But I think they are missing out on the fact that onewe is trying to build a sense of longing by refraining. Justifying the sense of 'Parting'. PD kinda got that point mostly. Great Review!!
To tell the truth this is what a song means for me, not like with beat drop it's too common plus this is what a full chorus mean not to say a line again and again.
fyi Parting is not a comeback song, its a special release. Onewe released it for the first time on their online concert so i think that's why they have a simple music video.

I love how they always do something different with their songs, like how you mentioned it was retro. Honestly, it was kinda like an anime song to me🤭 still great tho. I was raised with bands like Audioslave, Soundgarden, Stone Sour, Slipknot, A7X, Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Rammstein, Evanescence, etc. (the list goes on), and my favourite bands growing up until now stand as Green Day, MCR, Mallory Knox, One Ok Rock, Nothing But Thieves, AND Onewe. Although they're now an 'idol band', it's clear that they are not your typical Kpop band. Like Ftisland, Onewe can truly compose more rock-like songs!! It's super impressive. Yonghoon's vocals are already top-of-the-industry quality, Cya's bass-playing skills are CRAZY, and Kanghyun... Honestly, I believe he's the best guitarist of GenZ. He's insane!! If he grew up somewhere where rock music is more popular than it is in Korea, he'd seriously be revered. I can't praise him enough. Onewe have crazy band potential outside of Korea. I can't wait for them to do some Japanese releases. I'm hoping for something heavier like FT's 'Shadows'. But Onewe is definitely more than a rock band; their range of genres is awesome.
Kanghyun guitar skills are honestly on the level of some really respected guitarrists, i Hope that as he Showcase and develop even more, he gets more praising, honestly, in the K-band scene, i'd say that he's the best nowadays.

onewe is so good with these ballads to be honest, and all 3 vocalists/rappers are so good. Looking back at their audition for the unit as Mas it was so hard to tell just how good they were. Really great to see the name change and the great songs they've put out since then.

kanghyun did a vlive broadcast doing MR breakdown and comparison with the guide the made when he first wrote Parting. it was glorious (and i love teasing him every time he talked about how he sing for the demo) actually ALL of ONEWE composers (Yonghoon, Kanghyun, and Cya) always did the song producing breakdown vlive of their own song everytime they released an album. and it was just so AMAZING watching them talking about those things. you just KNOW that they love what they're doing (i know most of onewe vlive didn't get subbed, but seriously i always love those 제작기 vlives)

This was a special song for their ontact concert. also if you enjoy the drummer going off, you should look up clips from when he was performing during their concert cuz he goes off!!!!! I don't know if you know the members or if you want to learn but I'll go ahead and just leave a quick snippet just for a mini guide 🤗 The leader and main vocal is yonghoon, he was the last one to join the group as they met at a competition. The other four were in a band together already and wanted him to join after hearing him. Any whistling heard in mamamoo/oneus songs are most likely him The Guitarist with the solo is Kanghyun, he was the original leader and is so talented playing both the acoustic and electric guitar. The drummer is Harin and he is really tall along with youghoon. There's a running joke that he's the worst dancer but he's actually improved a lot. The pianist is Dongmyeong, as you know is Xion's twin. He actually participated and produce 101 season 2 with keonhee and seoho. And lastly maknae and bassist, CYA pronounced key-ya. He actually helps produce a lot of the songs for rbw groups and is our rapper. They all participated in the unit so they actually all have some idol boy group skills. They are all such good boys and together with Oneus we have a great big WeUs family 💖✨

For me when it comes to ONEWE, I always like the song when I first watch the MV but after listening to the acoustic version they release afterward I feel a whole another level of appreciation for the song. It's strange but I guess I pay more attention after listening to both versions.
Thank you PD-nim for another ONEWE song review! Aside from the beautiful melody and amazing vocal, the arrangement of this song is so brilliant. The fact that Kanghyun wrote this song, did all the lyrics and most of the production with CyA made me super impressed! This song is so incredible it is a shame that they're not promoting it like End of Spring. I agree the MV itself is simple and is on the lower-budget side, but that projector at the back just made everything look so cool. To me ONEWE is very special in the Korean music scene. They were formed in such a way that you could only think it's destiny. And they've been serving really high quality music despite their young age (they're experienced musicians though I would say, since they all started making music rather early). I hope they grow big and succeed.

What I noticed & appreciated in this mv and the Q performance ver is that they have a good balance - they camera is always moving so you don’t get bored but it’s not moving so much that it’s noticeable and distracting! Btw definitely recommend checking out the acoustic ver of this as well 👌

Honestly I always look forward to Onewe's new works and projects, they seem to have something special and the members seem to be very in touch with their emotions. This quickly became one of my favorite Onewe songs! I am so in love with Younghoon and his voice and the passion and emotion he puts into singing~ he is one of my favorite vocalists in k-pop. Kanghyun also always writes amazing songs like this one (and kills it on the guitar solo!)

