Great for those who can no longer be on 2 wheels. Also, great for anyone who enjoys riding them. If you do what makes you happy regardless of “popular” opinion, your my kind of person. I’ll still wave as I go by on 2.
Can someone explain the stalking from behind footage to me? Is it to imitate people with pitchforks coming for him, is it to imitate big foot (aka sasquatch) since big foot MIGHT have more leg room just because of having a bigger chasis for legs, is it just to add onto the weird 80s horror movie (involving rape.. or somebody sucking a females neck mind you?) I generally like FortNine's ~~reviews~~ ads because of the production value and I want to get into motorcycles and found his channel as reccomended to me and watched the best begineer gear, than got hooked to the tested series, then was curious to see if he tested motorcycles just to find these wonderful movie-ads, and I like them.. but.. this one just is odd to me.
This must have been before they bought a drone - it feels like a transitional video from the early guy-on-a-bike productions to the later cinematic look.
I bought one after sliding off my bike in Spain (not my fault). It takes some getting used to but it is a great machine. It is hard work when driving in the Dolomites, but for long distance cruising at higher speeds on Autobahns it is great... comfortable at 140 to 150 kmh. Love it.
@@monkeydust100 Yes, I still have it. So far reliability is fine. Recall action for a final drive problem but a temporary repair (good for 13000km), still waiting for final solution. Would I recommend it? Yes.
RF9, you're a fuqen G my dude. Thank you everyone in production for such high quality content. It is literally top tier on YT. You all are setting the bar where it should be. Keep on being the best in the business.
Try an F3-T in '17 with auto and floor boards and take it on a long haul. The floor boards I didn't expect to like at all and they make sense on these (I'm 6'5" with a 37" inseam so I had them fit it out for me for the test run), it gives a better plank to push against when counter-weighting the turns snowmobile style and lets you shuffle your feet around as well. I had the inside wheel lifting when pushing hard on highway on/off ramps. Pretty fun. I think these make the most sense as a long haul cruiser because they take a lot of the fatigue out of the ride. A long run may make more sense of the utility in it.
Thinking the same thing...! The attention to each and every little detail is impressive, to say the least...! It's HOLLYWOOD quality...! Absolutely love the scene at 7:57...!
Oh shit I forgot they have store. Seems odd though, with Ryan fortnight honesty, you'd really wonder how they get sponsors / merchandise to sell. But I guess if I'm a consumer, I'd buy what Fortnine is selling since they really criticize those stuff.
The point you make about steering is super accurate. During my early teens I always rode dirt bikes. I hadn't ridden a fourwheeler at all yet, and the first time I hopped on one, I went to turn and I started to go the opposite direction. It was weird. Counter steer makes things totally different.
Once again, another brilliantly shot and edited review containing heaps of information and plenty of giggles along the way. You are simply talented at what you do. Nice work. You're going places, fast.
funny how every mototcycle rider i ever knew hated trikes as long as they were healthy & able to ride ,as soon as you cant ride a 2 wheeler anymore trikes start looking alot better & as far as im concerned the can am is damn sexy for a trike ,if we live thru the coronavirus crap ,might get one ,yes people its never gonna be like a 2 wheel motorcycle ,the fact it has 3 wheels dictates that ,would still love one ,would do about anything to get back in the wind .
The way this video ends is absolutely fantastically gorgeous! My neck got shivers all over the place when the camera moved into the beast even though I knew nothing would happen... But id did!!!
Evolution on the 3 wheel variant is cool. They look like good fun with HP and TQ numbers increasing. Maybe the future will have a dual sport versions. I have a lifetime on two wheels and for anybody that does not respect another open air vehicle is clueless. Being a motorcross rider and seeing the first UTVs offroad some riders smugged them. Now half of those riders now also have Rhinos or other UTVs to go along with there bikes. If its fun ride it!!!
Good post. The other day, I was on my F3-S and three riders on UK plates - trail bikes - snubbed me as I went past. But I have also done 260,000 miles on conventional motorcycles, and if I want to also ride a trike, I will..
