a sabres fan who doesn't remember them being in the playoffs in my lifetime, I don't particularly know why I'm still a sabres fan.
Hope is a powerful drug.
I'm guessing you live in Buffalo? I can't imagine how awful that must be. Not only is your government Communist, your weather is the worst also. I wonder what the suicide rate is there.

We can look at coaching staff. The owners. Players not caring. But at this point this Sabres team needs GOD at this point!!! This is just sad and embarrassing. Anyway playoffs should hopefully be fun to watch something my Sabres team seem to not care being in

God I miss the early 2000s Sabres..
Yep when it looked like a team that really wanted it. Not just talking about the players, the staff/coaches/gm's also. Darcy Regier did more then the last 3 buffalo gm's combined.
As a sens fan I also miss the 2000's sens, sabres and sens had some epic playoff battles back then, those were the days.
@PerfTemp yessir. The brawl of 07 is one of my more memorable moments between the two haha
Oh my GOOOOOOOODDDDD
it used to be funny, now its just sad
As a Sabres fan, I agree.
🗑️🗑️🗑️
The worst part about being a Sabres fan is how much we still love the team. we’re excited to watch them play, wait 3 days and let them score 5 goals before we can get a shot on net. It just leaves us with a big hole in our heart that can’t be filled by any other team
Former Sabres fan here; after they failed in the 2007 postseason, and then decided to not even *TRY* at free agency that summer, I checked out.
About a year after, I found out that the Chicago Black Hawks picked up Buffalo-native Patrick Kane in the draft. Then, in the 2009 playoffs, I saw playoff games featuring Chicago, and Kane and the guys were really putting in some hard effort. So, I decided that Chicago would be my team.
The next season afterwards, Kane played a big role in their postseason success, and would cap it off with the overtime goal in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Even though Kane now plays for Detroit, I'm not going to jump over to the Wings. Nope. Three Stanley Cups while he played for Chicago; I'm good.
One last thing: I took my wife and daughters to the Hawks-Sabres game in 2015; be it on the Metro train, or inside the arena, Hawks fans *OWNED* the joint! I was having a great time as the Hawks scratched out a 4-3 win, and so were over half the folks in attendance.
Remember when Pegula said: "The Sabres exist to WIN THE STANLEY CUP"? What happened? Did he actually LIE to Buffalo fans? You have to ask that question.
But think of the elation when they finally climb the peak and win it ALL! you were there for the entire ride! There were not very many Patriots fans BEFORE they started winning a bunch of Super bowls. its funny being called a band wagon fan now, even though i was a fan going back to the early 1980s! Hang in there bud!
@@inconnu4961 Three Cup wins for my Hawks, and Patrick Kane; I'm okay.
The players looked like they quit and gave no f***s earlier in the year when they gave up nine goals at home. There's something really wrong in that locker room and the management needs to figure out which young players to sell high on before it's too late.
As an Avs fan, I feel bad for Bo being stuck in that cluster F.

