And she told JJ’s grandparents that he wasn’t with her when Lori told them JJ was with her. Of course is understandable because the police was going to ask her to produce the kids too, but in Lori and Chad’s mind that must have been a betrayal.

Counselor that was an excellent episode you recapped and explained. At the end of your program someone in your live chat made a profound point that when John Prior casted doubt for his client, Chad Daybell when they said Melanie Gibb was there the night JJ was murdered and where's the proof Chad was there when JJ was killed? Lori's hair was on the duct tape evidence as well as a fingerprint from Alex Cox on the trash bag JJ was wrapped up in.
Then Alex Cox cellphone pinged right where the children were buried on 2 separate dates in September 2019 definitely could turn the spotlight on Melanie Gibb. David Warwick, boyfriend, now husband, who was also there with her at Lori's apartment #174 when JJ died or over at Alex's apartment #107

If you tell them its a subpoena, then yes you have to take it or you are now effectively served.
It is the same way with filing for divorce, if a person just trys to shove a bunch of papers at you, that you have to take them... You dont know what someone might be trying to do.

These ppl were doing castings on lots of people including CHILDREN! 😡. These nut jobs were essentially hoping for these people to die!
Now none of this excuses Chad and Lori and Alex for their direct actions but all these nut jobs have some accountability to all that happened as well. Gibb knew that they were doing castings on Charles…. He’s dead. They were doing castings on Melanie B’s husband and he almost died…. In fact Gibb went to spy on the aftermath for Melanie B and Alex & Lori. She was a willing tool and she knew damn well that castings were nothing more than a hit list that served Lori and Chad and Melanie B. Why isn’t Melanie B implicated in any of this?

I found this questioning to be overwrought and deliberately misleading, and if were a juror I’d be so irritated with the defense attorney at this moment.
The reason Miu’s lies were so devastating to his case is that they were lies designed to help HIMSELF. How could he expect OTHER people to believe it was self defense if his lies make it seem like HE doesn’t even believe it?
On the other hand, Melanie’s lie was meant to help her cousin who she believed was in need. She was lead by Lori to believe that Lori was being falsely accused or railroaded, and as soon as she realized that it was in fact HER that was being mislead, she immediately corrected her lie and told the police the truth.
And at that point, there’s no further incentive for her to keep lying. Unlike in Miu’s case, she didn’t admit to the lie only when she was caught and has no choice. And unlike Miu, once she was no longer on board with helping Lori escape justice it doesn’t make any sense for her to continue lying about other things. The entire incentive structure behind the initial lie was gone.
So any comparison between Miu’s lies and Melanie’s is, in my opinion, a false one.
So I find this lawyer to be harping on the one lie she did tell, because he doesn’t have much else to say to this witness or anybody else for that matter, so he’s resorted to making mountains out of molehills.

For me both are equally guilty, however the way Lori didn’t allow the defense to attack her beliefs and Chad, gives the idea that she was actually convinced in her own mind. Chad is like all is fair in this defense, feels like he always knew this was bad, but was trying to convince people. Feels like when Ruby said that she was defending everything until she noticed that Jody changed her convictions as soon as they got caught. All guilty, but I don’t think this defense is making Chad look like the poor manipulated victim.

But the more I see the more I'm believing that Lori really is delusional, and became convinced of all of these beliefs.(And since she relied on Chad's "powers", she can delude herself that he REALLY DOES have these powers. On the other hand it's much more likely that Chad knows hes full of shit. The answers come for himself. So he'd have to be really warped to think God is just providing them to him. And I fully believe the rating of people was decided on what benefited him, AND what made Lori happy. I'm sure he did rate Tylee as dark. Chad is guilty. Lori is guilty. Melanie should have been charged. Not remembering key points from a trial that was less than two years ago is convenient.

These people, these beliefs, are just whack. I love Lori using the Lord told her when Melanie called her out on not being a loving friend. It's just wild what what people will do under the cover of religion..

The narrative made by Prior in regard to accusing Melanie Gibb of "plotting a murder with Lori" sounded absolutely absurd. The phone call made it sound pretty clear that Melanie didn't want to let on that she was recording them to find out where the kids were - so to turn around and insinuate she was involved with their homicide was simply idiotic IMO.
Like Peter said, what motive would Gibb have for wanting the kids gone!?

    • @Somegirl811

Really? She was putting on a show for the cops to try to make herself look innocent because she was in trouble for lying about having JJ which directly contributed to the delays in finding him and saving his life. Tired of people excusing her.

Just because you can't figure out a motive, doesn't mean there wasn't one. It didn't have to have anything to do with wanting the kids dead. It could have had to do with something she did and wants Lori or Lori and Chad to keep their mouths shut.

Melanie and David heard this kid being murdered and called it a "nightmare" or David having a "vision", that led to Melanie going to Lori's bedroom in the middle of the night.

He was focusing on Melanie’s “ not remembering what actual day of the week that things took place” I wouldn’t remember those details 4years later either. She remembered the actual events that took place. Prior just wanted to have the jury see that Melanie’s faculties aren’t to be trusted

This was Melanie playing CYA bc she knew Tylee was gone. She also suspected or knew JJ was gone. She also knew that she was on this up to her neck and is implicated. She had to put a block wall between them, so she made this call and recorded it. I cringe at MG!

Yes, this! She was totally protecting herself only! She wanted confirmation on record that she didn't know anything. She was there the night they 'disappeared' him to uncle Alex's next door.....

This call occurred early on in the search for the children, but it's very telling to me that M. Gibb NEVER MENTIONS TYLEE! Not once! Mrs. "I felt an obligation to share with them everything I knew" is also evasive around certain topics. This call sounds like a blueprint of self-servitude. "Not from someone who knows as much as you, Mel!" says a lot that I would hope could be revealed.
Sidebar: Gibb's comment re: "Oh honey, you've got a lot of natural desires. We all know that." combined with the brief excerpt from one of Zulema's interviews with police which the defense wrongly played on cross where Z mentions that Gibb and Lori shared a room... Gadzooks! This murderous sex cult appears bigger than just C+L.
It feels so telling that Chad mentions the need to "testify," and that his children have "testified." An odd choice of words indeed.

Daybell is guilty. Why do I think that? Alex was in his yard with JJ’s body on September 23rd from 9:55am to 10:12am. That’s 17 minutes. The grave must have been pre-dug (by Chad who digs graves for a living) and the boards and rocks placed there for him to use. Alex only had to place the wrapped child’s body in the hole and cover using what was prepared for him. There is no way Alex could have dug the hole, found the boards and rocks and covered the grave in 17 minutes by himself. Chad knew where J.J. was.