I love the concept of the Spyder, but I'm not yet ready to plunk down money on one for a few specific reasons: 1) Wiring Harnesses - BRP insists on using wire gauge a size smaller than Japanese bikes. They've had far too many recalls for harness issues. 2) Overall Reliability - BRP products consistently rate among the lowest in long-term reliability in studies like JD Power. 3) Maintenance Accessibility - Ever try to do basic maintenance on a Spyder? Set aside a weekend... you'll need it. BRP buries EVERYTHING you need access to. 4) Customer Support - I can't stress this one enough. I came across a man stranded on the side of the Interstate with a dead Spyder. Completely lifeless except for the dash. I watched him struggle with BRP Roadside Service for AN HOUR, only to be told at the end that his warranty was 6 months expired, so they couldn't help him with warranty coverage. They arranged for a wrecker to pick him up and take him to the nearest dealer... 60 miles away... for 600 DOLLARS! I told him to hang up, and I got him a wrecker that was only 15 minutes away. Same trip... $120. Less than a *quarter* of the price. If the Japanese made a Spyder, I'd buy it. But as long as BRP retains their current level of QC and customer support, I'll pass.
Excellent review. Well thought out and of high quality (and amusing). I was thinking about just going out and buying a Spyder but this video made me think "I've got to test ride a couple of models first to see if I want to transition from 2 to 3 wheels right now." Everything you said about cornering, handling on three tracks, the "nanny" all made perfect sense. So, thank you.
Yes, I own this bike. If it took you 5 seconds to get from 0 to 60mph, you are doing it wrong. I have the semi auto and I can go it stock in less than 4. closer to 3.5 It is a beast that loves you. I've taken it on road trips for hundreds of miles and it is more comfortable then any Harley. I am about to pay this one off and I think I will get a 2021.
I test rode one of these a few years ago at the Galveston bike rally and it was a really nice ride. Very comfortable and plenty of power and as he said really good brakes!
Whoa...did i see and hear "clutch"? Im looking at getting a 2024, but no clutch. Ive been thinking BRP should release a fully manual version for us 2 wheel riders who like to control shift points and are familiar with manual transmissions. Guess im many years too late...😢
Thanks for reviewing this. I’m a perfectly healthy male who’s just getting into open air cruising. I just got my 2 and 3 wheel endorsement (required here in the US). I’m in the market for that very model. I love the orange pipe work. I’m also looking for a 2 wheel bike as well. I want the ability to ride whatever I want but have chosen the F3 as my daily driver. Just because I like it.
F9 is the best reviewer I've seen yet. The only thing that even ties is old Top Gear as far as production quality and entertainment. And I'm not just talking in the form of vehicle reviews. I mean car, motorcycles, phones, pencils, computers, anything. These are just incredible.
Yet another fantastic F9 video. Love the production values of these. As to the Can-Am, I have also test driven one of these 3-wheelers. Definitely not for me. For the price point, you're better off buying a Miata. Some might enjoy this, it is pretty well built, but I just can't see this replacing the joy I get from being on two wheels.
You can definitely trail brake the curves and twisties, I do it every day through the curves, turns, and twisties in Northern Colorado. It takes time to build skills on these but so much worth the while. I bought mine because that's all my female was willing to ride on. Once I was dialed in I'm glad it worked out that way.
Good video. Nice shots with smooth movements. This is what most vblogs are missing. You would think some motovblogers just like to hear themselves talk and do wheelies. Really a pleasure to watch. Thanks.
i only ride motorcycles, but i can see how this thing can get a person outside into the fresh air. you don't have to balance at stop lights. it can't get knocked over while parked. it is very difficult to steal by lifting and throwing into a trailer. and although it can't lean in corners it is still fun to take corners on, just like many sport cars. and the power to weight ratio makes it a fun ride
Love your reviews! I have spinal injuries so I have to look at a 3 wheel which in some ways breaks my heart! I was truly hoping if you could please do a review on the latest f3 and see if anything has changed that you like better or you dislike?! Thanks again for your amazing videos and honest opinions
Nice video details of the trike been looking for videos that explain details better vs just filming while riding. Also nice video production overall. I think I am going to pick up a F3 -S toward the end of the year.
