Visions of Glory was the number one BEST non-fiction seller in Utah in 2023. The LDS church has made no effort to debunk the author's claims of his near death visions. This is a dangerous book!
Visions of Glory is not part of the church curriculum butttttt it is popular among Mormon members; preppers and non preppers alike. The church does nothing to stop it because folks are already mesmerized by Mormonism before reading it and they just dig deeper into principles of the church. The egg came first, not the chicken.

Many things in that book are actually very contradictory to Mormon doctrine. For mainstream members it’s hard to wrap your mind around how people can say they believe in the Mormon church and also accept the things in that book. Traditional, active Mormon members consider that book “fringe” at best and apostate at worst. And that was even before the fruits of its teachings were on display in several prominent crime cases. The church organization does not promote that book. The author was even going to lose his membership in the church over it shortly after it was published. So publicly he made a statement that minimized his teachings and said it was just visions and not “true” in order to keep his church membership. Peter, the Slenderman story is intense. In 2014, in Wisconsin (what's going on in Wisconsin) 2 12 year old girl stabbed their friend 19 times and left her to die in the woods. SHE LIVED! The girls claimed the Slenderman told them to do it. The girl who did the stabbing was sentenced to 40 years to life in a mental institution. I think Prior is purposely trying to disrupt the flow of the trial by objecting to everything and partially because he is upset with Judge Boyce for not allowing him to quit being Chad’s lawyer.
I wouldn’t assume the latter. He should have known Boyce would deny that r!diculous request. And all defense lawyers who are any good will do this to throw off flow.
@@duchessmartinez2035I think it's part of his trial strategy. If the jury is confused because of the interruption in flow of damning information, it will be harder for them to put Chad to death.

This trial is the only time that I haven't been able to watch due to an extreme dislike of one of the attorneys in the case. I watched the first day, somehow managed to make it most of the way and I haven't watched again. John Prior is insufferable. I have disliked him from the very beginning, when they were first charged. I find him to be very arrogant and it's off putting. I was very bothered by the fact that he objected to absolutely EVERYTHING and wanted to continually voir dire the witness which in my opinion was more like a cross, but when the state has an objection he just keeps going like it's no big deal.
The way he keeps making a statement and going, "right?" is driving me crazy. The way he says it feels like when that friend who's a bad influence is trying to convince you to cover for them. He's so very obviously trying to put words in the witness's mouth.
12:53 OMG!! This is soooo frustrating that they didn’t clarify what type of message it was where Tammy was warning others about the masked gunman in her driveway. 1) it was NOT an email; 2) it was NOT A TEXT MESSAGE either 🙄; 3) IT WAS A FACEBOOK POST by Tammy Daybell. I can’t understand how neither side got this right?!?! 😡 Sometimes i know the case too well…
John Prior comes across as unlikeable and arrogant. As someone who once served as a juror on a death penalty case where the lead prosecutor came across the same way, I guarantee you he is not doing Chad any favors with his behavior.
From what I gathered from other LDS trials. A lot of them are taught police is bad, liars and there to twist the truth. I think it stems from mormonists who were polygamous and had the police "hunt" them and try to catch as many
John Prior’s “Judge, I’m going to object at this point” is already starting to drive me nuts, but I think he does it for the perception of the jury from what I saw in jury selection and so far in trial. If he lays it on too thick, I think the jury might start seeing it as just putting on a “nice guy” act.
Speaking of slipping in objectionable questions just to get info in… it drives me bonkers when a witness answers NO to having any knowledge of a situation completely so the atty (usually defense) will say "Would it surprise you to know blah-blah-blah??" - basically telling the jury the info (as if it were a FACT) they were hoping to get out of the witness. Granted this can be objected to… but the jury has now already heard it. Oh those slimy shady lawyers…….😉
The live streaming set up in this courtroom mirrors the 100s of courts across the US that live stream their proceedings. It provides transparency to the public without the sensationalism that media's control of the audio visual brings into the courtroom. These are real cases with real victims. Over time the courtrooms will get better equipment.
