when I heard Yonghoon's vocals I had the same reaction - delight and surprise. he is worthy of his title - main vocalist. he has really amazing powerful vocals. he knows how to convey emotions like no one else. truly amazing. I have never heard such a powerful voice from anyone else. the group is very talented. they have very beautiful songs. I was very glad to see someone have a similar reaction to mine.
Parting is THAT SONG for me and it will never sit well with me that it was the title track for an album of demo tracks and was never properly promoted. That, and their song Star both should have been given their time to shine on music shows. 😭 Compared to typical kpop groups, Onewe pretty decently balance between bangers and ballads for their title tracks. They actually debuted with a ballad! All of the members except the guitarist have cried at least once while performing it. Reminisce About All has a direct line to the members' tearducts lol

Yonghoon doesn’t have opera/musical theatre training but you can hear in his voice musical songs would suit him! They have three main composers, Yonghoon, the main vocalist, Kanghyun, the guitarist, and Giuk, the Bass player and rapper. Each of them has a very different mood of song. End of Spring was written by Kin Do Hoon, the CEO of RBW and has a different style than any of their other songs. They weren't that comfortable with it which is why they rearranged it to a rock version.

Yonghoon (main vocalist) doesn't have any opera or musical theatre training that I know of specifically, but he did briefly attend music college which he was accepted to for singing (before he dropped out to join ONEWE, then known as MAS0094), so it's possible he learned various techniques there? I think part of it is that his voice just naturally has that emotional quality to it, though. I don't know if you're trying to follow any particular order when checking out their songs, but if not, here are my recs for the next ones to look into: Universe_, Montage_, and Veronica.
