There are two reasons why people thought Liko was Ash's daughter. First, it was because of her hair clip being very similar to the symbol on his original cap. And the second, and most ridiculous, is because she's the protagonist, and so she must have some connection to Ash because people have been wanting to see an older Ash for the last decade and some still can't get over him being gone, so they want him to still be part of the story in some way. Also, a lot of people said she looked like Serena and were hoping this confirmed the Ash-Serena romance.
Even though Ask isn't Liko's father, I can predict that we haven't seen the last of Ash Ketchum & that he might return for maybe a 2-3 episode story arc.

To bring an age where the odds of trainers mistreating their pokemon is dramatically reduced to near nothing. Working with trainers having difficulty with powerful pokemon to find new understanding.