I'm not sure this will come up in trial, but Visions of Glory is a book Chad and Lori were both obsessed with. Not only them but Ruby Franke, Jodi H, and Tim Ballard as well. These people all attended the same prepper conferences and preparing a people conferences too. This book fueled their belief system. As far as Chad's trial goes....this trial is going to be very different bcuz Pryor is actually putting on a defense for Chad where Lori wouldn't allow her attys to defend her at all. Chad will tell Lori thru their "portal" that he threw her under the bus for the greater good of their beliefs. Just in case he gets off at least one of them will be able to carry on and gather the 144,000. LOL.
With all the electronic evidence they have I don’t see how Chad can say he knew nothing…plus Tammy’s death…suffocating ? That had to be him, seems they are forgetting that little fact, especially when it think it was 17 days later he was marrying Lori in Hawaii…
I haven’t read it, and won’t. But I’d like to point out that I’m sure millions have read it (or maybe just hundreds of thousands) and 99% of them don’t start their own cults and torture or k!LL children. My point is, narcissists will be narcissists with or without weird religions and guidebooks to tell them what to think. They will latch onto whatever suits their PERSONAL agenda, whether that’s Trump, Mormonism, some NDE book, The Westboro Baptist Church, or whatever the case. So unless the book asks people to hurt others, I wouldn’t place much blame on it.
True, it isn't important in the grand scheme of things whether or not Tammy made a facebook post or wrote an email, BUT even small mistakes like this make a lawyer look like they don't know their case. If my life is literally on the line, I want my lawyer to know my case inside and out. If I was watching a true crime video and the person said it was an email it would make me question their research.
Not true. This is a very regional group of disturbed people. These people certainly do not represent the 17 million members o the LDS faith who live all over the world. Their are evil people in every religion.
Thank you for the summeries..i cant do that trial again as a mom of a 9 year old boy with severe autism 😢 i cant begin to understand how anyone could..

We all know it’s very possible that Alex was the one who actually got his hands dirty in these gruesome murders BUT with conspiracy you do not have to be the one to commit the crime- only perform an action to further the crime. Chad is the one who created all of the dark and light lists-all the people who were listed as dark people “disappeared”. That fact alone could be enough to convict. And there is A LOT more than just that to link Chad. Prior can point the finger all he wants but we will see, they all played a part in Charles, Tylee, and JJ’s murder. Tammy’s murder I haven’t seen much evidence so I am hoping they have enough proof for justice for Tammy as well.
For Tammy they did an autopsy and said she was strangled, and she was in bed with Chad and only Chad all night. That’s where he F’d up! So it’s impossible for him to have not been involved. His lawyer says he has experts that say she didn’t die that way but we shall see…
Shows how out of touch JP is….just looking at the screen shot you can tell it’s either fb or Instagram with the emoji reactions. For a lawyer to be so out of touch with what social media even looks like, doesn’t look good for him as a lawyer. He’s had this case for YEARS, you would think he would have known by now. JP is a creep, so arrogant…seems like he is terrible in court.
Hidden True Crime, a channel you have mentioned, has a number of episodes about the connections between Jodi Hildebrandt and Chad Daybell's particular beliefs.
I didn’t see this comment before making a comment but I said the same thing! They do a fantastic job digging into all of them. Pretty sickening and disturbing. 😞
Prior is a manipulator. He asks leading questions (or statements) and ends his question with “Right?” He hopes the jurors will remember what he said rather than the facts of the evidence. His cross focuses on the “paintball gun” incident so he hopes to distract the jurors from the horrific reality of the children being found in his client’s back “pasture”. I pray the jurors are not fooled by his tactics and remember that two innocent children’s remains were found in Daybell’s property !!! Prior is not respectful of the judge or the process. He addresses Judge Boyce as Judge and not as Your Honor. I believe the jurors will notice this and it will trouble them. Many people in Idaho are conservative and very respectful in dealing with other people, especially those in positions of authority. Prior is demonstrating a lack of respect for the judge and that won’t sit well with the jury. He dismisses one of the investigating officers as he says “I can’t remember his name, Officer K”. Incredibly disrespectful !!! How impressive of Detective Hermosillo in how he deals with Prior. Nate Eaton, Gigi, Justin Lum and Lauren Matthias are all terrific in their coverage. Mr. Peter, I appreciate your analysis !! You give me s9me peace of mind about the ultimate outcome of this. Will you do the same for the Idaho 4 case because the defense attorney there is pulling some pretty outrageous stunts,
It's Idaho, I think he will get death. Idaho doesn't mess around! He will not do well in an Idaho Prison either. It's going to be rough for him. He's been sitting in Madison County, where little Mormon ladies cook good food too. Boy, he is in for a rude awakening. It's probably already setting in while he sits in Ada County for the trial. The prisons there are dangerous because of overcrowding, too. He's in the county now, and day one, in the actual prison, justice will be served. I wrote a thesis on Idaho incarceration in 2017. Im well aware of the conditions inside, and they aren't good.