I'd like to see Bo back!
As a Sabres fan, I feel bad for Bo being stuck in this cluster F.
He got his cup though I think he'll be alright
This Buffalo team needs a coach who’s not afraid to bench/scratch/yell at players for lackluster performances. There’s way too much complacency on that bench.
Skinner/Thompson and cozens just fucking horrible this year seriously insane how Thompson isn’t on the 4th line rn
@@TmanTyler619 You can add Tuch to that list too. All of those guys got paid and decided to take a step back. They need a coach/organizatuon who is going to light a fire under their ass. As far as I’m concerned Donny meatballs, GMKA, Ellis, and Pegula need to be gone ASAP.
Lindy Ruff homecoming
@@30AndHatingIt *HELL,* to the *NO!!!!*
@@TmanTyler619 hey Tage just got a hat trick so theres something there at least.
As a Buffalo fan this is honestly the most disappointing seasons I've ever watched. Last years team, while having glaring errors, seemed like they were on their way to becoming a respectable team in the league. They came out to start the year and looked awful. We're all thinking "it's early, they'll figure it out' and they NEVER did.
A lot of that has to do with our GM Adams not bringing in Vets/leaders and rolling with a bunch of kids. As stated in the video though - Granato has to go...which won't happen because his extension hasn't even kicked in yet. He seems great at developing kids but as a head coach he just doesn't have it. Especially not at the NHL level. He's at a complete loss with what to do, and he has been all season. After that first period I said on Twitter "in any kind of respectable organization this is the kind of game that gets a coach fired." Not in Buffalo, though.
I no joke guessed the final score after the first 3 were scored 10 minutes in. Being a sabres fan at this point is embarrassing.
Granato is a great teacher for young talent...he helped most of the kids on this team to develop into the NHL-level players they are now. But, now they need a coaching staff that can get them to the playoffs (and beyond). Another area that needs work is team strength and conditioning. The Sabres routinely get pushed around. They're too soft. There are a few (unemployed) coaches around who have proven they can get an entire team pulling in the same direction. And yes, those that don't put in the effort should sit...or maybe sent elsewhere. Until ownership decides to be serious about improving the situation, lackluster performances like the one last night will continue.
I’ve been waiting for you to cover the Sabres. As a die hard fan my whole life, when you called it a Timbit Team I laughed out loud. Look on the bright side, we WILL be setting a record this year: having the biggest playoff drought of any major sport in the world (at 13 years). And you can’t take that away from us 😅
Well well well, allow me to take something from you. Observe, Milwaukee Brewers. 1982-2008. 25 year playoff drought. Zero playoff appearances. And that’s only #3 on the list.
@Siksdev the original comment the guy said of any major sport, so that’s why I brought baseball in.
But yeah, totally agree, teams not good and it’s quite amazing how they consistently underwhelm. It’s like the browns for the past couple decades. Apart from a couple good years, I just can’t wrap my head around such consistent mediocrity.
That fourth goal was especially brutal. Jacob Chychrun was WIDE OPEN to where he could have gotten his own rebound if that was saved.
If I did that in my defensive zone for my beer league game next week, the guys would bench me. How do you have a 5-2 man advantage down low and still give that much time and space to the puck carrier?
I started the fire donny chant tonight. I was chanting that shit for like 5 minutes straight...just fn had it
Hahahahahahaha hahahahaha losers 🗑️
So sad to see as a life long Sabre fan....this team has no heart or fight in them
Right there with you.
The Sabres are arguably my favourite American team, I don't understand how a team on paper looks intimidating yet complete clowns on the ice. Their fans deserve better.
Its a depressing arena
It makes you wonder whats up with ownership!
@@inconnu4961 kim choy drulled it all up
a quick reminder - on 2nd April we will celebrate Jeff Skinner's 1000th game without playoffs lmao
The guy after taxes makes roughly around $112,000 per game. I would care less if i missed the playoffs with that kind of salary. But yeah it’s gotta be frustrating. Good ole Sam Reinhart bailed when he could and now he’s reaping the benefits of it.
Don Granaro’s new 3 year contract doesn’t even kick in until next year……so I doubt ownership will fire him
Calgary did it, and Sutter is arguably better than Granato.
@@PeterDixon734 yea but think about who the owner is
@@danevertt3210I can't speak to the BUF owner because I don't follow the team that closely. But I can speak to the CGY owner and can tell you he's one of, if not the cheapest pricks operating in all of hockey.
If Murray Edwards can just throw 8million towards Sutter just to go sit on his tractor, I'm pretty certain the same can happen with Granato. It's obvious the team has just 'given up' on the prick, and I'm pretty sure he's given up on the team.

The Sabres are the regular season version of the Leafs “we will be better next year”.
thing is, its better than the leafs. cause if you keep failing in the regular season then everyone knows some shakeup/change/rebuilding is needed, but with the leafs since they'll make the playoffs everyone just says "we will be better next year" without actually changing much to become better
@@junk3996 Agreed.
@@junk3996Spot on. The leafs are absolutely cooked for the next 10-15 years. They’ll eventually not make the playoffs at all after all their first round chokes and will go back to being the basement team with no future they were in 2010
@@shoresy4084and then they'll will do it all over again mwah hahaha 👹🤣
@@junk3996 That's definitely not better than the Leafs lol. Not a Leafs fan, but it's definitely better to have your team compete for the playoffs than not at all. Sucks to not get a cup after being in the playoffs year after year, like the Rangers, but to watch your team fail to make the playoffs for over a decade is so much worse than making the playoffs for a decade and not winning a cup. Regular season success is still success, no matter how you put it. Sabres haven't even had that
I would have liked to have heard the fans reactions.

