Bruce's voice does often take a bit of getting used to. His voice is amazing, but atypical of most metal singers, so it is a grower. By the same token, Asami from Lovebites (who is often compared to Bruce in terms of style) similarly takes a few listens to get into, but once you do, her voice is incredible!

And weither you'll be one of their followers doesn't matter, you can still appreciate the skill or appeal to others...

Even though by that point Iron Maiden were no longer in their prime years by that point, they were still the greatest concert I have ever been to! And also the nicest crowd I've ever been a part of! Iron Maiden really brought everyone together! Everyone in that crowd treated me like I was a long lost friend even though we were all strangers! And also I was in the back of the stadium against a load bearing pole but they made me feel like I was front row! I recommend their performance of Rime of the Ancient Mariner live from that tour! I saw Iron Maiden in 1982 at the Summer Strut concert at Anaheim Stadium with 80k people, years later saw the Somewhere in Time concert in the Sports Arena in San Diego, we had lower level seats stage right, and Dave Murray came out on the floor in front of the P.A. speakers just below us, and I screamed, "Dave Murray!", waving. He waved back, and our section went nuts.

Hall of the mountain king, Legions, Sirens, all crazy songs and their later stuff like Wake of Magellian or Poets and Madman albums are just insane. A cool thing about Iron Maiden is that Steve Harris (the bass player) writes almost everything. However this eventually lead to Bruce Dickinson feeling like he wasn't contributing enough, so Steve agreed for Bruce to write a lot of the lyrics for the Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son album, which is my absolute favourite by them. They take it a lot more progressive sounding than previously and it's just a great album. Powerslave is a close second favourite album of mine.

You're wrong. Bruce wanted to make an acoustic album as the follow up to powerslave but Steve was against the idea and said the songs were poor. That hit Bruce hard and that's why there's no songs written by him on somewhere in time. When it came to writing 7th son Steve told Bruce his idea and it inspired him to write the songs for that album.

Iron Maiden truly excels at storytelling, especially with their more historically inspired songs. Run to the Hills, Aces High, Passchendaele, Alexander the Great, The Clansman, and many others that really make me feel I was there seeing it firsthand! Maiden and Sabaton have introduced me to some of the most epic and tragic moments of so many countries!

Yes on the number of the beast the drummer was Clive Burr, he passed away from an illness and he had to leave iron maiden because the touring was to much for him and he really wanted to go home so they were forced to let him go, before he died iron maiden invited Clive to come on tour with them in his wheelchair and got to go on stage with them, they remained friends their entire life's even after Clive went home and never played with them again. I saw an interview and Iron Maiden cried for Clive and I cried myself, Clive said it was a dream come true during the time he was with them.

That moment when the band comes back to the main riffs still sends chills up my arms: a gigantic Eddie with his arms reaching over the stage out to the audience with flames shooting from his eyes! That's still one of the most classic theatrical moves any band has ever done.