Please make note:The Mormon Church does not nor never has promoted the book - Visions of Glory. It was written by an individual who has his own views and fantasies not connected with the doctrine of the Mormon church.
Let him explain the text about burning the raccoon and checking which way the wind direction was going the day after Kylie went missing after finding her body had been burned. He was the one giving out the dark scale to decide when someone had to go. If he had no idea what Alex and Lori were doing why wasn't he asking Lori where the children were? Instead of helping her escape the police
Pryor’s conspiracy theory re the gunman being after Chad is a huge stretch for me. Tammy was @ the back door of the vehicle & spoke to him. Surely Chad & Tammy didn’t look that much ALIKE to be mistaken for each other.
This helped so much! I watched the trial and could NOT figure out why defense was going on and on about the paintball and all the other weird questions during cross examination. I guess just trying to deflect from poor manipulated unsuspecting Chad lol.
Fortunately we now have the ability to use the internet to deep dive all kinds of information in seconds. When I was in elementary school, we had 2-8 year old sets of encyclopedias and in high school, we researched everything at the school or public libraries in books…🤣👍🏽
@ Katie Pecos.. In response to your comment during the livestream about the chat making you more rational. I too enjoy being part of a conversation with others who display good critical thinking skills and decorum.
I'm very aware of the religious prejudice in too many comments. Tho I hold religion in dim regard, generally, I definitely don't appreciate the irony of folks who are ignorant about someone else's religion being critical without the least bit of information.
No matter how much chad tries to blame Lori, she wasn’t at his house when his wife Tammy was murdered! He tried to get away with it he didn’t want an autopsy, they exhumed her remains and find she was suffocated! That had to be you Chad, then Tammy magically falls out of bed…..yeah RIGHT ! Chad is a murderer IMO…. then 2 weeks later he’s in Hawaii marrying Lori. He’s pathetic…… he is as bad as Lori and Alex. Chad also did all the light / dark ratings, everyone dark was murdered or attempted to be murdered what a pos …such a sleaze. 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
@@kateashby3066yeah Prior is saying she was sickly and using home remedies and rubbing oil on her leg. He’s going to say she died from her home remedies and not seeing a Dr. But imo that’s bs, she was training to run a marathon. That’s not sickly.
Interesting that the Judge has such patience with John Prior's not allowing the Judge to make a ruling. WOW!! Thank you for all you do Peter!! Have a great wknd!!
Most judges do because it can start to look like they’re biased if they overdo the emotions. Even if they’re warranted. Remember the nikolas Cruz trial? That judge got fired for being so mean. And it was pretty warranted too.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you. Really helped me, and saved me alot of time, and saved me from contantly changing the soeed (edit: speed*) of the playback, uuugghh. I guess 'Thanks' was enough here... Ramble done 😂
I think they are both equally guilty, but the way his defense opening was that he was manipulated by Lory is a stretch. Lory’s defense was basically that she really believed the things that got her into this. She acted like for her this is a reality. He coming now with blaming everybody and in some way these people put him in that positions seems like was really easy for him to snap out of his beliefs. Has that feeling of Ruby and Jody, one saying was the other one and the other one saying she was manipulated. These people conveniently wake up from their convictions when they will receive justice and are quite delusional to believe that will make them look less guilty.
I was a possible juror for this trial. We had to fill out a 23 page initial 29:57 questionnaire. There were questions regarding a defendant taking the stand.
