    This was a very fun video to make. 🙃 Whilst I was editing, there were a few times where I wished I had locked off the shot on a tripod instead of talking whilst walking. 🤭 It was a big learning experience for me as a "filmer". And yes... as you can see I feel so damn strongly about this, that I'm writing about my edit here. 🥸 Either way, you sticking with me on my journey from photographer to "filmer", you will always have my sincere appreciation. 👍🏾 🙂
    Take care and keep on keepin' on... 🌞

      @@oliscurra both at the moment. Digital for work and film for personal. I like the benefits of both but I started with film in the 90s so I know well how easy it is to take in-focus, perfectly exposed images on digital now and not have to worry about anything bad happening between taking and printing. I also know how magical it is to have a length of film with little pictures on it.

    I am liking your out and about shots / video style. For me the super fast pace works… very enjoyable. Your point about comfort zones is right tomorrow I’m off into my nearest city (Carlisle) so as a country bumpkin it will be different. BTW I have the 21mm f1.8 Ultron, great on my SL 601, oh and Thomas Heaton is a god.

      Thanks Marcus. There will be quite a bit more content coming soon. Big change in my life which is going to facilitate this. Not just Leica stuff, but overall creativity and light etc....
      Aaah the 21mm. Without a doubt it is slowly (and unexpectedly) becoming one of my favourite lenses. It's a gorgeous focal length and Voigtländer built a beautiful lens. I love its character. Everything about it.
      How was your trip to Carlisle? (I assume in Cumbria)?

    Nice one! I really enjoy Thomas's videos, even though I'm not a landscape kinda guy at all. It's just so damn relaxing :) The video that really spoke to me though was shooting landscape in the most boring landscape.. just cycling around, challenging himself to take 10 pictures. That's something I can relate to, living in the city outskirts.
    Just noticed that you're in Switzerland? How did you manage to find the only area without any mountains in the view? ;)

    • @oliscurra
      @oliscurra  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback Renzsu. 👍🏾 One thing that I realise is my edit (and filming) is a lot more jarring than relaxing. 🙂 Something I took a note of during my edit for me to keep in mind for future. What kind of photography are you in to?

    • @Renzsu
      @Renzsu 2 года назад

      @@oliscurra Different styles for different people, you do you! I like your b/w preset btw, and you seem to find compositions that work with it, whether it’s a landscape or portraits.
      I myself have been thinking about doing more landscape, because street photography is kind of dead now.. I used to be into that quite intensely, but mental health issues kinda threw a spanner in the works. Slowly starting to pick it up again though. You can find some of my older stuff on flickr, but I tried posting the link a few times and youtube just didn’t seem to like it. I think I have a link in my profile though.

      @@absonus Thank you Michael. 🙂 I sincerely appreciate your view and the time you took to leave me a comment.
      I am quite snappy in my edit and probably won’t be as tranquil as Thomas. However, my specific note to myself was to balance the number of shots I have talking to the camera whilst walking vs whilst on tripod.
      Still new to the video game though. 🙂

      @michael markey I really appreciate the encouragement Michael. I'm so new to video that I am finding myself almost anew. Initially I was thinking of this being just about photography, but to storytelling potential of video is something I really want to explore. I hope you'll stick around.
      As far as the 21 Voit is concerned, what a gorgeous, gorgeous lens. It's become one of my favourite to shoot with. And matched with the SL2-S. Wow! A match made in heaven. 🙂

      Thanks Guido. If you haven’t already you should definitely check out my review on the SL2-S as well as the other video on its black and white jpg engine…
      In short though, I think it’s a very cool Leica, which embodies the Leica UX. What camera do you shoot with now?

    • @TheTuscaloosa
      @TheTuscaloosa 2 года назад

      @@oliscurra Leica Q; Ricoh Gr3 and Fuji XT2 which will I replace with the SL2-s. I'm close to Wetzlar which is very tempting :-) Regards from Germany

    • @oliscurra
      @oliscurra  2 года назад +1

      I think one of the first things you might notice is the weight of the camera. It's got some umph in comparison to the ones you've got. I find myself reaching to my GR2 often when we go for a walk. It's very much more practical. But the sensor makes beautiful images and has a lot of room to edit them. Also I love the UX. It's incredible how much the UX and the simplicity brings me to Leica. Looking forward to hearing from you if you do end up going down the SL2-S route.
