3:33 Rose's reaction is extreme, but I get it lol I never saw my dad. I get some people accidently walk in on theirs in the bathroom or something, but in our house, we used the locks on doors and were taught to knock😅 so I, thankfully, never "saw" my dad

The only time I “saw” my dad was when I was little and sometimes took a bath with him but I never thought much about it though

My brother and I "saw" my dad a few times as kids by accident. 😂 For context, my dad had weight/health issues when we were kids and he always wore the same clothes because they were all he could find that fit him. (It was a problem in our little town because he could never find clothes his size. He bought new clothes maybe 1-2x a year until he found a magazine that sold bigger clothes.)
A few times we got... glimpses. 🤷‍♀ Mainly when he was trying to do something and bending over.
As a young girl, I was grossed out for obvious reasons. (As I got older, whenever it happened, which was thankfully not often, I would just go, "Dad, cover yourself! You're showing! You need new shorts!" He would cover up and that was that.)
But my brother would always be disgusted for some reason and my dad would reply, "You're male too. Why are YOU so shocked about it?" 😂😂

I "saw" my dad a few times. The most memorable one was when, as a kid, I had accidentally trapped myself in a bedroom that had no knob on the door. My dad woke up, got a butter knife and slid it under the door to me. After some fiddling around, I got the door opened - and there my dad was, stark naked and irritated that his sleep had been interrupted. He just grumpily went back to bed while I was kind of in shock. XD

I love your reactions. I've been watching with you since the pilot episode 😅
Funfact: Rue McClanahan initially auditioned for the role of Rose Nylund, while Blanche Devereux was offered to Betty White. However, after the audition, the creator decided to switch the roles. Honestly, I'm glad they switched bc Betty White as Rose is perfect and I couldn't imagine her as Blanche 🤣

Alexxa, have you ever seen the movie In the Heat of the Night with Sidney Poitier? If not I would love to see your reaction/opinion of it. The TV series based on the movie, that came out later, in the 80s, was also very good, at least the first couple seasons (the guy who plays the main character from the movie unfortunately developed a drug addiction so had to be removed).
The movie is about a small town in the South of the USA where they are very racist. They have a murder, and a cop drives around town looking for anyone who might have suspicious behavior to make them think he was responsible, and Sidney Poitier's character ends up being arrested for Waiting for a Bus While Black....the local police feel very stupid when it turns out he himself is a police officer, a detective from Philadelphia. Philadelphia PD ends up ordering Poitier's character to help them with the murder. He does discover it, but it's not who we think for most of the movie.
The TV series is about him moving to that town with his (extremely beautiful!) wife, and all the things that happen to them living in a racist town. The lady who played his wife said they recorded it in the south (just like with the movie) and she said she felt extremely uncomfortable in that town! 😲Sidney Poitier apparently slept with a firearm when he was off set, because he didn't trust that someone would not commit violence against him in that town. 😲
(Americans from the proper states, who didn't vote for Trump, avoid that area for same reasons a Canadian or European would!)
Anyway would love to see what you thought of that movie and the TV show, please consider if you have time. 🙂

Thank you for this comment! No I haven't seen In the Heat of the Night, but I've added it to my list! I will prioritize the movie over the series! Thanks for the suggestion ❤️