Onewe really are amazing, there's a reason PD loves their songs so much (he's been reacting to them since their debut) 😊 They also have a live vocal performance of this on 1theK as well as an acoustic performance version that are both phenomenal. Also the lyrics for this song are beautiful, the guitarist Kanghyun wrote and composed it. He was inspired by a dream he had when he was young about an asteroid coming to earth and its about the the thoughts and feelings he wants to express to his loved in that moment before it hits, especially to those he'd parted with already (you can find the lyrics in the 1theK live version). Since you liked this song you will probably also like Regulus (also by Kanghyun, Parting is the sequel to Regulus) and their b-side If which have are a similar rock ballad genre. Their music is actually super diverse though so the have some really interesting stuff to explore and they do incredible covers too which you can find on their channel Onewe. Btw, same thing happened to me, I use to tend to only watch his reactions to select groups too but there were a couple of videos I saw that also really changed my mind, his reaction to the song We Must Love by ONF for example, that song blew both his mind and mine.

This album came on my shuffle a few days ago and I was like WHO DIS. And listened to entire thing. And then went back and listened to all of their stuff. Y’all, I was sleeping and now I’m WOKE! And I knew PD reacted to this song, so I had to find it
What did I think: well, I was confused for most of the song when I first heard it. It sounded like it was a song in japanese, but also it was clearly korean I was hearing, so I was scratching my head at that and it in general just didn't sound like my type of song... However... as with most songs, hearing it with you and also seeing the inspiration for the song in the comments has given me a new perspective... and maybe Yonghoon's vocals are growing on me too, so I will give it another spin.

actually ALL of ONEWE composers (Yonghoon, Kanghyun, and Cya) always did the song producing breakdown vlive of their own song everytime they released an album. and it was just so AMAZING watching them talking about those things. you just KNOW that they love what they're doing (i know most of onewe vlive didn't get subbed, but seriously i always love those 제작기 vlives)
This song is honestly one of my favorites for the whole year. I think it might be bc I lost so much this year, so I just feel the emotions in this song a lot.
PD loves Harin haha, Keonhee is their triplet. This song reminds me of early ONE OK ROCK, like Et Cetera. Also, Dongmyeong does look like Moonbyul haha
I swear kbands have the best yet most underrated vocalists. Yonghoon and Dongmyeong's harmonies give me life

The leader and main vocal is yonghoon, he was the last one to join the group as they met at a competition. The other four were in a band together already and wanted him to join after hearing him. Any whistling heard in mamamoo/oneus songs are most likely him
The Guitarist with the solo is Kanghyun, he was the original leader and is so talented playing both the acoustic and electric guitar.
The drummer is Harin and he is really tall along with youghoon. There's a running joke that he's the worst dancer but he's actually improved a lot.
The pianist is Dongmyeong, as you know is Xion's twin. He actually participated and produce 101 season 2 with keonhee and seoho.
And lastly maknae and bassist, CYA pronounced key-ya. He actually helps produce a lot of the songs for rbw groups and is our rapper.
They all participated in the unit so they actually all have some idol boy group skills.
They are all such good boys and together with Oneus we have a great big WeUs family 💖✨

For me when it comes to ONEWE, I always like the song when I first watch the MV but after listening to the acoustic version they release afterward I feel a whole another level of appreciation for the song. It's strange but I guess I pay more attention after listening to both versions.

Aside from the beautiful melody and amazing vocal, the arrangement of this song is so brilliant. The fact that Kanghyun wrote this song, did all the lyrics and most of the production with CyA made me super impressed!
This song is so incredible it is a shame that they're not promoting it like End of Spring.
I agree the MV itself is simple and is on the lower-budget side, but that projector at the back just made everything look so cool.
To me ONEWE is very special in the Korean music scene. They were formed in such a way that you could only think it's destiny. And they've been serving really high quality music despite their young age (they're experienced musicians though I would say, since they all started making music rather early). I hope they grow big and succeed.

This quickly became one of my favorite Onewe songs! I am so in love with Younghoon and his voice and the passion and emotion he puts into singing~ he is one of my favorite vocalists in k-pop.
Kanghyun also always writes amazing songs like this one (and kills it on the guitar solo!)

They also have a live vocal performance of this on 1theK as well as an acoustic performance version that are both phenomenal.
Also the lyrics for this song are beautiful, the guitarist Kanghyun wrote and composed it. He was inspired by a dream he had when he was young about an asteroid coming to earth and its about the the thoughts and feelings he wants to express to his loved in that moment before it hits, especially to those he'd parted with already (you can find the lyrics in the 1theK live version).
Since you liked this song you will probably also like Regulus (also by Kanghyun, Parting is the sequel to Regulus) and their b-side If which have are a similar rock ballad genre. Their music is actually super diverse though so the have some really interesting stuff to explore and they do incredible covers too which you can find on their channel Onewe.
Btw, same thing happened to me, I use to tend to only watch his reactions to select groups too but there were a couple of videos I saw that also really changed my mind, his reaction to the song We Must Love by ONF for example, that song blew both his mind and mine.

What did I think: well, I was confused for most of the song when I first heard it. It sounded like it was a song in japanese, but also it was clearly korean I was hearing, so I was scratching my head at that and it in general just didn't sound like my type of song... However... as with most songs, hearing it with you and also seeing the inspiration for the song in the comments has given me a new perspective... and maybe Yonghoon's vocals are growing on me too, so I will give it another spin.