Man, this is not right; I respect the players and admire how challenging it is to get through an NHL season, but I love when the team is having fun and is enjoying the game. They can win or loose but in that case it still is fun and the hockey is exciting. When a team looks like this it’s real painful. I hope you guys stay optimistic and it gets better!
I saw a comment that said "Buffalo is the best team in the world when the game they're playing doesn't matter" and I don't think I've ever heard a more perfect summary.
We aren't mad at the team we hate the coach. He changed the system and demolished the offense. Worst thing his 2 year extension starts NEXT YEAR.
I honestly didn’t even see the first four goals tonight-I asked Siri for NHL scores and saw that it was 4-goose egg OTT…THEN actually tuned in! 😆🤦🏼♂️
*Yeesh! At least my Pens have the decency to wait until the third period before crumbling....*
The sabres have been in "rebuild" for over a decade, their last top 20 placement in the NHL was in 2011-12 where they finished 19th. Pens fans need to not complain about their team when they've multiple stanley cups in recent years and at least make the playoffs most years.
well whooptie dooo!
I thought buffalo would be able to clean up decent tonight, but yea when I saw the first goal I was like oh boy here we go🤣

Dude you're spot on this season hurt a lot. So close yet so far away. This was the first season in a while that I had expectations going into the season and then they look flat and slow all season. They haven't won more than 3 games in a row all year. Just abysmal.
What’s crazy is the Sens played well, but not THAT well. They just had so many chances given to them there was no way they wouldn’t capitalized on some of them.
I clicked on the video only because I didn't know what "brutal ass team" meant. 😀 😀
You learn something new every day! 🙂
The problem with Buffalo is that they've been "a young team looking to the future" for the last 20+ years... Forgive me for not being overly optimistic.
And speaking on the crowd... At least they can always guarantee a couple sellouts a season when Toronto comes to town for a bonus home game.
I’m not done with this team. A year of adjustments and setbacks, but I’m fully on board.
That Eichel trade looks even better for Jack after the season the Sabers had. Those pieces just don't add up to what the Golden Knights got and Eichel has a cup and will be contending for one for the foreseeable future. Can't say that about Buffalo. They went the wrong direction this season. Vegas may not be in the playoffs yet but they at least have a chance to get in. Buffalo is out of contention by mid-March yet again. Same story every year.
Bruh the trade was dead even last year with the Sabres having a major culture change and having their best season in 12 years… AND Tuch had better stats than Eichel and they BOTH came back from injuries. They’re having an absolute shit season this year so Vegas pulled ahead in the trade, but again, we don’t know long term how this plays out. Eichel could take one hit to that neck that was repaired and wind up medically retired.
A team is made up of players and coaches. There is no actual difference between any team. A teams history is irrelevant, the New England Patriots should remind us that. Previous years shouldn’t hold any weight on a teams performance in upcoming seasons, and Sabres fans have every right to want their team in the playoffs.
Pretty normal for a young team that had a glimpse of playoff hope and fell short of the race just now.
Arena empty, season done.
That`s how tanking looks like. 3 teams can pull ahead of them rather easy.
They've been tanking for 13 years
Brutal. Horrible tonight.
Love the timbits reference lmao
Took a 7 year break from Sabres hockey the night they traded Miller, came back when Eichel bit the dust finally. They got me excited last year for sure. But it seems all the contract money got to some of these kids heads and they need a severe reality check. Never will stop watching Sabres hockey, but I'm one bad November away from taking another extended break.
I remember I took a long break from Panthers hockey in our playoff droughts
They need a coach who’s not afraid to bench/scratch/yell at them for brutal performances. To much complacency.
Idk if Melody Martin is still keeping up with the Sabres, but if she is, I feel so bad that her team still can't get in gear properly. If she was making videos about this season, she'd probably be close to Dangle levels of frustration.
@Siksdev That wouldn't shock me. At this point, I think the only way they get out of their funk is a new owner and a complete restart.
@Siksdev And with where this roster is, you probably aren't doing anything with them, so best to get assets for them and attempt the rebuild yet again with new people in charge from top to bottom. The key is a new owner, but who knows if the Pegulas will actually sell.
Attendance is like 2020-21 season.

