They have a live version of ausgehen now. You should check it out.

recommendation -> Roxanne - AnnenMayKantereit & Milky Chance
There are soooooooo many outstanding live performances of that band.
In several interviews he said that in his family many already speak low anyway.
And he said he used to sing loud a lot - they started as street singers. He believes this has practised his voice.
You can see and hear that too when you listen (on their channel) to the very first "street performances".
Even then, without a studio and a microphone, there is a great energy in the voice.
In the meantime, there are also some good live recordings of concerts - also from "Ausgehen")

If you dig into their oldest songs, you find many who were just recorded on streets, in the woods or wherever. There you can listen the clean sound.

You did that well. They did this video a 2nd time, with more of the aditional bands members. If you listen to the music it's more than the 3 of them. It's fun and they are having fun doing it. They did this with a couple of other videos. The ones on the phones are fun, and they redid them with a professional cameraman. I think it's what you said they did it during the virus and just wanted to get the music out there.

I also didn't know (well, I would've known if I had read your bio earlier 😉) that you've been living in Germany, hence speak the language fluently.

Mich freut besonders, dass du dir für deine Videoreaktion eine Band aus meiner Heimatstadt Köln ausgesucht hast - aber AnnenMayKantereit überzeugen ja nicht nur durch ihre Herkunft, sondern ihre gute Musik. 😁
Ich mag deine Reaktionsvideos übrigens sehr. Ich finde es grundsätzlich sehr interessant und auch lehrreich, wenn ein Profi die Gesangsqualität von Künstlern/Künstlerinnen im Detail beurteilt, so dass Laien wie ich auf gewisse Feinheiten im Gesang hingewiesen werden. Von solchen Music Teacher Reactions gibt es zwar sehr viele bei RUclips, aber deine sind etwas Besonderes. Sie sind erfrischend anders, weil deine Reaktionen authentisch und lebendig sind, man spürt deine Begeisterung und Leidenschaft für Musik und Gesang - danke dafür! 🙏
Du hast auch schon Live-Auftritte von meinen Lieblingssängerinnen analysiert, nämlich Billie Eilish und P!nk - zum Glück bist du von ihnen genauso begeistert wie ich! 😃
Da Billie erst kürzlich im Zusammenhang mit der Veröffentlichung ihres neuen Albums diverse Live-Videos gedreht und in ihrem RUclips-Kanal eingestellt hat, würde ich mich sehr über eine Reaktion dazu von dir freuen - vor allem zu ihrer Performance von "Happier than ever" bei der Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon vor ein paar Tagen.

Can you imagine that Henning may is able to write absolutely romantic songs about, e.g.: 'I would like to live in an old hosue appartment with you' (Ich würd so gerne mit sir in 'ner Altbau Wohnung wohn'n) or a love song to his father who raised him alone ater Henning May's mother died early: 'Ich hab keine Heimat, ich hab nur dich' It's starts with a line the likes 'You dressed me up re-dressed me, stripped me down'... when I first listened to it I didn't know he wrote it for his father and got some strange ideas what he may fall for... ;-) anyway: it's worth listening to it! ' I've got no home but always just you, forever just you' the chorus is strong enough.

If you like the raspy voice of Henning May, you should listen to their first EP - "Wird schon irgendwie gehen" and the Song "Oft gefragt" On the following LP "Alles nix konkretes" his voice was already filtered but still great.

Annen May Kuntereit turned down contracts with recording companies in order o remain freedom of their style, possibility to meet their audience freely without to have to present an artificial image not being true. The offers were quite well donated but they turned them down anyway. They started of as streets singers and did befriend Milky Chance who was a street singer before he got worldwide success. Henning May - the singer with the deep, raspy voice - can not only sing falsetto (search vor 'Pocahontas') but also writes a lot of the songs of the band but not exclusively because he neither wants to be seen as the star of the band nor the single writer. They are all quite special and have their edges - in fact the band consists of 5 members and not the three mentioned in the band name. In Germany they're filling halls easily and it's somehow like a family reunion. The made it into the culture parts of magazines and TV channels, too. 'The nostalgic poets of university students' one of those columnists called them.
If I may advise a cover song they did in their times as a street band (somewhere I have a clip with them performing it in a shopping pedestrian area) which was written for and performed first by Nina Hagen (pronounciation: Neena Haagen) who at the time was a kind of TV Clown singer in Eastern German TV before she left for the West due to political reasons after he stepfather literally was taken away his citizenship by the socialist regime before the reunion of Germany. You may know Hagen as Punk singer when she rose to medium fame internationally for a while. Watch it!
