I have to say, Gordon is a MASSIVE part of my love of cooking. I really used to dislike cooking, and thought it was so tedious, avoiding it whenever possible. I learned to love it through Gordon’s vivacious personality, and the way he makes things look simple and doable. My dad calls me Ramsey sometimes when I make dinner because he knows where my inspiration comes from, and my whole family enjoys my cooking. I owe this man a lot. He’s so much more than a “celebrity” chef. Though I have no interest in turning cooking into a career, I cook with love and passion everyday. And he’s a big part of why I do that….

same here! i left home and had never really cooked or been taught and needed to learn. i turned to gordon and would binge watch all his shows. id get so excited and write down ingredients and go to the supermarket to cook meals at home. He taught me all the basics of cooking and more. i learnt to cook from scratch, to season properly and never microwave unless i have to haha. As my dad passed in 2018 i have loved watching him teach and be the great father figure he is to his kids and watching him with tilly and seeing tilly grow. Hes been a big part of me wanting to learn more and finally feeling confident and excited to cook. hes definitely more than a celebrity chef great to see how many peoples lives hes truly changed.

A professional cook can cook professionally - who would have thought! Also keep in mind that everything he used was prepared already, which often takes much more time than the actual cooking part. Heating up that grilling plate alone takes 10 min. So those "X in 10 minutes"-titles are pure clickbait.
That aside, I'm more impressed about how simple the meals actually are. No need for all kinds of fancy things - toss some basic ingredients together and you have a tasty meal. The "salad" didn't look very promising, but with cheese and croutons that might be yummy.

He burnt the back of the chicken. He flips the chicken to back side up at 5:56 but they immediately switch to another camera to conceal the charred back. Also when he lifts the pan at 6:38, the chicken is found lying back side down. This means he flipped the chicken to back side down (after it had been flipped to back side up at the former timestamp) off camera. This also brings into question the sanctity of their "10 minute" challenge. They clearly manipulate the time elapsed by cutting filming.

I'd like to point out though a little habit that I've seen a few chefs doing, which is using a single tea towel throughout the cook, being used both during the preparation of raw meats and fish as well as during the cooking part. In this particular video, we can see that the board where the raw chicken was sitting during prep gets quickly wiped with the tea towel and then this same tea towel is used in the other wooden board, pans, etc. On the other hand, he correctly washes hands twice after manipulating the chicken.

Ok I actually tried the recipe. The first thing I noticed is the chicken he is using has to be the smallest chicken I've ever seen. Around here a chicken that small would be a "Cornish hen". The second thing is it looks like it is not only spatchcocked but the ribcage and breastplate has been removed. Anything without a bone would cook much faster so this worried me as the legs and thighs that still have the bone are harder to overcook and dry out. So I bought the smallest chicken I could find(3lbs) and cut it just like his. Made the dry marinade and gave it a couple hours in the fridge. Removed from fridge and let it come up to room temp. I set up my cast iron grill and set the temp to in between med-high and medium. Used a pan to cover the chicken and steam it with water like he showed. It took mine more like 30+ minutes to get to 165f. The dry spices do mostly just turn black but not everywhere really. It made a huge mess all over the stove and honestly not even worth it. I think a better way would be just a plain cast iron skillet. Sear it on the stove then finish it off in the oven. If you really want to make 10 minute chicken your best bet is probably boneless skinless chicken breast.

This is what's going on in every kitchen in every restaurant (albeit not so well nor gracefully, in many), by chefs doing so for 30 different orders at once. What grace under pressure and joy to share. Thank you Chef Ramsey. The incremental steps of how to lay out something like this in such little time is fantastic. And gives such insight into the process for what top chefs must go through to achieve their masterpieces in such short order. Bravo.

I know who Gordon is, I know he´s been many shows and so on, I know he is world class.....but I refuse to beleive he just did a whole meal in under 10 mins , espcially this week that I have trying to wake up early cook something for lunch to take to work, but then again he did just cook meal in under 10 mins! Besides the obvious experience and know how, its the mise en place, its all the prep work so that the actual cooking takes those 10 mins.

@6:01 Literally the only way to watch this video is to imagine that Marco was stood off camera effin' and blindin' at every "literally" from GR and then mocking him for the faux-schumtz around the tile-grout that seeks to emulate a back-street kebab house in Barnsley.
No disrespect to Barnsley kebab fans, maximum disrespect for fans of trois-etoiles.

    Really love your recipes
I am inspired to become a chef
    I am 19 years old
The problem is that I am a Muslim and in hotel management courses
I will have to deal with alcohol and maybe not halal foods .

Wash and dry and tear the lettuces (5 minutes), roast a beet, cool, skin, and slice (40 minutes), unpack, trim, and spatchcock the chicken, (10 minutes for me, I'm terrible at it), get out all of the seasonings and measure the liquids (5 minutes), heat up the griddle (5 minutes). When all that's done, I, too, can cook, blend, and squeeze in no time!

Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster - especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part - the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part - if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.