Im a Bruins fan who lives in Hamilton Ontario who has been going out to Buffalo (little more than an hour drive from my house) since the late 80's to watch hockey games. From the old Auditorium, to Marine Midland, to HSBC, to First Niagara, and now Keybank arena.....tickets were always much cheaper and the drive less stressful than going to Toronto. I met a ton of great Sabres fans through the years and even set up a deal with a season ticket holder I got friendly with to get his seats when the Bruins come to town (Some of the best seats in the arena and he only wants peanuts for them). The Sabres werent always like this they used to be a tough team to play who would kick the B's ass on the regular so its really sad to see the state of the team now. Fun Fact....I was at Marine Midland Arena in 1996 the night the scoreboard crashed to the ice to see Sabres/Bruins. The game was cancelled and we got tickets for a makeup game later in the season for which the Bruins got killed and Hasek was a brick wall.
as a Habs fan i must say i was existed before the season for the Sens and Sabres to finally have a good season its crazy to think that even with the line ups they have there aren't far from the Habs
I've been saying this all season. Sabres have no heart and play lazy. I would get rid of about 10 of them right now and replace them some good D3 players to finish out the season.
Being young has nothing to do with it, they know the basics for some reason the whole season was like this game - they watch the puck in their own zone while the opponent gets open - even I know not to do that. They are very feeble at back checking, this team is NOT physical at all. 10 players contracts are up - except for Oloffson 4.5 mil the rest make 2.5 or less. Can Adams afford or is willing to get players with spite and vigor, or is he sticking with the young players with no hit or grit ?
Gotta hand it to Sabres fans though, they stay loyal and still go watch games, as an Oilers fan I feel their pain.
Sabres Management is VERY lucky to have such loyal fans! Some day they might appreciate that!
I'm going to my first NHL game on Friday. I bought the tickets at the beginning of the season, because I thought both teams would be fighting for playoffs. That game is NJD @ BUF.
I just hope this game means that Buffalo shows up on Friday
Don't ever buy early in the season, unless it's for a particular team or a superstar you want to see. I wish someone had told me that years ago.

sabres fan here who was in the front row vs ottawa.. we have a good team we just need a coach to reflect that. he seems too buddy buddy with the players and doesn't hold any accountability for the loss. it's always "onto the next game" come the end of the first period. we really dont get our shit together until late in the game, but there are glimmers of a genuinely good team buried in there. don't count us out, because we will put up a fight in a game that we have no right in making a close one.
It took them until almost April to do so?
It’s been so half ass for so long since Pegulas took over Adams 4th year at GM Donny 3 year extension and I have no excitement for next year. Adam and meatball growing a soft af team.
I don't understand what is happening to thr Sabres. Raising prices, blacking out games in the region, restricting who can come to the game/reselling tickets
Here’s an actual plan. Let granato finish the year because at this point who cares and then instant fire him and hire jay woodcroft. Couple years ago he reinvigorated Edmonton. Had I think the best record in the league in his tenure with the oilers. He’d at least be worth a try

Just saw the Sabers play in Calgary. What stood out to me is how they lack purpose when playing without the puck. They are the most talented beer league team out there.
i agree....they have been the disapointment of the season, especially considering previous season they had some pretty decent looks to their game. question is if u need a few veterans to show the way and aim longterm for a retool if they consider themselves to have a strong enough core or not....
We've had 3 different presidents since the Buffalo Sabres last appeared in the playoffs
The only put forward 50% effort. This year was crazy.
As a Knights/Leafs fan I really hope that the Sabres can find at least some level of success, at least make the playoffs, just make it interesting, if they win, that would be cool too! Just want things to be good for the Sabres ever since Eichel was drafted and even though he isn’t there anymore (he’s now on my favourite team and filled the hole in my heart that was made by trading Fleury away) I still hope Buffalo can do well.

