I to lost both my parents to cancer two months apart just under two years ago. Music like this has a way of soothing our souls, those memories of them will never leave you. RIP to your parents man✌️
Can we just appreciate JPJ for a moment, the other 3 golden gods get much love and I know everyone loves Jones too but he really provided a depth and created textures that made Zeppelin what they are, without him they were just another heavy blues/rock band
9:22 the look of admiration coupled with sadness. Admiration for the gods that are Led Zeppelin, and sadness knowing you (we) will never witness that greatness again.
Thank you for doing this song, no one ever does it and it's such a gem. Gives me goosebumps every time and I must've heard it 100 times now or more. Their music is not just a great sound, it's an experience all of it's own, so many otherworldly creations from four exceptionally talented people. There will never be a band that comes close. There are many great musicians, songwriters and vocalists now and in the past but nothing is quite on the same par as Led Zeppelin.
Your reactions are priceless man. It's been really cool to watch your eyes, ears, mind and heart open up to these songs. It's confirmation that they were the greatest rock band ever ! ❤🎉🙂🙌
List of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs: 1. The Rain Song 2. Stairway To Heaven 3. In My Time Of Dying 4. Achilles Last Stand 5. No Quarter 6. Tea For One 7. Ten Years Gone 8. Thank You 9. When The Levee Breaks 10. In The Light Note that there are so many, many more
The beginning starts out and it continues throughout the intro -- the only time, Jimmy Page bowed an acoustic guitar. This song is incredible - John Paul Jones does an absolute awesome job on the intro. The guitar riff when the song kicks in - it evil sounding and I love it. Bonzo's drums sound incredible and he only used two mics to pick his drums up on the recording. The mics were above him by about 10 feet. Robert's singing is majestic, killer and unbelievable ! I love this song much. "...eh, ee, yeah baby, I know how it feels, bc I have slipped through to the very depths of my soul..." "Well, love's pain can devour you, if you are never alone..."
Pope, I remember ditching school the day that this was released in 1975 with my buddy, I think we were in 11th grade, so we could buy this LP when our local record store opened that morning. Straight back to his house (no parents) fired up that bong and turned this shit up! Really miss those days. Glad you're helping keep this music alive 🌞
Wow. Chris I’m having flashbacks as my friends and I did same thing went back to my house flopped our asses in bean bag chairs, rolled a few uh uh or so and could not stop playing it over & over. Damn we had the best music of the 70’s & I miss it now I’m teaching my grandkids to appreciate it!!!!

