I am a bigtime fan of RIA pistols. I have 2 in 9mm, a 45acp, and a 10mm. Cant say anything bad about their products. I love the heft, and feel of an all metal pistol.
Shot my new Rock Island standard full-size (51431) the other day. Its not a tactical or competition model but it is a fun, fun gun. Put a fist sized hole through the face of a target at 15 yards which is great for my old eyeballs. Only change I made to the thing was to add a drop of florescent orange Testors paint to the front sight blade.
Thanks for this review. I've been mulling over which manufacturer I should get my first 1911 from here in the Philippines, and you've convinced me to get that awesome thing. Looking forward to feeling that same excitement you've shown when I get my first shots off in the near future!
-- 5 months late to the party but thumbs up. I like your energy, and I'm STRONGLY considering picking one of these up for my daughter. She's 7, just passed her pistol course at academy. It's big for her, and she has several firearms of her own (course they're under my lock and key) but despite the size, I just thing it's a sin not to have a .45 in the personal inventory.
Get the Pro Match Ultra FS. Its fullsized 1911, adjustable LPA rear sight, front orange fiber optic, ambidextrous thumb safety, skeletonized hammer, beavertail grip safety, with fine vertical rear of the slide serration only, and made by the Medallion shop of Armscor. That is what I bought back in 2021 and still have it. Its a keeper. The fitting is much better than my Springfield, equal to my Kimber, and my friend's Dan Wesson PM7. I kid you not. The trigger pull out of the box is clean and creep free.
Howdy, I have a question about your extended magazine release. I'm presuming it is a Wilson Combat?, did you have to fit/hone the material down to fit within the existing magazine release housing ?
Thanks Ronbo my wife is from the Philippines and just as reliable as the RI 1911 😂!
Very nice.
😂
-- Ha! Made my day. My wife too. She's Italian. Tried to kill me with a kitchen knife three times. As a result, we have three kids :D
Thanks Sir!!! 😆😆😆😅 I'm from Philippines.
I bet she's hot to huh

Love mine and like the manual says" 500 rounds of FMJ round nose break-in" this applies to their magazines as well.

Might pick up a RIA as an entry 1911, but I dont need rails so I guess I will have to find similar plain version.

You got it man. After all, 1911 was concepted out of the American problem with the Philippine warriors.
Damn that’s fun to watch.

Got one not so cheap but good gun also have fs hc to
Rondo, how did you get the right side safety off the gun. Mine has a stud like deal on the right side ?
Bending the sear spring will get your trigger pull down.
Which mag holster is that for the 1911 magazines?
I have the same pistol but in 10MM
Are the grips polymer or rubber?
Cheap ones for $499
Don't like wilson combat mags..I allways stick with the brand they came with...so I order mine from the company that made the gun.usally metgar.
Maybe a tripod?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes Sir.