Its not the coach. He doesn't skate on the ice to play
You said it "lazy" they are that personified! They are never ready to play. Where is even the self pride to do well?! Fan of 54 years. Disheartening and sad for the people of Buffalo.
Every single building owned by the Sabres is built on Indian burial grounds, huh?
I literly saw a sports magazine from last year , with the Sabres top 4 players on the cover because there was an article about how they were rhe next powerhouse in the NHL. Predicted to have a dynasty by 2030!! Hahah the editor of that magazine must be regretting that 😂
Well... he still has 5 years to be proven to be correct...
Jeff skinner gunna be at 1000 games played 0 playoff games just saying
Some of those games were with Carolina, so it's not all on Buffalo.
0:14 They've been "a young team putting pieces together" for a really long time. This is my home town team, I've enjoyed the Sabres for as long as the team has existed, but it is way past time for this team to somehow crack the top 50% of the league and return to the first round. My kids are in college now, they've never seen the team in a playoff game because they were little kids the last time the team played in the playoffs. The current edition of the team.....when the chips are down, their backs are against the wall, there's no room for error...they fold like paper. Memo to the Sabres: there's more to a game than the third period. Other stuff happens before that. In fact, it would be nice to see the Sabres trot out there and score the first goal of a game now and then. Either that, or just put 1-0 on the scoreboard before the teams come out. That might be a less irritating way to spot opponents a goal.
Feels bad for the goalie when only the first one is really his fault there :(
The 4th goal was still a softee he would want back
I can't help but feel that there is an alternate universe where the McDavid pick went to Buffalo and the Oilers are in this exact same situation that Buffalo is now, probably still with Taylor Hall on the team as our Captain. I like this universe better.
I know it is water under the bridge one writer had an article on who we might have gotten if we traded Thomas Vanek to the Oilers for 4 first rounders. The players he mentioned were good but would we have drafted them
sens always do this at the end of the year when there's no pressure... drives me nuts, stop winning
this time something looks different , structure and puck posession are vastly improved
Big L windows and doors advertising on the boards. So good
As a Detroit fan, I feel for Buffalo. I to know what it's like to watch your team show flashes of greatness only to regress back to old habits...
this season hurts man
I thought you meant abysmal which is the same thing as dismal. I had to google that.
I’m still tryin’ to wrap my head around how Ottawa can be that shitty on paper-what’s on paper and and what’s on ice product wise is VERY puzzling…especially after what I saw tonight! 😯
It hasn’t been easy to be a Sens fan this year either. You can see a lot of talent on the ice, but they need to work on their team play some more next year, their passing game is still pretty meh.
Most games this year I have been able to find the good, or at least be like "they worked hard but loss" to some degree, but this game was rough I stopped watching after the first and I never do that regardless of how bad they're losing. But this game it was like they tossed away everything they've learned this season. I do like Granato, but this team seems to have given up trying while under him.
Another issue with the Sabres is that nobody else in the league wants to come to Buffalo, that's why we rarely get in on any good trades it's hard to build a team like that, you basically HAVE to rely on prospects.
Like the sens... When you overachieve then people assume you are good and ready for the playoffs.
Every year I feel excited for Buffalo as they have so much talent. Their top 6 looks good and their defense is so talented. It sucks they just don't have it
This sounds like every year. The fans aren't done. They keep coming back expecting something different.
Wait. Who's the potential 1st round draft pick for next season? Is it another "Bedard"? This may all make sense now.
Celebrini, but even if they lose the rest of their games in regulation then won't even be close to getting him
I’ve been a Sabres fan since ‘08 and my patience has finally run out. Since this franchise doesn’t care, why should we? I am two years away from switching teams just to enjoy watching hockey again.
I Googled 'Buffalo weather' when I saw all the empty seats.
Sabres fan here. That's the thing, right? Before this season GM's this year loaded up on what their rivals weren't: tough. The Sabres weren't tough. GM stood pat on the roster. Which, in turn, affected the three headed goalie monster. Which, in turn, affected the coaching strategy. Which, in turn, was affected by injuries.
No GM strategy. Coaches out of their depth. No interchangeable parts in farm system.
Failure explained.
I stayed in Buffalo for a night........ it was kinda like when Leonardo slept in his horse or Luke slept in a Tauntaun.
Yeah at least as a Bills fan we normally only have one day of the year where we feel devastated. Rest of the time its beers and food. Being a Saber's fan is like purgatory.
This is unacceptable! Coach Don has got to go if he can't get his team ready to play. Our first period all year has been the worst in the NHL. No Hustle, Puck Watching SABRES!!! Pathetic how this coach and team has worked together and the lack luster performance has got to go. FIRE DON!!!!!! Been a SABRES fan my whole life and the past Eleven years have been hard to watch. Miss the French connection and we have Disconnection with the fans. LOVELY!!!
We've been a young team looking towards the future for 12 years
I'm convinced there's something going on behind the scenes.
