I am half in favour of taking things out of the mind but half not.... because like any artist to the muse would admit... part of us doesn’t want it taken away. Why? Maybe because there is something beautiful that it can be turned into if, you act on it? I have been finding that as soon as I get those thoughts... sometimes I’m able to disengage with the actual thoughts but use them to my advantage (then I can view them as feedback to do something creative) e.g. I’ll tell myself to make some more notes on a movie/book idea, music idea, business idea, new exercise regime, scripting that involves the object of my obsession and then only the part of the scripting that focuses on me. I use a lamp at night and I dance to empowering music and I look at my shadow. I focus on my shadow - hoping that that mysterious part of my shadow , my potential, will be the thing that eventually enchants me and helps me overcome
I seemed to have to deal with these things alone. It sucked.. but I got over it. 🎉

This is super cool. You know what's even cooler? The fact that God can do this, 100%, done, complete. I really really liked this guy and he really liked me, we were going fine. I was fully planning on dating him for a long time, but my parents didn't approve of me being with an older guy and I knew it wasn't God's will. So I chose to say good bye to him to follow Jesus. Hardest thing I've ever done. I went through a really rough time where I just wanted him back, but I leaned on the Lord and the more I sought His face, the less feelings I had for my ex. Eventually the feelings were gone and I knew I was obeying God, experienced a period of peace and joy like I've never known before. Now I know God will find me the right one, in His time.
