About me:
My name is Anthony Chisnall. I'm a musician & songwriter.
My channel is these things:
1. A place to share my music - both songs and instrumental pieces. Much of the music I write features in...
2. Tutorial videos about music composition and production
3. An outlet for me to discuss all things musical - including technical break-downs of software and tools that I use, as well as more wide-ranging discussions of topics that interest me.
I play the guitar (electric, acoustic, and bass), and record all of my own synth-based sounds myself too, but I can't sing very well (huge understatement!), and so my wife, Pauline, who has a lovely singing voice, has come to my rescue. You'll hear her on all of my songs.
All of my music is written in Steinberg's Cubase (currently Cubase 12).
I try very hard to make my videos PRACTICAL and no-nonsense - if I don't use a feature, I'm not going to waste your time trying to sound like an expert on it! This is the stuff I use day-to-day, so I think that's also what you'd like to hear me talking about.

Bravo! Finally this video explains what is Sampler control and how it is associated with main window. I spent hours watching videos about the features of each tab and none of them was able to explain "WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP" and HOW IT IS ASSOCIATED to the main window. Thank you very much. Great video
That's great to hear, thanks for the feedback!
great video! I didn't know how easy was to export the settings into other vst's in cubase. Seems like a great feature for building your own libraries quickly
You're very welcome!
Great video… very useful and instructive. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
can´t live without SamplerTrack. It´s a real weapon for sounddesign, fast to use too.
great video as ever, thank you!
Much appreciated, thank you!
Excellent overview. You are a natural teacher!
That's very kind of you to say, thanks!
Wow! Thanks for this. As ever I was aware that the sampler track was there but until i watched this i didnt really know what you could actually achieve with it! You're saving me from having to spend days, weeks (or possibly even fortnights) reading the Cubase manual to work out what's in there. I shall now experiment with the sampler track with vim, vigour and most importantly verve. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
That's great to hear! Thanks for all your kind support, it's really appreciated :)
Thank you for your generosity dear brother
My pleasure, thanks for the kind feedback
I forgot if I've commented before saying this but your videos are incredibly helpful and insightful- thank you

You're welcome! And, well done you ;)
Great VDO, Thanks you :)))
You're welcome :)
Hello. Congratulations on this impressive mastery video.
I managed to do a lot of things with the midi remote but I can't assign the Sampler Control buttons.
I've been working on Cubase for quite a while and this sampling function is a completely new discovery for me. So I try to make the most of it.
Example of my problem: I want to change the playback speed parameter to slow down or speed up the sample, impossible to get the potentiometer on my master keyboard to respond (everything else works). However, in the midi remote, everything is ok and at the bottom right, you can clearly see that Cubase reacts to the potentiometer. I must surely omit a small but crucial detail because it seems absurd to me that this very essential function is not taken into account.
If you have the solution, I'm interested 😊Thank you in advance.
I'm not sure why it's not working, but a simple fix is to assign it to a Track Quick Control and do it from there. Just activate "Learn" mode in your Track QC control panel in the Inspector, then move the Speed dial in the Sampler Control interface with your mouse. Turn off Learn mode, and use the Track QC from this point onwards. Hope that helps :)
@@OneManAndHisSongs Hello.
Thanks for your quick response.
I had completely forgotten to put my keyboard back in midi input and output of the instantaneous track controller.
super
Thank you :)
I have a question. I know you've already written that you've been learning Cubase for years. But would you consider switching to another DAW in the future?
How I would love to watch bitwig tutorials with your knowledge in mind! Of course, I understand 100% why you want to stay with Cubase.
Sadly I have to say that the odds are very low of me taking up another DAW. The learning curve is so steep that I can't imagine going through all that effort.
@@OneManAndHisSongs I understand 100%. Take care! btw. do you know the VST Hyperion plugin?
Hey ive noticed it displays orange on sampler track to show the note thats playing. Is there anyway to lighten this orange setting or turn it off i cant see the sample in order to edit it its so dark orange im tryna create slices manually.I see you have the same thing?
I've not tinkered with the colour settings on the sampler control personally, so I'm afraid I don't know. I can't find anything in the preferences either, so suspect you're hostage to your system colours.
The gui is not the best. It needs to be redesigned.
Cubase is a very mechanical, non-intuitive DAW
