I've been living with facial disfigurement for nearly 20 years.
It's one of the most DEVASTATING things a person can live through, impacting every aspect of your life, and feelings of self-worth.
Feelings of LACK of self-worth, is more precise.
I feel like I've served a 20-Year Prison Sentence, for a crime I committed against myself, while in an altered state of mind. 😫😭

It's difficult to know to respond, when you sound so confusing and vague about your condition. Are you saying that you disfigured yourself?

      @anglophils645
Yes, while I was in an altered state of mind resulting from medications prescribed by my Doctor. 😫

Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm a 67 year old American woman. And though I'm still considered to be attractive , I'm no longer the beauty that I once was. As my brother-in-law, the plastic surgeon, said, "We're all getting older and uglier." My point is, facial deformities start to show up on everyone, as we age. I'm getting brown blotches all over my face, from sun damage. It's my fault, because I stayed in the sun too much. It's MORE my fault, than what you did, because I was not in an altered state. I was just young and foolish. And I've had bad reactions to medications, many people have, and can relate to what you did. I had a bad reaction to a medication----it was a steroid, and it gave me road rage. I ran into the back of another woman's car ON Purpose, when I was in an altered state. I caught hold of myself quickly, realized what I had done, and jumped out of my car, apologized to the woman, implying that it was an accident--but I knew that it had not been. No one was injured, thank God. She had two little children in the back seat. You must forgive yourself, it is NOT your fault that you injured yourself. I'm sure that you are a beautiful person, on the inside, which is what counts. And I know that I am. Do everything that you can to feel better about the way you look---make sure that the manufacturer of the medication that affected you pays for any treatments that you need or want, they have insurance to cover negative side effects experienced by patients. And beyond that, wake up every morning telling yourself, "I am a beautiful person." Do something every day, that helps another person, or animal, and you will feel good about yourself. Make a difference to someone every day, and you will be happy---and you will be loved, for the real you, which has nothing to do with the way you look.

Thank you for taking the time to write all of that.
That's so thoughtful of you to care enough to do that. ❤️
I don't think I would be able to be have their insurance cover the negative side effects, because it was so long ago, and my Doctor(s) prescribed me several medications simultaneously-- which I suspect was part of the problem.
But, thank you for the suggestion. ☺️
      Regarding your brown spots...
Those can be removed by Lasers and a series of Chemical Peels.
      Ask your brother-in-law about them.
They really make a difference in the quality of your skin!!☺️👍

Understand in a different sense. My disfigurement is on the inside from a rare genetic neurological condition that wasn’t diagnosed until just a few years ago at 31 y/o. As a child I was abused on a scale only a few know by my bio family.. locked in a closet, tortured, hogtied, starvation, denied education, CPS, given away to the state, & abused in every way imaginable. Children would make fun of me & play awful pranks. I was forced numerous unnecessary drugs. Now I’m protected by the abuse center, CS church, & state protection program. I’ve always felt the need to look perfect on the outside to hide what’s on the inside. Now my severe physical injuries have caught up to me & the emotional scars run so deep that I’m primarily bed bound. No one understands but the team of doctors helping me b/c of the way I look on the outside 😢

People need to stop the bullying no matter what they bully a person on. It could be you are fat, have pimples, wear glasses, have crappy clothes, whatever negative thing they think about a person, just keep it to yourself!! Everyone can see so you don’t have to show you are a complete ass by calling out negative remarks about people that they can’t help. Give them a hand up, not a kick to make them feel bad! What’s your problem anyway? 🤐

I dont have a facial disfigurement but i did have an overbite when i was younger and never went for brace. I'd cover my mouth. Here i am with fronts missing....i still cover my face.
I'm 48 and never considered myself cute, fine, or beautiful.
These women here are amazingly beautiful ❤❤❤