Excellent job on doing reviews. Quite fond of the channel. This is the first time im sending a comment on a channel and hoping it works out the way i expect. I always wanted to be an adventure rider like you and i finally got a chance to do it. I need your expertise to make this dream come true. Long story short, I have two options when it comes to new bike 1. Kawasaki Versys 650 ABS, 2. Honda CB500X. Now the problem is which to choose. If you can have a review on both of the bikes and let us know then that will be great. Thanks
Hello! Glad you're enjoying the reviews. I'd love to do a video on those bikes, but it usually takes a while to sort out the logistics. Long story short: I'd take the CB500X if you're interested in off-roading. ~RyanF9
Well done review...a friend moved last year and I was elected to follow him in the moving van on his CanAm...200 mile ride...very interesting experience...as stated you will find potholes(or roadkill)...kept grabbing for front brake...really don't like foot brake only...as you stated give it a hand brake....would I buy one...if I can no longer get a leg over my R12R I might consider it.
Thank you so much for the reply. Im happy that you gave your valuable time to read my comment and reply me back (I really really appreciate it). Hoping to see your reviews on these bikes and more as well (Though i agree on buying the CB500X).
Awesome video review my friend. You give a lot of information to think about if considering a three wheel. Keep up the good work and I love the horror theme. I am old enough to remember getting scared as a kid watching those movies!
On a bike you can lean into a turn on this it does not lean so it feels like your getting thrown off. Which would mean you would have to ride it like you would any quad right? ; )
I rode one when they first came out a few years ago. Had the same reaction to the lack of a front brake lever. Not sure if I'd get used to stomping the lever. OTOH, there are aftermarket solutions that add the missing control.
F9 u guys amaze me w these out of the box ways u do your vids. Real quality stuff. U could do a review of a pogo stick & i bet i would still enjoy the hell out of it!
Hey Fortnine. Unusually, I have not watched the video yet and will comment before. That's how confident I am. These are the worst contraptions ever put on three wheels. Yes I drove, or should I say steered one like the helm of a boat. What a piece of trash. Now I am going to watch your video. PS. I like your work, thanks
Great video even though I'm just seeing in 2021. A few things have changed with the Spyder since then, but this was a very good enlightenment video on the F3-S. Beautiful machine...
Oh ! This was an AWESOME review, the best I've seen. You have every right to be a proud Canadian of this machine, so too, I would be proud of the Diamond aircraft you Canuck's produce! Thanks so much for this one.
I think the handbrake on the handlebars is a problem because if you have to brake when turning sharp your arm is fully extended, so you have less control, unlike a two wheeler where you are leaning and the hand controls are closer. I do agree that impaired riders should have more choices though from BRP, I just sold my RSS to an amputee and he did not have a lower left leg which worked for him as the brake is defaulted for right leg operation.
It really grinds my gears that they didn't give us a handbrake, or at least give us the option. The same for the foot board instead of a peg. Just makes more sense on a thing like this, and would make it much more accessible. Could you guys also review their new Ryker?
hi, very nice video, keep up the nice work. let me say there is nothing like the feel of a 2 wheels motorcycle. but with the increasingly unsafe roads today, the F3S is safer for non skilled riders who like to enjoy the open road. i guess the can-am provide that braking and line changing capability ( for the non skilled ) more than non skilled persons riding a motorcycle. P.S. i crashed on an XJR400 because of a woman making a U-turn suddenly and i were still not experienced enough to do what it takes to avoid it.
I'm sure somebody has turned the aids off, it may not be as easy as pushing a button but I don't see it being impossible, that's really my only critique I have good review, instead of buying a can am I've been building a reverse trike like it using a cb750 and a vw front end, I hope I don't feel as many bumps as you did but I don't know that the front end would be that rigid it did roll right over a curb without skipping a beat or noticing but I think your review gave me a little bit of an idea of what to expect when I get it done
They make 'em! You can get the F3 Limited and the F3-T... both of which are essentially touring versions of this bike. Now to convince the girlfriend... ~RyanF9
Absolutely excellent review. Great production quality as always, but I couldn't help but think you released this video a month too early. :) Would have been great for a Halloween themed video. Great work as always! Keep em' coming!
