What da hell are the Frenchies doin' so far awey from Europe? Dey got no business there.
People need to know what the debate was about before making stupid comments 1/ there have been a number of referendums recently and New Caledonians voted to stay as a French territory for economic reasons 2/ The French Gov passed a law to say that is you have lived in New Caledonia for more than 10 years you should be able to vote in their local elections? How long does a person need to reside in a place before they can vote there? I think 10 years is quite sufficient.
The french has no business there
1/ the last referendum was boycotted by the kanak people after requesting to France a postponement due to COVID pandemic aftermath, so for a big part of the electorate the Noumea Accords are still in progress; 2/ The Kanak people expressed very clear that they are living settler colonialism with a heavy influx of metropolitan french and pro-french migrants from Asia and the Pacific; the policy to stop these people to vote until the country get a fair agreement of autonomy or the independence is a decolonial position even recognised by the European Court of Human Rights
France should leave Caledonia to the people of the Caledonia.
Wdym majority of New Caledonia people “would will stay with France because” majority are French rather than natives. They natives want independence but more French people already pour in during colonialism. So it’s kind of impossible
@kipchumba26 only 300k people in Caledonia can’t even beat the population of entire France including Wallis and Futuna and some Caribbean’s islands
the french should leave them alone... in half year they are beggin the french to come back...
As a Frenchman, I don't care about Kanak traditions and culture and as in the USA and for Australia, they just have to exist as a minority.
A lot of people call the US 'imperialist', stating they're trying to control oil rich countries and intervene elsewhere. Meanwhile, France STILL has colonies they control, as well as having some grip on various West African countries.
we suport kanaki indepedence
France, leave the people alone. They are no more your slaves
France must go 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
France should leave
We will never forget that our Algerian revolutionaries 🇩🇿 of 1871 were deported to New Caledonia 🇳🇨 by the French occupation (the world's criminal country. 😢 In history
ah yes the colonialists crack down on differences of opinion
French needs to leave
Not to worry the french will surrender. 😂
