One of the most visually impressive 2D games ever made, the pixel art and animation in this outstanding arcade shooter still hold up to this day - well worth the time to re-record for QHD!
I found just about every hostage possible, although the game seems very inconsistent as to whether it spawns those who fall from the tree-tops in mission 03.

Rescuing all 98 hostages in Metal Slug 1996 is a very tough task.

I beaten Metal Slug 1 without any lives lost in Metal Slug Anthology.

You completed it without continues! Wow! It normally take my 20 or so continues to get to the end, and I often lose the Metal Slug and lose a life during bosses, hindering the points I get. I do play quite wrecklessly though. That being said, I do really like Metal Slug; well worth the ~£7 I paid for the ACA Neo Geo version on the Xbox One.
Will you do Metal Slug 3? That one takes me ~50 continues. I'm glad I have the PS2 which I got for £6; I can't imaging getting far at all if I had played it in the arcades