Haha you're right! I wanted to do this review closer to Halloween, but unfortunately scheduling press bikes is a "take what you can get" kind of thing. ~RyanF9
Great Review. I agree with the floor boards and front brake lever. The Super Tenere engages all discs with the right front lever. I'm not sure I would ever want to give up toe shifting, but understand these bikes come with optional paddle shift. Maybe when I hit 70, they will add that stuff by then.
Awesome video. I'm thinking getting a Harley davidson tri glider snd this one. You have answered all of my questions. Can you do a video on Harley davidson tri?
Getting another Kawasaki in the spring. I suspect it will be the last. As I progress into my 70's probably going to need something that does not want to tip over when I stop. Met a man with one and he loved it. While we were talking his wife came out and said she really enjoyed being on the back.
The Campagna Trex is also a Canadian trike. Tho as a product its not as well executed as the Spyder, I think its a much cooler concept of a trike. I have not try either, but if I was offered a chance on one I would go for the Trex. Great video by the way
A bike license can cost you up to 2500 usd in sweden. If you're a fast learner and has a good teacher you can get away with 1800-2000 usd and three months of spare time... The bare minimum is around 800 without driving lessons and the books and stuff you need. Driving permit: 25$ Tutors permit: 20$ (As a learner you can't go out riding whitout a tutor. Wich could be anyone who's had bike license for at least five years) Risk edu and management part 1: 85$ Risk edu and management part 2: 340$ Knowledge test: 40$ Final driving test: 185$ Driving license printing and digital photo: 85$ Eye exam:11$ Can drive the Can am on my car license, so why not. A good alternative i think.
Great video as always! But not really with you when saying it’s not a good start for motorcycling... it is. I’m a great example, as I started with the Spyder back in 2012 for 2 summers, then moved on to a 800GS and now with a 1200GS. Simply, if I hadn’t done the move, I wouldn't had done the move to motorcycles... And yes it does prepare you for bikes, as it shows you "your place on the road", the gear, helmet and so on. Compared to others in my beginner course which had no experience at all, my learning curve was much shorter, as I was used to being outside in the naked of things, acceleration and so on. The tilting, braking and so on was really easy to pickup. cheers.
Great for those who can no longer be on 2 wheels. Also, great for anyone who enjoys riding them. If you do what makes you happy regardless of “popular” opinion, your my kind of person. I’ll still wave as I go by on 2.
love the "creepy, stalking from behind" footage. completely unnecessary, but perfect for the theme
Can someone explain the stalking from behind footage to me?
Is it to imitate people with pitchforks coming for him, is it to imitate big foot (aka sasquatch) since big foot MIGHT have more leg room just because of having a bigger chasis for legs, is it just to add onto the weird 80s horror movie (involving rape.. or somebody sucking a females neck mind you?)

The creepy footage is thrown in there because of the monster theme; as in Can-Am created a monster or a Frankenstein's monster of a vehicle.
That bit gave me the heebie-jeebies!
instablaster...
Epic camera work
Indeed, Top Gear-like quality production. This guy deserves it.

I bought one after sliding off my bike in Spain (not my fault). It takes some getting used to but it is a great machine. It is hard work when driving in the Dolomites, but for long distance cruising at higher speeds on Autobahns it is great... comfortable at 140 to 150 kmh. Love it.
Hey, do you still have it? What's the reliability like?
@@monkeydust100 Yes, I still have it. So far reliability is fine. Recall action for a final drive problem but a temporary repair (good for 13000km), still waiting for final solution. Would I recommend it? Yes.

Pretty fun. I think these make the most sense as a long haul cruiser because they take a lot of the fatigue out of the ride. why is the production quality of all your videos so high ?
like seriously...this is great stuff
"FortNine" is a very big powersport superstore in Canada. So I assume they have some money to blow. :p

That's how confident I am. These are the worst contraptions ever put on three wheels.
Yes I drove, or should I say steered one like the helm of a boat. What a piece of trash.
Now I am going to watch your video.