The beginning of this song has always reminded me of a call to prayer in the center of a city in some otherworldly time and place, then with rhythmic almost hypnotic swirling riffs, you continue your meditation before transcending triumphantly into "the Light". It is sensuous, almost secretive and spine-tingling in a good way. Jimmy used a bow with his acoustic guitar to get the droning sound in the beginning. He also likened Robert's singing in this to Bulgarian chorale music. I think a lot of other reactors do the most requested songs then figure they're good with that. It's true, it does take time and commitment to do a proper, deep dive as you have, and I commend you for it. Keep introducing the good music you've been discovering to the people you know and the rest will take care of itself.
So teacher my 2nd fave Zep song is IMTOD and recently I read that no other time did Robert respect, appreciate, & was just in total awe of Jimmy’s expertise of his craft than on that song. Especially love 2 nd night Knebworth. Have you heard that interview before?
@@Kashmir.820 I haven't heard Robert describe Jimmy's playing on that song like that before but maybe he did. To my knowledge, they didn't play IMTOD at Knebworth, in fact, after Robert's car accident, it was taken out of the set list. From what I've read, Robert didn't like performing it, maybe because it hit pretty close to home.
I could not imagine a world without Zeppelin/Floyd/Rush/Tull. This is a underrated but fantastic song. Derr, it's Zeppelin. I appreciate the way you partake in the Classic Rock Songs I've watched. This is MUSIC to close your eyes and conduct to! You get it man! So many don't. Dang surface listeners, lol. Loved your Rush 2112 reaction. Peace
Rush? Really with these guys? Geddy Lee? GEDDY LEE? Not one ounce of soul, blues, or hard rock has EVER passes his lips. Cartoon rock singer sounds about 12. Not. A. Chance. Pathetic. Should sing Danny Boy, at the wrong speed to hit his stride.
Always a great reaction brother I love the younger generations love and led Zeppelin that's my only group number one group I think they're prodigies God meant them to be together they steamrolled in the history with all good music talent
This is one of my favorite Zeppelin songs, and yeah, i've only seen a couple reactions to it. This whole album is a masterpiece, it's their White Album.
Loved your reaction man! I grew up with this music... so lucky. I flashed back to my first time listening to this song... age 13 or so, stealing a moment on my sisters stereo, having those same feelings I saw move across your face... hypnotic. Such a positive song too yet acknowledging we have hard times or even death. But just follow the light... "did you ever think that I could leave you, out in the cold..." sounds like meeting my maker on the other side like I've heard from near death experiences. Anyway, I hope you enjoy more music like this!
Another underrepresented Zeppelin song I've been trying to get some of my favorite reactors to react to: Nobody's Fault but Mine." Epic song, killer harmonica solo (and guitar solo). Also, from the Physical Graffiti album (from whence "In the Light" came: "In My Time of Dying." Great song to truly appreciate John Bonham on drums.
So great to see a young man like yourself discovering this music! You're right, each song is literally a masterpiece! So well crafted, so incredibly well arranged and thought out. Back in the day this song WAS on the radio a lot but sadly nowadays you do have to go looking for it, but it's still there!! Great channel man!
This whole side of this album is great. I love how this finishes! Powerfully. I saw them back in the day when they were truly kicking it. About 1977. Stairway to Heaven was theme of our prom in 1975.
As you continue your LZ journey just wanted to let you know that they have 2 sets of songs on albums that need to be heard together. There's "Heartbreaker" that goes with "Living Loving Maid". There's also "Friends" that goes with "Celebration Day". There's no better way to play them than together.
Love your reactions man!! Up next, Ten Years Gone (1990 Remaster). Ten Years Gone is a masterpiece, even to their standards as a band. Thanks for making these videos.
This is What Reaching into the Depths of Utter Darkness, Despair Sounds Like, When You're trying to Pull someone out!! Especially when it's Someone You care for! POWERFUL Lyrics!! When he says, " When Love is Pain it can DEVOUR You"!! You can feel that!!

Isn't this tune just phenomenal? Glad you got to it. Right up there with Kashmir & No Quarter on my Led Zep favorites list. I love it when they get into relaxed grooves.
‘Triple headers’ rock!😁 Down By The Seaside would fit well next. Keep Gallows Pole & Misty Mountain Hop on the list too, after Dazed and Confused live of course!

Love your appreciation for Led Zeppelin POPENYCO 👍 I have a recommendation (if you read these comments) - "Traveling Riverside Blues" by Led Zeppelin. If memory serves I don't think it's on an album (?) But you should be able to find it. It's excellent 👍

JPJ, the greatest bassist ever. One of the most underrated musicians ever, at least by non-musicians. Also, don’t forget his work in Them Crooked Vultures with Josh Homme and Dave Grohl. Paul McCartney wanted to play bass and Grohl told him I’m sorry Paul, we already have the greatest bassist ever. Jonesy!
THIS song literally saved me after I lost both my parents.
sorry to hear that , glad you found peace🙏🏿 music is powerful in these ways

I lost mom and dad in 1986 They passed 6 months apart. Mom liked stairway to heaven. Song reminds me of her.
✌️
To ericwatson, I totally agree. Even though it was Pages baby, JPJ was the secret MVP of this band. Bass, mandolin, clavinet, synths, keys.
POPE, as you know...music is the tie that binds us all together...Love is the answer..
Songs like this speak to your soul. The very core of your being is lifted by music like this.

IKR! Substitute any one of those four, no matter what, would have landed them right back down here on earth with every other band