"Detective, are you aware that the letter "T" usually comes AFTER the letter "G"? Objection...relevence? Your Honor.,..needing to waste some time, sir". Overrulled.,........Rinse and repeat. 🙄🤯
Just wait til the jury gets to hear the text between Chad and Lori talking about hurting the kids. The idea that Chad is a nice guy will go out the window.
When his kids get on the stand someone should ask them " Did your dad tell you he renamed your mom " Viola " and said she was a dark spirit?

Well said!
And he's very cute Please don't ever cut you're hair Peter, you might loose your super powers ❤ Great video.
Our Peter is the polar opposite of John Prior!
Boyce will lose his patience with Pryor by the end of next week. I can’t wait for Lindsay Blake to have her turn! I ❤ HER!
I think it's a confidence from trusting God
I believe Chad totally gas lit Tammy and HE is the one that said oh it was probably a paint ball gun and that’s what she went with.
100%. He was loooovin the LV attention/action with all the emotional maturity of a 14yo boy...
Based on Lori and Chad's behavior post-crimes, it seems inconceivable to me they weren't in it together.
Prior objects to everything all the time, no matter what. He likes to argue and the sound of his own voice.
@@duchessmartinez2035I think it's part of his trial strategy. If the jury is confused because of the interruption in flow of damning information, it will be harder for them to put Chad to death.
Chad's texts are extremely damning.
I've tried to listen to this trial but the sound is so bad that it's almost impossible to hear what they are saying.
I believe that is intentional.
I tried to listen as well, and the camera views makes watching this trial impossible.
The worst.. I listen to Nate with east Idaho news recap everyday.. he’s been following this story since the beginning. Definitely worth a watch/listen.
as it is in 70% of trials. if you are actually interested and this is a hobby that you enjoy, invest in headphones or a bluetooth mic. i have a boom3 and would not be able to follow the trials at all. just a suggestion😉
@@laraoneal7284 emmm...yeah obviously. wifi, internet etc is international/global. where did that come from haha, nobody said anything about regional hearing problems
I Cannot Stand Prior Either.
Good to know. He is very irritating.
Good!
Google him! He is a creep!
Don't like the man
Agreed
Interesting that the kids refused to talk to the police.
They were groomed to fear police. And hospitals. And anything normal!!
LOL.
It’s sounds like a dangerous book
It was in Loris trial. She was photographed in Hawaii reading it
True, it isn't important in the grand scheme of things whether or not Tammy made a facebook post or wrote an email, BUT even small mistakes like this make a lawyer look like they don't know their case. If my life is literally on the line, I want my lawyer to know my case inside and out. If I was watching a true crime video and the person said it was an email it would make me question their research.
Agree, it shows how out of touch he is….plus he’s had this case for YEARS !!! Says a lot about JP
Big Facts about Visions of Glory. HEAVILY promotes religious grandiosity in the LDS. I think it’s their #3 most purchased book in their book stores
Not true. This is a very regional group of disturbed people. These people certainly do not represent the 17 million members o the LDS faith who live all over the world. Their are evil people in every religion.
Just found this channel! I really appreciate the breakdown!
Thank you for the summeries..i cant do that trial again as a mom of a 9 year old boy with severe autism 😢 i cant begin to understand how anyone could..
I love the shirt... I'm in rewatch crew today for some reason I didn't get the notification
Peter has some great shirts‼️👍🏽Casual and business. I’ve noticed that my notifications seemed to be voided after an apple ios update. Subscribe, unsubscribe, resubscribe and set notifications again worked for me…🤷♀️🙃
We all know it’s very possible that Alex was the one who actually got his hands dirty in these gruesome murders BUT with conspiracy you do not have to be the one to commit the crime- only perform an action to further the crime.
His lawyer says he has experts that say she didn’t die that way but we shall see…
It wasn't an email or a text message. It was a Facebook post.
Ikr
Shows how out of touch JP is….just looking at the screen shot you can tell it’s either fb or Instagram with the emoji reactions. For a lawyer to be so out of touch with what social media even looks like, doesn’t look good for him as a lawyer. He’s had this case for YEARS, you would think he would have known by now. JP is a creep, so arrogant…seems like he is terrible in court.
Rewatch crew here. Ty peter for your work here!