PS. I like your work, thanks
hummmm maybe it is not the machine that has a problem it is great in twisties. Hell of a machine
Not into the product but man, you are taking review videos to whole new level!
Wow man, that was amazing. This is old Top Gear quality. Keep up with the great work :)
0 to 60 in 5 secs, 115 hp, 130 mN of torque...these sound good for a car!
hi, very nice video, keep up the nice work.
let me say there is nothing like the feel of a 2 wheels motorcycle.
but with the increasingly unsafe roads today, the F3S is safer for non skilled riders who like to enjoy the open road. i guess the can-am provide that braking and line changing capability ( for the non skilled ) more than non skilled persons riding a motorcycle.
P.S. i crashed on an XJR400 because of a woman making a U-turn suddenly and i were still not experienced enough to do what it takes to avoid it.
Great review. Do you think that you will review the newly designed 2020 or 2021 Spyder RT-Limited?
Best motorcycle channel on RUclips.
Really enjoying your reviews.
I liked the auto start at the end.
i would love a touring version of this with plenty of pillion space. i would defo buy one for adventures with my gf
They make 'em! You can get the F3 Limited and the F3-T... both of which are essentially touring versions of this bike. Now to convince the girlfriend... ~RyanF9
FortNine that will be the hard part ha
Absolutely excellent review. Great production quality as always, but I couldn't help but think you released this video a month too early. :) Would have been great for a Halloween themed video. Great work as always! Keep em' coming!
Haha you're right! I wanted to do this review closer to Halloween, but unfortunately scheduling press bikes is a "take what you can get" kind of thing. ~RyanF9
awesome review dude. I love the horror movie bits. great job.
The ending was great! Subbed, thanks for your videos!
You must have spent a lot of time on editing, and it shows. Nice job!
For those who used to watch old top gear, this was the thing that James May wanted to exchange with his Cadillac during the American roadtrip
Great Review. I agree with the floor boards and front brake lever. The Super Tenere engages all discs with the right front lever. I'm not sure I would ever want to give up toe shifting, but understand these bikes come with optional paddle shift. Maybe when I hit 70, they will add that stuff by then.
Factory & 3rd party floorboards already available. Hand brake can be added. Lots of disabled Spyder riders with them.
good innovation of filming everytime...ryan u have impressed me a lot ..cheers
I am looking at a newer 2020. Can you tell me if they changed much in 5 years? Love your videos.
Smart, funny, cocky, with something to say, I like this guy's videos, he actually Knows videography And bikes. Keep the good stuff coming!
Haha the ending is just amazing. Love it
These videos are the best thing ever to watch while drunk :))))
Awesome video. I'm thinking getting a Harley davidson tri glider snd this one. You have answered all of my questions. Can you do a video on Harley davidson tri?
I wish they'd make an off road version with lifted suspension and knobby tires.
try the ryker rallye version
If I were to buy a trike (i.e. NEVER), it would be Nikken. I liked your review of it a few years ago.
thanks for the review on the spyder, cant wait to see you ryker review!
Great video by the way
I’ve got one of these,They are Fantastic
Been waiting for your reviews, man! Now watching your old old reviews... When is the Harley Pan America review coming?
At the end I thought it would apologize. You know, because it’s Canadian.
Brilliant review man, keep these vids coming.
_"iS iT cHeAp?"_
((Woman shaking her head, crying)) Nooo..!
Haha, that had me going, I already knew the answer. 😂
A bike license can cost you up to 2500 usd in sweden. If you're a fast learner and has
a good teacher you can get away with 1800-2000 usd and three months of spare time...
The bare minimum is around 800 without driving lessons and the books and stuff you
need.
Driving permit: 25$
Tutors permit: 20$ (As a learner you can't go out riding whitout a tutor.
Wich could be anyone who's had bike license for at least five years)
Risk edu and management part 1: 85$
Risk edu and management part 2: 340$
Knowledge test: 40$
Final driving test: 185$
Driving license printing and digital photo: 85$
Eye exam:11$
Can drive the Can am on my car license, so why not. A good alternative i think.
Every video made with quality in mind.... 👍👍👍👍
The tilting, braking and so on was really easy to pickup. cheers.