I literallly said I’ll just wait until Peter comes on #replay
Bettwr sound here
Prior is a manipulator.
Will you do the same for the Idaho 4 case because the defense attorney there is pulling some pretty outrageous stunts,
It’s a huge peeve of mine when people say “Judge”, instead of “Your Honor”. Judge is what he IS. “Your Honor”, is how you address him.
My work has been so busy. I haven't been able to catch many lives or premiers. Thank goodness for rewatch. Thanks Peter!
There are so many charges that he’ll be guilty for something. Conspiracy at the least. All the text from Lori’s trial showed he was in the know.
The Mormon church does not approve Visions of Glory.
That hasn’t stopped it from becoming the best selling book of 2023 in the state of Utah.
@@kimchpm its still a dangerous book, even if the mormon church doesn’t approve of it.
I wonder if all the women Chad was married to in previous lives will be testifying 🤪
To give you what kind of creep John Prior is google his 2012 plea deal. He (JP) was 50. She, the victim was 19.
That’s why we call him prior with a prior
@@BoiseGreatDane That works, thanks.
I saw that. It just confirms what a creep he is!
How awful. It is surprising he was able to keep his law license….maybe due to misdemeanor.
Fortunately we now have the ability to use the internet to deep dive all kinds of information in seconds. When I was in elementary school, we had 2-8 year old sets of encyclopedias and in high school, we researched everything at the school or public libraries in books…🤣👍🏽
Nate Eaton said it’s a Facebook post, not a text or an email
Great job on dissecting this. Thank you LYK.
OMG....It wasnt a text or email it was a Facebook post
@ Katie Pecos.. In response to your comment during the livestream about the chat making you more rational. I too enjoy being part of a conversation with others who display good critical thinking skills and decorum.
Prior has to be annoying the Jury...he sure is annoying me,lol.
Wasn't Tammy's message on Facebook?
Yes
So is the bloom on the rose gone for Chad now?
Yes, poor dumb, innocent Chud. He was grabbed by the storm and swept away.
As Lord Acton sent to Bishop Creighton:
“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely”
I’m with Azam here; 500k by the end of the year! 🎉

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does NOT support visions of glory we don't believe in its tenants.
He’s arguing that she didn’t die that way and he’s bringing on experts to “prove” it.
@@kateashby3066yeah Prior is saying she was sickly and using home remedies and rubbing oil on her leg. He’s going to say she died from her home remedies and not seeing a Dr. But imo that’s bs, she was training to run a marathon. That’s not sickly.
Evidence way too damning. He's getting the death penalty - Murder 1 under Idaho Law and rightly so. Justice for JJ, Tylee & Tammy
Your observations and analysis make this so much more interesting! Thank you for another awesome video as always (replay crew)
Bryce Jones is incorrect. In fact totally wrong. The "Mormon" church does NOT support these authors.
This judge is extremely patient. He has dealt with Mr. Pryor before and knows how he is. He is a excellent judge.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you. I dont always get a chance to see the original (at original speed) but I like seeing your commentary, but I like regular speed, but I like not watching it twice...
So.. I liked todays format! Really helped me, and saved me alot of time, and saved me from contantly changing the soeed (edit: speed*) of the playback, uuugghh.
I guess 'Thanks' was enough here...
Ramble done 😂
So difficult to follow this trial with the distracting camera angles and especially the sound quality. Ok, the Judge got his way.
These people conveniently wake up from their convictions when they will receive justice and are quite delusional to believe that will make them look less guilty.
love the commentary thank you for the education!
I was a possible juror for this trial. We had to fill out a 23 page initial 29:57 questionnaire. There were questions regarding a defendant taking the stand.
Peter what do you think about pryor not having a counsel helping him on a DP case?
I think John prior keeps talking once there’s an objection so that even if the judge sustains well prior still gets the jury to hear his questions imo
Curious what Lori thinks about Chad's defense strategy.
It wasn’t a text message- it was a facebook post.
Rewatch crew today. Thanks, Peter.
"Detective, are you aware that the letter "T" usually comes AFTER the letter "G"? Objection...relevence? Your Honor.,..needing to waste some time, sir". Overrulled.,........Rinse and repeat. 🙄🤯
